I have the GC3200 that adds the ability to read laminated glass and even reports the thickness of the laminate. Some may say these meters are expensive and they are. They are also the best investment I have made because it sets the bar high for every other company bidding the same project.

for a quick and easy determination of thickness or LowE location inside of a laminated lite, I almost always grabbed the MG1500 thickness gauge. it's about the cheapest of the EDTM tools, but it was my favorite one.

      That's cool.

@@gregcorwin8316 Absolutely. That's probably my most used meter. I'll use that to quickly check every glass is installed correctly (if there is a low-e, it's always on the same surface).

@@JonRacesCars 😁👍 At least you HOPE that the LowE is always on the correct surface, doesn't always happen though, which is one of the reasons why I had a collection of EDTM meters.
Over the years I've had the opportunity to visit, and/or consult on, more than a few homes and other buildings because the glass color in one or more of the windows didn't match the glass color in others, often with laminated glass involved.
With one notable exception, it always ended up that the glass was installed backwards into the window sash and the coating was on the wrong surface.
      Thank you EDTM!

3:13 that's definitely a great tool to have. Quite sizable investment, but makes us professionals look even more professional
