Being sea sick is no joke. Took me out a whole day my first cruise. I’m glad Lauren came around at the end! I’ve seen videos on how bad the drake passage can be!
There are Rx sea sickness patches that you put behind your ear. You put a new one on every third day. I get them for every single cruise from my doctor. If I need them-I have them. If not, I save them for the next cruise. Cost. $4.00.
I have never been sea sick but I did watch my husband turn green on a short trip from Dana Point, CA to Catalina Island. He looked and felt awful. It’s the real deal.
Bonine works so much better than dramamine and non drowsy. Also I always start my Bonine a day or 2 before my cruises because I am prone to sea sickness. Ever since there I have been in fairly rough seas and haven't gotten sick since using bonine and taking it before getting sick. Hope Lauren starts feeling better.
Jenea is correct from my experience. Always start taking your seasickness medication early , even earlier than the medication usually recommends. Days , not just a few hours.
I get the feeling you may have been in the market for a new camera had you continued to film Lauren much longer while she was seasick. 🤣. I’m glad she got through it. Can’t wait for the rest of the videos.
Thanks for sharing. We are going to Antactica on the Quark Ultramarine in March. Crazy expensive but I'm looking forward to the experience of a lifetime!
Lauren - I'm impressed that you cruise in spite of how you get sea-sick. I trave with a friend who gets sea-sick and I know what it looks like. You go girl!!
What an amazing experience. I think Lauren has answered my question about whether or not I can manage the Drake Passage. Can't wait to see more of your journey. :)
I crossed through the Drake Passage in January of this year. I vomited at least twenty times. It was brutal. I eventually learned that if I didn’t move and just lied down, I wouldn’t be as sick, so that’s what I did and the vomiting subsided. I couldn’t eat for about 48 hours either, so I dropped a couple of ponds. I thought that the seasickness patch would have helped me more but it didn’t do much for me. The Drake Passage is no joke! 😂 Lauren I’m feeling your pain!!!
OMG.. I know who Lauren reminds me of.... in the 1980's there was a movie called 'Better off Dead' - she reminds me of the French exchange student.. its her big smile, the hair cut and style, and how vibrant she is. .. Anyway, love your channel!
Lauren looks much better, glad she got over it. Anyone can get seasick cased by many factors, not just the movement, lack of rest, ear infections, lack of food. Looks like a great cruise.
That was a horrible, tragic event. Made me sad. I think it is a freak accident like not common from what I understand. Be awful to go on a vacation and that happenel. Just awful.
One of your best videos! I’m so glad that Lauren got better. I was intrigued with the mandatory meetings you attended, and the instructions given, including clothing, required, and the wildlife. Looking forward to your next videos, covering this amazing part of the world. ❤
Hey j! I just wanted to let you know that a green apple with salt can really help with sea sickness! I got it recommended by a crew member on a ncl ship! Anyway I hope Lauren feels better!
I’m glad Lauren is feeling a little better-I felt so bad watching her. I used to get land sick after working my really long Jungle Cruise shifts at WDW. 13 hours off and on a small boat. I’d get home and the room would be rocking like I was still on the boat.
Like so many other comments, I also really recommend the patch. I’m a person that can’t even watch point of view video. I also got sick playing Mario kart with my kids. The patch works!❤so happy Lauren was feeling better at the end of the video.
First and only time I went outside the US from Philly - Ecuador we took a boat to I forget where, island hopped around the Galapagos. First time being on a boat way out in the middle of nowhere, everyone fell asleep but me and an underclassman (I was in 12th) I think my friends got sea sickness too 🤷🏽♂️
Hey J. Oh no. Laurene must really be uncomfortable to bring her to tears. Glad she eventually got out. You looking great in that captains seat J. Like they give the demonstrations of what to expect and the provided clothing. This is Laurene needs is carbs 🥖🧈. Glad she’s feeling better. See you next video.
