  • In this video I provide my ownership first impressions of my new 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro. Ice Cap white in color with red interior… I love it! This is the best Toyota I’ve ever owned, and I mean that. Between having the functional 3rd row, remarkable power delivery, stunning body lines and amazing creature comforts. It’s the greatest!
    Yes I like it better than my previous 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition… better than ny previous V8 Tundra TRD Pros… better than my FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition, and just barely better than my 4Runner TRD Pros (space and power win out).
    This 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro is just so much fun to drive. My wife and I absolutely love it! If you get a chance to drive one, definitely do it!
    Thanks for watching as always. Let me know your thoughts.
    -Stay Untamed…

    We got an SR5 2023 with the TRD and Premium package and it has like 90% of the same features of this model and we love it. Saved us a lot of money and we were able to get it in Lunar Rock color too all for less than 70k. We took it on a road trip with the kids and dog half way across the country and it was amazing. Got 20 mpg the whole way, lots of room to put our stuff, and it is a beast when you have to pass people, just instant put you in your seat throttle at any speed.

    Great video! As for me I have four kiddos two of which are adult sized teenagers (with two in middle school), and a few months ago when I took our 2015 Sequoia Limited 4x4 in for some maintenance at the dealership, I had the kiddos all jump into the new one, and my two sons 17, 15 had their heads hit the roof in the back, and all four of my kids thought it was smaller and not as comfortable. It is clearly smaller. They liked the look but all agreed they prefer our current Sequoia. For the prices they are asking there is no way I'd move up into this current gen.

  • @healer81

    Your opinion is skewed because you have vehicles for such a short time. Most regular people that buy Toyotas drive them for 7-10 years plus. I'll give Toyota 3 years to get it right with the new drive train. The sequoia is a handsome truck, but I still like the look of the 200 series LC.

      Yep which is why I wanted to make that clear at the start of this video. For someone who doesn’t hold onto vehicles a long time, this sequoia is the better pick over the Land Cruiser. 👍

    I’m def one of those people that say I’ll own my vehicles till the wheels fall off but I actually do. And most people who say that most times do. Everyone I know keeps their trucks till it’s done and not worth fixing or replacing something if it gets that old. Every single truck and suv I’ve owned I have been the one and only owner for all of them. Bought them all new till it didn’t go anymore. My 4runner now has little over 150,000 and still goin strong and never had a single issue. This will prolly be the longest lasting vehicle I’ve owned cause it will outlast my other vehicles but I will def be keeping it forever until it literally dies. I wouldn’t want it any other way and don’t like changing vehicles often. I like building a weird connection to my trucks and being so used to every tiny little detail and part.

    • @UntamedMotors
      @UntamedMotors  Год назад

      I respect owners like you… though I couldn’t never do it myself, I too love the “idea” of that. But I can confidently say the vast majority of people who claim this do not keep for more than a few years. It’s something they like to say because it helps justify their purchase. It’s more of a psychological thing than anything. I see it all the time on my channel here… people will buy a new vehicle and quickly State they’ll drive it forever. I’ve already seen those same people sell off/trade in since saying that about their 2020 purchase hah. =]

    I'd get this in a second if it just had something like the fold out flat front center console worksurface found on the Ford F150 pickups. That is incredibly useful, and the main reason I am considering getting a pick up, a loaded Ford F150 specifically, instead of an suv. But no one offers such a thing on any suv, and Ford only offers it on their pickups. Too bad. And frustrating, since I really like a few suvs, this one in particular. I'd want an all black exterior whatever vehicle I get. After much research, and if I could pick and choose features, I'd want the GMC Yukon AT4 with cadillac Escalade interior luxury, raised up at least 1 inch from the current base height of 8 inches, so that with its adjustable air suspension it would be at least 9" standard height, up to at least 10" in 4H and up to at least 11" in 4L. And of course, I'd want that fold out flat work surface in the front center console. But no such suv exists with all that, and I do like what I see with this Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro. I'd keep the 3rd row down flat most of the time, just up on the occasions those extra seats would be useful, so plenty of interior cargo space for my uses most of the time. I must say, I don't like the read interior, I'd much prefer just an all black interior too, including a black headliner, whether I went all black exterior as I generally prefer, or all white exterior like this one. That said, you're daughter's cute, and I'll give the red some more thought just because she likes it so much.

    • @UntamedMotors
      @UntamedMotors  8 месяцев назад +1

      I loved this sequoia, just wished it made more sense for a family of 6 (lack of cargo renders its useless)… personally I prefer the non-hybrid twin turbo V6 in the LX but the pep/speed of this tied to its good turning radius (unlike this gen tundra) made it a great choice: the Fox suspension was super plush too… it’s neck and neck with the LX but I’d lean with the Lexus. Do prefer the Toyota badge though.

    • @UntamedMotors
      @UntamedMotors  Год назад +1

      The Land Cruiser is a brute... King of reliability. The design cues and interior is just boring. The "tech" of the LC is trying hard to be modern but just falls short. It isn't anywhere near as intuitive as the new Sequoia here. Just shows its age is all... with the 200 series being nearly 2 decades old (design wise).

      the sienna is a great option if you need the 7 or 8 seating plus cargo space and you can get over driving a minivan and just need e-awd for light snow driving conditions.

    Nice trucks but most complex Toyotas ever released in the last year.
    V6 turbo hybrid = more parts to maintain and repair = less overall reliability.
    But if your not taking your trucks to areas where people can’t tow you out easily that doesn’t matter I guess.

    16 mpg?!? Man I really am disappointed in that number.
    My 3 inch lifted 4runner with armor on 33’s gets between 16.5-17 mpg combined. I know the sequoia is heavier especially with the hybrid and is way more powerful and way bigger but still would think they would’ve made the mpg way better with the hybrid. 16 mpg even if it’s city driving is sad for a 2023 hybrid Powertrain.
