When my children were dating, my husband and I strongly advised each of our children to experience every season with a person before marrying. Date for at least a year, we told them. That guideline is wisely at the top of Chelsea Hayden's list. I became widowed at age 54, and two years later decided I was ready to date. At that time, I failed to follow the advice I had given my own children. I rationalized that rule was not valid for a person of my experience and age. Come to find out- that guideline is even MORE important to follow for someone of my age and experience! Ha-ha. Now I have even more age and MORE experience. I appreciate that Chelsea has gathered so much important and valuable information into this short workshop to help us singles improve our relationship abilities. I especially appreciate the reminder that my relationship with myself and Heavenly Father is the most crucial and important.
I am a convert so no list as a YW. I divorced 8 yrs ago after 30 years. He was my 2nd marriage. He loved my children, or so I was led to believe... I've had no real desire to date. Been there twice already. This was helpful even at 70! Thank you.