I highly recommend getting a reliefband. It is an electric bracelet that delivers a small shock to the same nerve that a sea band presses. I have used one for 19 cruises (most of which were TAs). Our first was awful due to sea sickness. I have loaned mine out frequently and purchased extras just in case. I could not cruise without them. We did a TA on the RCCL Legend-a small ship without stabilizers. We were on Deck 8 OT 9 and waves were splashing on our balcony. We were fine.
Sorry Lauren, sea sickness is the worst, and to have it on such a beautiful ship with an extraordinary itinerary, doesn’t help one bit, hopefully it passes and you enjoy your trip. Just love your videos and you two are such a great couple.
I feel bad for Lauren, I’m so glad I don’t get seasick anymore (I used to as a young kid) my stomach has adapted after 30+ years on the seas. Looks like you had the ship to yourself most people must have felt like Lauren did. I had beef Weligton for the first time in December and my gosh it was amazing and I’d probably not even consider anything else on a menu if it’s available now.
Sea sickness is more about your inner ear than your stomach. But eating greasy crappy foods won't help either. The young Lady should have sat out on the deck cause that fresh cool air does wonders and getting to ordinate your eyes & brain with the ocean horizon helps a lot too !
Thank you so much for taking this cruise and sharing it with us. This one is on my bucket list! I am happy your honey is finally feeling better for this awesome trip. Have fun and looking forward to your next video!
Advise for Lauren as someone that has been seasick forever! Get outside look at the horizon and with the fresh air it will help! Also, green apples and ginger/ginger ale! Taking ginger capsules a week before sailing and continuing thru the cruise helps so much! Have sailed the Drake passage but have sailed thru a storm thru the Sea of Biscay and these things helped so much! Have to say after 50+ cruises it does get better! Advise for Jay…don’t keep asking someone that doesn’t feel good how they feel…it only makes you think of it more! 😅 Love your videos 😊
My dad was a charter boat captain out of Ilwalco Washington! We had several 12 passenger charters over the years... I was a pre teen going out over the Columbia River bar, the most dangerous bar with hundreds of sunken ships... the rougher the better for me.. I remember looking straight up at the bouys. I ❣️ the ocean!
What an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing. Haven’t been on a cruise in quite awhile. Love that stand alone hand washing station. This ship seems to have thought of it all.
My wife uses Bonine (and sea bands) on rough sea days. I am fortunate, even on a transpacific cruise on the Radiance of the Seas, I was never sea sick.
Antarctica - how cool is that? Wow. Oh no poor Lauren getting sea sick again. That would be me. I'm so glad you feel better now Honey. Have a great time!!
Awww Lauren my heart goes out to you. Try some dry toast darls. No matter how sick you feel you need to have food in your tummy. I know you may not feel like eating but it honestly is something they say to keep eating. Hope it eased x
Your girl is so pretty! I totally can understand her pain though lol I get sea sick so easily while my husband has so much energy and I’m just trying to rest and not talk 😆 It’s annoying but also I envy how he doesn’t get sick!!
Oh bless I’ve just found your channel and this is the 2nd video but I felt so sorry for Lauren being so sea sick 🤢 and she still had to drag herself into the meeting so she would be able to enjoy the activities once at your amazing destination. I was so so happy and glad to see that she was feeling much better later on in the evening time and was able to enjoy her dinner. I hope you both had an amazing trip am sure you did ❤❤ on to video 3 😊
Something for Lauren to try next time she is seasick- drink ginger beer(no alcohol in it). It is a very strong ginger ale and really helps with nausea.
Next time have the doctor prescribe scopolamine patches it works for three days then you change to a new one. They go behind ear. My daughter cannot cruise without them. ❤️

