    I’m using LECA at the moment, but definitely going to try the pon after watching you. You explain it all so well. Thank you 😊

    Hi, I have a question about fertilizing. I use the cache pot method, would I just add fertilizer to the water that sits at the bottom and then leave it there or should I let it sit for some time and then change the water for a clear one? Also, how often would you recommend flushing? Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your video!

    I just use pon with regular nursery pots with drainage holes so I flush using shower method when watering. Do I just fertilise after flushing?

    Ok you made an video of flushing to, I just saw this, thanx 🙈😁
    Is the flushing also required if you use mainly rainwater with dilluted fertilizer?

    • @michelejones4282
      @michelejones4282 3 года назад

      Id say yes because not completely "pure" & also the fertilizer would build up. That's just my opinion 🤪💜

    I always thought that what if I don't flush ever but giving plant plain water once twice a month to give a chance to use that built up minerals as fertilizers? I think same thing for leca too.. I haven't tried it long term but.. Why wouldn't it work?

    I just started using pon like a month ago and so far my plants are doing great. Didn’t realize i had to flush it like i do with leca but i guess it makes sense. Thanks for the tips about fertilizing.

    • @PlantingPlants
      @PlantingPlants  4 года назад +1

      Hey Julia,
      I used to lower the pH but since I'm using a fertilizer that keep the pH neutral I don't think I have to do that anymore (not 100% sure tho but that's what I've heard).

    Hi! Very helpful info! So plants grow water roots in pon just like if they are in leca then...?

    • @kuppelhagen
      @kuppelhagen 2 года назад

      I asked a soil scientist about this, and she said that the plant grows soil roots, and can later be transferred to pure soil without problem

    Hi, I am confused about whether you need a water reservoir like leca when the planter has a wick? Do you need to keep the water 1/3 the height of the planter height
