I probably wouldn't be interested in buying one but I'd sure like a turn on one of em! Cool looking bike, I love that they actually went a bit crazy with the styling
i am 5'8" and scout fits me better in the longer distance. more ppl look at my scout than my previous 883. mine is red with brown seat. a head turner. in 1960, our family knew only vespa and indian brands. anyhow, hd is still the most famous here in thailand. but the indian and victory are catching up very quickly. have a good ride :)
Nice video. Must be a brand new location which is a good thing. I was at the old dealership there a few months ago and it was not a very together place. I like all of the Indian bikes and hope this new place does well .
***** Thanks Daniel. I live in Phoenix but like to go down to Tucson every now and then . Will definitely stop in the next time I go down . How can I know the next time they'll have test rides ? Actually I'll just contact them to find out. My last bike was a 2005 HD Electraglide that I modified like a street glide. Had to sell it a few yrs ago for economic reasons. Hope to get another bike in the next year or two. I like the Indian and Victory bikes.
Next time you're down here in Tucson, drop me a line! Wish I had known they were doing this demo event, I've been meaning to stop in and check out the new scout. I really like how they balanced new/old design cues, they've really put together a great looking bike. Good video, really enjoyed it!
Hey man thanks for great video and info.iam seriously considering one it's between or silver/grey.did you feel getting blown off freway...? Or did it hold its own.?
Thanks for the video, can't wait until the tour gets to Florida. I think this will be the bike to get me off the Ninja...maybe. I'm hoping there's enough power and handling capability to keep me entertained. Might do clip-ons and mid controls eventually
Thanks for this video. I'm looking hard at the Scout for my next bike purchase. One question: when you were on the freeway, did you feel like you were getting beat up by the wind? I know you can buy a windscreen to go on the scout. I think that would be a smart purchase if someone wanted to use the Scout on long trips, especially at freeway speeds. Much thanks!
+BigRedYeti Yes it was kind of windy some times at 60 it wasnt bad then it would be down the freeway.. went about a hour drive or so 60-80ish not to bad imaging the windshield would help tons
This or a 1200 T super low Harley. I am 5"5 .30 inseem As far as the scout I'd probably add a seat for passenger and backrest to it ..it really looks like was nice riding. ..thanks again for info appreciate it
If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you (particularly inseam)? I'm a college athlete, and I'm worried that I might not fit well. Also, Indian offers a 2-up seat. Could a passenger ride reasonably comfortably for 2 hours or so?
Really a shame that they dont have mid controls, but i think compared to a sportster, the sportster is more versatile. Since in terms of customization On a HD the sky is the limit, you can make a sportster as anything you want, from scrambler to cafe racer, forward controls to rear controls. The Indian stays simply as a cruiser but a very good one.
You get a lot of tall guy questions. I'm 6'2 and felt very very cramped on the scout. No way I could ever ride one for very long. I felt like a Sasquatch riding a tricycle
Would it be a bad idea to make this my first bike? I'm about 5'5" with a 30in inseam. I'll use it for commuting and occasional road trips. If it's as easy to ride as I hear I don't want to waste time nor money on a Rebel 250. Great video man.
Thats great news, thank you. Looks pretty flickable and easy to control. Been watching your other videos, you have some good stuff man. Definitely subscribed. Take care and stay safe. Thanks again.
MeestahChuklesOne4 It may fit you well but this bike makes 100hp... If you're ok with potentially dropping it and scuffing it up, go for it, but imo if you want a cruiser, start on a used 750.
Spetznaz666 Update 03/20/17: Got myself a '17 Iron 883 about 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Something with a larger displacement like the Scout would probably be better suited for my 40 mile round trip to work (mostly highway), but I'm still head over heels for my Iron.
I'd like to make a "sport" Scout with a higher seat and rear-set pegs and lower/clubman handlebars. That motor has so much potential ! This is an AMAZING bike with a Fantastic Future ! ! Great Video ! Thanks for Sharing ! ! Just Liked and Subscribed !!
Is it technically correct for Polaris to use "est. 1901"? I mean Indian Motorcycle company ended in 1953 and everything afterwards new owners bought the name which means Polaris should use "est. 2011"
Chicken Soup So what! So did all the people working there. The focus should be that this is a great bike and made in the USA! Personally I am glad to see another American brand putting out exciting products. Way to go Indian!!
Indian needs to get away from calling or marketing this as a beginner's bike or entry level bike. For one it's sounds cheap, suggests both lack luster performance and lack of features. It also insinuates another bike purchase is needed in the future to move into a "real" bike. None of which is true with the new Scout. This is a great purpose built motorcycle for both new and experienced riders. It's mid-size makes it easy and fun to ride around town or on day trips. I purchased one and plan on keeping it. If I need to ride across the country I'll take something else.
The engine cover and pipes look like crap... there's just something missing to this bike. It just looks clunky. I think that Polaris is shifting gears from the Victory bikes to the Indian brand. I hope they come out with something to compete with Harley's Dyna line.
This bike will run neck & Neck with a V-Rod. This is a great first run design from Polaris...Bravo !!! Beside the V-Rod, Harley's 2nd attempt at a water cooled Bike are those Fucking Embarrassing Street 500 & 750"...Part Korean & Part from India.....Fucking Joke of an attempt from Harley. For Harley to think outside the Box like Polaris...they need to get their Head out of their Asses.
Only if a girl owns that particular bike. If a man owns it, then it's a man's bike. If that doesn't make you feel any better, the sportster was the bike of choice for the hells angels for decades.
Not a bad looking bike but why the hell does Indian feel the need to put the name "Scout" on the gas tank? It looks ridiculous! Harley does it with some of the Sportster models too. The Indian logo by itself would be fine. I like the bike but to be honest, I would think twice about buying it because of that logo on the tank! ...... I'm 5-6" as well so I am looking forward to riding one to see how it fits.
I probably wouldn't be interested in buying one but I'd sure like a turn on one of em! Cool looking bike, I love that they actually went a bit crazy with the styling
idk why just something about the way the bike looks says CLASS and reminds of old school motorcycles
I love sports bikes but this is the new definition of bad ass
sold 883 and bought scout. love the scout riding. everybody i know said 'more beautiful than your old hd one'. i think so :)
So, what is your impression of riding the Scout compared to your 883? I own a 2001 sportster 883 and I'm curious. thanks.