I got seasick a couple of days and I had a drinking package. Easy way to lose money
I have never been sea sick but I did watch my husband turn green on a short trip from Dana Point, CA to Catalina Island. He looked and felt awful. It’s the real deal.
Sitting in the Captain's Chair & using his binoculars was epic!
Poor Lauren, seasickness is terrible. I’m glad she is feeling better. This is a most beautiful ship💗💗🌊🌊
Bonine works so much better than dramamine and non drowsy. Also I always start my Bonine a day or 2 before my cruises because I am prone to sea sickness. Ever since there I have been in fairly rough seas and haven't gotten sick since using bonine and taking it before getting sick.

Bonine is so awesome! Feel better Lauren!😊
Same for me. Bonine is my best friend on cruises.
My heart broke hearing Lauren cry! I need her to get better soon so I can see the happy and care free Lauren again. Take care of her!!
That's a beautiful looking couple there - glad you guys had fun adventuring.
Poor Lauren , she is such a sweetheart . Am glad she got better.
I get the feeling you may have been in the market for a new camera had you continued to film Lauren much longer while she was seasick. 🤣. I’m glad she got through it. Can’t wait for the rest of the videos.
She was NOT feeling being recorded 😬😔🤢
Jesus loves you
@@MsDedemc Jesus loves you
First world problems, her attitude made me sea sick. Like you’re on a ANTARCTICA CRUISE ON A TOP NOTCH SHIP BRO GROW TF UP
Thanks for sharing. We are going to Antactica on the Quark Ultramarine in March. Crazy expensive but I'm looking forward to the experience of a lifetime!
I'm the captain now! Nice rendition.
It was so sweet to see how comforting you were to Lauren when she was first sick!! You're a great guy!
I get see sick on every cruise but on my last one I got the prescription behind the ear patches and worked like a charm no sickness at all.
Your Antarctica vids are gonna be so fun to watch

I hate being sea sick. So glad to see Lauren feeling better. Be safe and enjoy the adventures of a lifetime.
This is absolutely wild. Enjoy and all of the best. Lauren take it slow and easy. You will get through the sea sickness. Best.
Great video - glad that Lauren made it thru the seasickness. Can't wait to see the rest of your journey!
Looks good so far, can't wait for the excursion. Lauren, she's a trooper, now that she's gotten through that, she should be fine.
The seasick patches are the best. Never been sick as long as I have one on. Highly recommend
Lauren is so beautiful! Glad she is feeling better!
Great Jay. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the follow-up. I Hope Lauren is feeling better.
Lauren looks much better, glad she got over it. Anyone can get seasick cased by many factors, not just the movement, lack of rest, ear infections, lack of food. Looks like a great cruise.
I’m the captain now 😂 that made my day lol !!
Wow the Drake passage! Thank you for vlogging it super interesting.
Poor Laurene, I hope she continues to improve. Looking forward to the adventures off the boat!
Drake passage is deadly. A Viking passenger died from a rogue wave that broke their cabin window a few months ago.
That was a horrible, tragic event. Made me sad. I think it is a freak accident like not common from what I understand. Be awful to go on a vacation and that happenel. Just awful.
This is a very rare, unfortunate event.
I sorry she got sick, and now she's better yea. I always like seeing you with and your family ❤❤
One of your best videos! I’m so glad that Lauren got better. I was intrigued with the mandatory meetings you attended, and the instructions given, including clothing, required, and the wildlife. Looking forward to your next videos, covering this amazing part of the world. ❤
My ❤ goes out to Lauren. What a wonderful trip of a lifetime.

Awesome to see Lauren's improvement. What a difference!

Green Apples in a heavy sea state are worth their weight in gold.

Aww poor Lauren, I get sea sickness & car sickness so I feel for her it's horrible.
We are twins
We 3 are triplets. I have a very weak stomach. But im pretty strong. Can last 17 hours of car sickness without a nasty vomit
Love your Antarctica cruise! Learning so much!
Poor Lauren! I'm glad she started to feel better. Hope you both have a wonderful trip!!
Glad she’s feeling better
Poor Lauren!! 😢 I’m so glad she got to feeling a lot better!!

