    "We will be better."
Kratos has come a long way to redemption, Ragnarok has shown it! His relationship with Atreus and friendship with other characters is one of the best things about this wonderful game.

Because I think that moment, he is reminded of how he had closed his heart to the suffering of mortals during his war on Olympus, and how that had destroyed his homeland and left him a broken man. And he loved Atreus too much to allow him to become another Kratos.
It truly was an incredible moment in an incredible game.

"I have been... falling back to my old ways. Every path I walk, leads back to vengeance."
Those two lines alone just speaks the original GOW 1-3 Kratos from inside the current Kratos, and he's realizing the way he's fighting - sure he has to fight to survive but he's noticing that he's doing it his old ways from the past.

    • @DarkS1ayer100
      @DarkS1ayer100 Год назад +7

It does indeed. Because his greatest battle is with himself. Who he used to be. He has to resist the anger, the rage, the bloodlust every time he goes out, every time a battle starts, every time he takes a hit, every time someone says something he does NOT like, and when someone does or says something to him that hits him personally (like something that affects those he loves), it becomes that much harder for him to resist because it's practically all he knows. He is... WAS a monster, a part of him always will be, because that pain, that trauma, that torment and RAGE is still in him. He feels it every single day just like the scars on his wrists and the ashes on his skin.
I speak from experience with trying to not give into rage and vengeance due to the traumas and tragedies befallen to me and my own family due to actions taken by another.
It doesn't undo the past. But giving into it, is a CHOICE. And one that must be lived with, whether you give into it or not.
I'm thankful everyday that I left my old life behind to start a new one, for family that accepts me, and that I could become the person I want to be, not what my family was trying to make into.
Abuse does more damage than many realize and it's only when seen or felt first hand that the real effects are felt. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. And though I am still dealing with the pain and memories, I know that time of life is over. That it's okay to move on, to let that go.
Some days are harder than others. But I refuse to give into that pain. Those old ways. To not become simply a repeat of the past.
I think in some way, Kratos' story, helped me realize my similarities to him. And helped heal the pain even just a little.
I apologize for rambling and any oversharing here. This is not what I expected to type when I started this, but I do hope that some see the parallels between what Kratos experiences, and those that experience, trauma, abuse, and the damage it can do. Just like how letting it go can heal the mind and body.
      And like they said.
      "We must be better."

To some of us, kratos has been with us most of our lives. As he has grown we have grown with him. These characters have a very deep place in our hearts, these stories, are a gift from developers who won’t ever know how thankful we are that they have created such a universe where we can feel and enjoy so much.
But you who have made this masterpiece. Im thankful for this. You’ve donde this vid so perfectly. This series will forever be a part of me since GOW 1 and im glad to see all these people love this character who back in the day people only saw as edgy and hyperviolent.
Shit gave me goosebumps everytime I saw the old kratos come out. Truth is suffering can turn anyone into a monster, into give in to hatred, but as said in this lates games, we are not our failures, we are who we choose to be.
Seeing kratos get redemption was such a crazy feeling. Seeing himself that he’d be seen not as the ghost of sparta or a monster but a hero of the realms.
Forever will be a GOW fan

Atreus redeemed the Ghost of Sparta because of his desire to not fail his family again. He’s more than a God of War. He’s the true Allfather. The God of Peace. The God…of Redemption

The Greek saga made everyone feel afraid of Kratos and with reasons, Kratos was taken by revenge and manipulated by the interest of others in many games like GOW 1, where we discovered that he was manipulated and blinded by Ares and all the power he had, ended killing his family, or in GOW 3 we see him being manipulated by Athenas interests in getting the power of Pandora's Box to then dominate Greek mythology.
After all these events, manipulations and uses of his person, who wouldn't be resentful of the gods? Kratos always served the gods of Olympus and always suffered something like their "payment", this as much for his choices as for the gods' choices.
When he arrives in Midgard and we see Kratos from "GOW 4" for the first time, we already notice that he is different, and throughout the game this is all proven by showing him evolving his relationship with Atreus and that ends up being VERY BEAUTIFUL due to all his history, mainly him trying to be a good father, teaching his son to fight, supporting him, having problems like many of us have as parents or children, this humanized the great God of War too much, and that is excellent, it shows the development of As a Kratos person, he regrets his mistakes, regrets his revenge-driven choices and everything else, that makes the character have a weight that very few characters have and that owes a lot to his wife and son, Faye and Atreus make the Kratos wanting to be better, even with difficulty, we see that Faye managed to change Kratos for the better and the same can be said about Atreus, but what Faye did with Kratos is something beautiful, she loved him, took care of him, had a family with him and above all, the incen had to be better...
Kratos today is a God of War who is not feared, but respected for having saved the kingdoms of Norse mythology, there is a phrase that defines this moment in the GOW saga and I believe that we should take this speech from Faye to Kratos and Kratos to everyone else which is "We must be better", we must be better people, open our hearts, make good friends, fight for better days and much more... After all, if Kratos succeeded, we can too, here's a lesson of life for us as fans of the saga.
I've been following Kratos since I was 7 years old, he's been part of my life and seeing him admired as a savior God moved me, I couldn't hold back the tears...
Thank you for being part of my life Kratos, and thank you Crusade for this beautiful video of our Kratos.

After playing the norse games a few times I think that the norse gods either have heard dulled down versions of Kratos's story, or think that it is exaggerated like Mimir thought. Because if they heard/ believeed the true story, they wouldn't be challenging and proding Kratos to do something. Even Odin who supposedly knows the truth about Kratos thinks that it's a good idea to threaten/manipulate his son, when the last time someone did something to his child he murdered a Pantheon.

Been here since the first Kratos tribute, and I really love how you harken back to the previous game to build a cohesive story with these, in this one you focused on Kratos'redemption more than anything how he's willing to believe and prepare but also finally trust and open up, the last one was Kratos finally opening up to his own son, I honestly wish you added some of his dialogue with Thor simply because of how powerful that moment was, but yeaaaahhhhh kinda get it woulda screwed up a bit with the thread of him simply acknowledging his shortcomings and fixing past mistakes he made the last game, but man what a beautiful edit to most probably one of if not the best written character I've had the pleasure of experiencing

I just found your channel the other day and it is already one I visit daily. Love the way you edit and capture emotion and character! Ragnarok is my favorite game of all time and you captured Kratos' journey perfectly.
Would you ever do some Dragon Ball Z edits? Your Troy one is also so damn goooooood!

Your tributes are awsome you definitely deserve more views and loved Thor's tribute aswelll i have been replaying it :D and i have request for you can you do a Baldur tribute because he is the most tragic and complex villian in these two games i think our boy deserves a tribute with your talents.