im 6 foot 5. looking for my first bike. trying to choose between this and the Honda shadow phantom. thoughts?
Who makes the gloves you are wearing in this video?
thnks..... best 1st impression video ....waitin for my test ride
Thanks for the video, can't wait until the tour gets to Florida. I think this will be the bike to get me off the Ninja...maybe. I'm hoping there's enough power and handling capability to keep me entertained. Might do clip-ons and mid controls eventually
Look Forward to Testing This One !! Thanks For Sharing ..

***** Cool, I'll have to try the scout one day. Hopefully I wont be too tall for it. Appreciate it.
So what do you think of sporty 1200T.super low? Thanks man!!!
Good reiview for a newer rider. Youll get the hang of it.

Thanks brother. Good demo and review.

***** However, Budweiser is still a continuous "living" company. The actual Indian company died decades ago.
Chicken Soup So what! So did all the people working there. The focus should be that this is a great bike and made in the USA! Personally I am glad to see another American brand putting out exciting products. Way to go Indian!!
same for harley they claim 1903 and have been bought out a few times
So, let me ask. Would you call this a beginners bike?
That's fine, I enjoy wrenching on my car, so I'd imagine it'll be the same on a bike.

LOL..Polaris makes Indian.
***** I hope so also for any new owners. My experience with polaris goes way way back enough to know i would never own another any polaris
Is it a girls bike
Only if a girl owns that particular bike. If a man owns it, then it's a man's bike. If that doesn't make you feel any better, the sportster was the bike of choice for the hells angels for decades.
your right i love sportsters , i like this now ive seen one great bikes
