Hi, just subscribed. 44 yo just graduated as a paralegal. Starting at the DA's office asca legal secretary on September 11 ..dream job...nervous as heck and excited. Learning as much as possible
I’m not even a paralegal but I’ve worked under and managed a law firm. My team was quality control for all filings to the court in prior firm. Now my boss wants to teach me to be his paralegal. Love it here! Even in SC there is hope to make good money at the right firm!
Greetings ,I'm really blessed as a Paralegal . And it was very fruitful to lesson to your program, I wish I can have more of your program. Kind regards Thami Mjandana
Excellent content! Thanks so much! 🎉 I've spent the last 20+ years in the bankruptcy field. It's always been good for me. Now I'm having a hard time finding part-time or contract work. I love setting my own schedule and working from various locations. 😄 You've given me some key pointers to add to cover letters, resume, and my LinkedIn profile. I'll be subscribing and looking for more videos! PS: do you have any ideas about transitioning into other facets of the law, such as, family or personal injury?
I appreciate this. My attorney keeps saying I need "systems" that I need to develop. I never worked in an office prior to this, and I've been there for 8 months. I'm getting better. Does anyone have any YT videos to point me to regarding systems of organization and time management?
I’ve got a specific question about evidence… As regards audio and video evidence being ready for court and understandable to a judge/jury, would paralegals be responsible for hiring digital forensics people or would that rest on the legal team to do that?
A good friend of mine has offered me a job as a paralegal at his firm. I am trying to get handle on what exactly I will be doing... I have no education at all, and I am not a strong writer by any means. Not sure if it would be a right move for me, or his firm to be honest. Thoughts?
Older workers bring a different dynamic to the work place. We tend to be calmer and more level-headed. Diplomatic in approach and good at de-escalating. If you're coming with all of that and you have the paralegal skills, they'll be fortunate to have you! 🎉
Regarding not discussing whose fault something was, that sounds nice, just move on without explaining it wasn't you but another department that missed something, but if that happens a few times and its encouraged not to discuss whose was at fault, how would they know that its not you that made several mistakes now when it comes to evaluating either performance or whether to keep you on as an employee, that part doesn't add up.
I think that if they see you coming up with and implementing solutions coupled with solid work output, they will catch on. Also, most electronic filing requires separate logins, etc. This happened to me once. The attorney was fussing but I was off work the day the document was filed. He asked me who was at fault. I told him I didn't know that, but I knew a way to fix it. I gave him my suggestion which was approved.

You have very controlled speech, to an impressive degree. Although I prefer faster speech, you force me to slow down and listen. 😊

I do have a lot of resources for personal injury topics on the website: paralegal-bootcamp.com/paralegal-resources

That would definitely be something the paralegal is doing during the pre trial prep phase.

If you want to learn it, you will. It's a sink or swim situation, but it's a better way to learn, in my opinion. I hope you accepted the job 🙂
How did you do on the job? Do you like it so far? Did you have any degree before being offered the position?
Did you take the job? If so, how are you doing with it?
Paralegal must haves and prove it.
Yes, definitely!

I just got an agreement for a job as a Border Control Agent, which means I am finally vetted. Praise God.
And were you a paralegal prior to that?
Sounds like the military to me....
Exactly.

Is a paralegal as knowledgeable as an attorney?
A paralegal skill set is much different than an attorney skill set. That question might need a whole video to talk about that! Thanks for the idea!
@@ParalegalBootCampplease do a video!
Too much talking and I don't hear investment to your employees.
Is this a good job for men or women only
Men make great Paralegals as well.

Thank you.
You are so welcome
