I'll consider an electric motorcycle when the battery technology with regards to available mileage and charge times can keep up with comparable combustion engines . . . as well as the price.
I would too except I'd miss the sound and the shifting and rider engagement of a manual transmission too much. For that reason I'm not really interested in electric. Governments and corporations sure are trying pretty hard to shove them down our throat, which is another reason I'm convinced they aren't a good thing for consumers.
@@Stevel_ I understand you but your rhetoric is frustrating... shoving down throats and whatnot is totally hyperbolic... theres still gas cars around, there's just other choices
Well done mr sprocket. I think it’s awesome bc it’s provides options as you said. And we all benefit from options. I think the e ftr is a great feeder to get kids to start forming a bond w the Indian brand for sure !
Hey I’ve went down on one of these eftr JR’s lol got two at the house for the kids to race It was a smart play imo. I couldn’t have just an electric motorcycle but I wouldn’t mind having one in the garage.
I’m getting the FTR mini for my 6 year old granddaughter… I ride a Chief Dark Horse, she wants to be like her Pop Pop… I do believe in options as well, and the EV market is inevitably growing.. But I would also like to see Indian expand into different markets such as Dirt Bikes, Adventure Bikes and of course EVs. I’m already old and will be riding V twins till I die, but that doesn’t mean every one has to…
I like the idea, part of my love for motorcycles came from the little "tote goat" my dad had for my brother and I. Whether we like it or not, Governments around the world are slowly forcing us into EV use. I personally hope the range is much better before they do it but either way it is the reality we're living in, so getting it started with younger people that are going to be living in that reality is a good thing and it allows Polaris/Indian to develop the technology at a lower cost too so it's a smart move.
Not interested in electric motorcycles at all, but I think these are just fine for young kids in a neighborhood setting where you can't tool around on a traditional dirt bike.
@@TheSprocket had two home runs at this pawn shop so far. Yamaha I 1000 generator was 280 couldn't get it started passed came back two days later to offer 200 they had it on the floor for 150! Took it home changed the oil, fuel, spark plug cleaned the carb and ran carb cleaner through it. Purrs like a kitten now.
It'll be an interesting time once the crackdowns start happening. Once battery technology catches up and it becomes over cheaper than gas, it's only a matter of time. Insurance premiums spike because you're driving gas or the gov. taxing more to drive gas on city roads. Whew. So many possibilities, but I'm with you on that!
I have a Tesla and a gas heavy duty truck. I just got a 2017 Scout. I’ll always want my bike to be gas. The car is fast and fun but really only for commuting and my gas truck is for towing my trailer or any other road trip. ICE has its place.

@@petrol11 dude...all over the world governments are banning the sale of gas cars by 2035. How many choices will you have then?
Indian is building clientele from childhood, very smart

I’m already shopping either dct, cvt, or electric. I wish there was an adult version of the eftr by Indian.

Great video I like it a lot when you get my nephew one in my electric bike keeps asking for an electric bike
If Indian made something like the CSC City Slicker that would be a great gateway for young urban buyers.
I hope u gave Mr Bicasso permission to use his footage of him on that chief!
Lol, he did. 😅👍🏾
Got one at the pawn shop for 400 nice pit bike for me since I'm only 173. Fun to race my sons on in the back yard without bothering the neighbors
Heck of a find! Nice!

what’s top speed with you on it?
@@tylerfritz80 venture to guess probably only 12-16 mile per hour. Good for a small back yard to have fun with the kids
I don’t think motorcycles or sport cars should be electric but that’s just me
Man my bank account says internal combustion only bebe.

The way the emission lows are going Electric is the way foreword, a lot of vehicle company's are heading away from Dinosaur powered machines.

I don't buy electric vehicles, gotta be internal combustion, or nothing at all ")
I'd rock it but I'd look like I stole it.
I'm sure we all would 😂
But electric sucks ass it isn’t as cool as has to ride
