    Smashing jackets Andy. The blue shields with the white cross are the insignia of the 52th Lowland Division. There also exists a seperate 'Mountain' title that can be placed under the shield. (The Lowland division was/is trained in mountain warfare.)

    • @JimTimber
      @JimTimber  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hello mate !! Hope all is well bro !.. I guess the collar was stitched for reinforcement !

    Good video thanks...I have a size 6 Dpm one made by Smiths Derby also.... contract number dates it to approx 1971 or 1972 nice condition, I think its a Large regular size...I think your size 7's are Large long aren't they?...

    • @JimTimber
      @JimTimber  11 дней назад

      The sizing is confusing ! 7 would be medium long.. 8 and 9 large long. Your six is Large medium. 3 is large short. Thanks for watching ! iacmc.forumotion.com/t7339-british-sizing-chart-smock

    I was given a camo jacket about 20 years ago. No lining, no hood attachments and not brilliant at keeping the cold wind out.
    But it was free and serves as an overall when I’m gardening

    Great review and comparison of these two early DPM smocks. I had a similar 60 pattern smock (OD, not DPM) years ago but for the life of me I can't remember whether it was also 3/4 lined. I preferred the 68 pattern body but preferred the 60 pattern collar!! Nice DPM pattern on your examples.

    • @JimTimber
      @JimTimber  7 месяцев назад

      Hey Al bro The old OD had the same rig as the early DPM set up.. 3/4 liner and those massive draw strings ! I have a couple of them in the attic resplendent with hoods !! lol .. Yes the old stitched collar is a real winner and the little button flap concept ! I love the old 1960 patt. kit.. there was a company called 'What Price Glory' who made very close detail repros of those coats for a third of the price. I have one in the attic and when I find it ..I will do a video all about it dedicated to you dear friend !!.. until then.. all the very best wishes as always !!