Advise for Lauren as someone that has been seasick forever! Get outside look at the horizon and with the fresh air it will help! Also, green apples and ginger/ginger ale!

Oh no, I know what that feels like, I hope it didn't take up too much of Lauren's time. I hope she enjoys the rest of the cruise!
Bless her heart! I'm glad she got past it! Looks like an interesting trip!
Open door policy to bridge 😵💫. Capt Philips: “That’s interesting “. 😂. She’s hungry after being sick. She’s a trooper and shook it off. ✅
Great job on this trip, very interesting and captivating video series.. hope you get to do this as a job forever.. cheers and bon voyage..
Both of you are awesome. I am super excited for you both.
How awesome getting to see the bridge!!
This ship looks beautiful
Handy trick I learned from a nurse.. inhale an isopropyl alcohol swab. Humming helps too.
Poor lauren-hope she feels better. This adventure looks AMAZING!!!
So glad Lauren is feeling better. Have fun you two and be safe!❤
What an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing. Haven’t been on a cruise in quite awhile. Love that stand alone hand washing station. This ship seems to have thought of it all.
What a fabulous trip! Living your best life!! I hope she feels better asap and can enjoy her cruise. Stay on the sea sickness meds.
My wife uses Bonine (and sea bands) on rough sea days. I am fortunate, even on a transpacific cruise on the Radiance of the Seas, I was never sea sick.
J
I feel for Lauren. The worst feeling is sea sickness. Hope she gets over it. Great vlog as well.
Antarctica - how cool is that? Wow. Oh no poor Lauren getting sea sick again. That would be me. I'm so glad you feel better now Honey. Have a great time!!
Hey I love ❤️ the two of you together on the videos!
I am so enjoying this trip hoping Lauren is feeling better soon
This was so interesting thank you . Poor Lauren !
So sorry Lauren was so seasick! She really pulled through it tho ❤ love how you guys are with one another 💕
Poor Lauren! I've been there too. Sea sickness is awful.
Awww Lauren my heart goes out to you. Try some dry toast darls. No matter how sick you feel you need to have food in your tummy. I know you may not feel like eating but it honestly is something they say to keep eating. Hope it eased x
Great Captain Phillips comment!
You guys make a beautiful couple. Love this video.
So glad Lauren felt better ❤ food looks good!!
That female seems like such a fun person to be around 😂
So sad for Lauren. I battle sea sickness every time I cruise. Go figure…but I love cruising. Haha
Poor Lauren, get some rest and enjoy the trip
Scopolamine patches are a life saver for nausea. Sea sickness sucks!
Great videos. One thing for sure this cruise looks like it’s not for anyone that doesn’t swim.
Agreed
Enjoy the rest of the trip!
Your girl is so pretty! I totally can understand her pain though lol I get sea sick so easily while my husband has so much energy and I’m just trying to rest and not talk 😆 It’s annoying but also I envy how he doesn’t get sick!!
I was on that ship in February! Enjoy!
"I'm the captain now" :D
I want to do this cruise!! Thanks for taking us along.
You two are so adorable. I'm new to your content and am really enjoying your style.
Have the waiter get some fresh ginger, often they have pickled, it will stop the nausea without any side effects
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I take the Dramamine stuff when I get the safety briefing and the day after. It usually works for me. Feel better Lauren 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
"Look at me I am the captain now" I think I woke my whole neighborhood laughing at that.
Hey Honey, I am 64 and scared to Cruise, but I Love your Channel the Cruise Ship is Beautiful, You all Becareful ,
Something for Lauren to try next time she is seasick- drink ginger beer(no alcohol in it). It is a very strong ginger ale and really helps with nausea.
The videos with both of y'all are my favorites! What an amazing trip 🤢 or not
Next time have the doctor prescribe scopolamine patches it works for three days then you change to a new one. They go behind ear. My daughter cannot cruise without them. ❤️
