    With the last question, why did you do 10 cos40 instead of 10 sin40?

    at 3.17 why would friction take a value of 5 even though we just proved that it was 9.8N?

      The Fmax is the maximum possible value that friction can be. It won't always be 9.8N but that is the maximum value that friction can be. If X=5N then friction will be 5N as it is opposing that force. Friction can never be greater than the force it is going against.
      In Part 2 when X=10N: since Fmax is 9.8N and the force is 10N then there is acceleration because X is greater than Fmax
