      If they had a legitimate reason that they couldn't move, I'd understand if he kept his mouth shut, got a gun (maybe a large dog or two) and installed that damned alarm. Even then it would require a long and sobering talk.
      But being perfectly able to move away and still doing nothing other than fantasising of a lost fight? Dude has his priorities messed up. This guy never heard that in a knife fight the loser dies on the streets and the winner in the ambulance.
      PD: people tend to underestimate how powerful large dogs can be. If properly trained, 3 dogs have over a 90% chance of taking down someone with an AR or shotgun in a home invasion scenario. The proportions are true given any amount of attackers that wouldn't need National Guard deployment.

    If he wants to indulge his ego, fine! Tell him to go to the brother RIGHT NOW and start something. But OP needs to get her and her children out of harm's way! @RHuipe13 4 месяца назад +4

      The dumbest part is that even if he was right about being able to take the brother, there’s still a very high danger to the kids being hurt or traumatized. Like even if his ideal scenario plays out the kids could still wake up to the window smashed and their crazed uncle in their home, that’s something that can traumatize them.

    • @reflex9238
      @reflex9238 4 месяца назад +1

      @@RHuipe13 He most likely didn't think all that through, like I've been saying in other comments since some people don't understand some people just want to fight and enjoy it, doesn't have necessarily anything to do with ego, however there's a time and place and its called MMA. Not like that's likely to happen anymore as OP said she and the kids will be leaving the house while the husband stays behind in which case you do get the best of both worlds. The husband can indulge in wanting to fight in a reckless way, the brother will be arrested and has no way out, and the children are safe so its practically the ideal solution since running away isn't going to solve the issue either.

    • @RHuipe13
      @RHuipe13 4 месяца назад +1

      @@reflex9238 I agree he didn’t think it through and I wouldn’t hold it against him if it was an initial reaction and that’s all. It’s the fact he stuck to it and made moving so much more difficult for op which is why I would say he is an idiot and needs to get over himself. It also sounds like he is very wrong, considering she describes the brother as over six foot and her husband as much smaller he’d definitely struggle in a straight up fight. Add on to that he would probably show up with a weapon and the idea “I’d just kick his ass” becomes even more dumb.

      This is true. Hubby says that he can stop him. I think hubby is tired of all the threats and fear that BIL is causing. He has known that BIL is serious, not just fantasizing. I believe he came to that conclusion much sooner than OP or any of her family. Now after all the threats,BIL being hospitalized and released in no time, the cops always saying that they can't do anything, he's had it. I believe that hubby knows there's 1 way to actually end all of this BS. He realizes that even moving to another state doesn't guarantee safety. He's willing to end BIL and put all of this crap to an end. OP doesn't see any of this. She sees it as him playing "Big Man".
      Right now brother standing trial. There's only so much prison time the judge can give. Unless everyone is lucky and brother never "walks" out of prison or the brother tries to attack the judge. He will find OP. Brother will start all over again.

    People need to stop making excuses like they are just unwell or they can fix them. If a person needs professional help then they need professional help. I had a family friend have a phycotic episode and started thinking people were after them and people poisoned them, and i was the one looking after them and because i had to make sure they take meds and food they started to think i was doing something and would start locking me out then start following me everywhere even to the toilet, going through my stuff and even started stealing stuff from my purse like id money even toiletries and cloths. They started threatening me that they knew what i was doing (they acused me of horrible things) and they were going to get "rid" of me and i told thier family and got them excusses as they didnt want to section them. They attacked me a few times each times same excuse it wasnt till they needed hospitalised for thier physical health as they refused to take med for pre exisiting health conditions that they got sectioned. Story 1: i don't think husband is as bad as people think.
    Look at this from a different perspective. Wife up and decides her family is moving without talking to the husband first and decides they need to move so far away that they need brand new jobs.
    She doesnt know anything about buying a home or even how a mortgage works and expects husband to just "do it."
    Husbsnd gets fed up and gets admittedly nessecarily snarky with her but she casually drops that she's been making him read books to teach him to do things how she wants them done.
    Wife has a legitimate concern but it looks like it may be a "cry wolf" situation. She is regularly controlling and neurotic and the husband is getting fed up with it. "You have to find us a new house and find yourself a new job" was just the final straw.

    • @reflex9238
      @reflex9238 4 месяца назад

      I also do wanna mention that let's pretend that moving isn't the biggest challenge in the world and everything was done well without a hitch. Okay what happens when the brother finds their new address, because one can't keep moving an infinite amount of times as they'd easily be left on the street after a while. Husband strikes me as the guy who wanted to fight for the sake of it, and forgot about the safety of his children something which I believe the wife should definitely have communicated with him on that. Either way I don't see what's the problem with just leaving the house temporarily with the kids while the husband stays to deal with the situation, as it beats having to sell the house and having to move which even then doesn't guarantee that he won't should during the process as this all takes time or find their new address. It would guarantee the safety of their children and if they're paranoid he'll find them then someone else can stay with the wife and the children while the husband stays at the house, because in both cases if the brother does something well he's landing himself in cuffs by law enforcement and get a lengthy sentence which would give them all the piece of mind they want.

For everyone saying that its all about ego its not, some guys just actually want to fight and enjoy doing so they're like real life Saiyans, however like I said there's a time and place for that and its called taking up any martial art to get it out of one's system in a non harmful and of course non idiotic way. If OP's description of him being a great husband is true then surely if she talked to him about how he's choosing his own selfish desires to want to fight someone, over the safety of his children by letting them stay there it would surely snap him out of it and bring him back into reality as this looks like something he didn't fully think about as the only thing on his mind is enjoying a fight.
    For dealing with the brother since he's been in and out of the psych ward if he does commit a crime then he's getting sentenced without any second chances or he'd be committed to the worse kind of psych ward with no way out as he'd get the real life insanity plead which for anyone that doesn't know is far worse than a jail or prison sentence. Given that the husband seems gunho about staying at the house to deal with him, I'd say OP should just let him if he does try to get OP and the children to stay then I'd consider the husband AH. Unfortunately given the restrictions of the law the brother would need to actually do something to show he'd be a danger to others, so if the husband does stay for the situation go down then the brother is done as now there'd be evidence of the brother being a danger, because unfortunately running away isn't going to put him behind bars and it'd cause more stress in the long term since she'd be in constant fear. Basically if OP really wants this all done and not to be living in constant fear someone has to be the fall guy and in this case the husband inadvertently has decided to be the fall guy due to his want to fight, so looks like the situation would solve itself.

    I feel for the woman in the first story, but honestly, the way she's wording it makes it sound like she's blaming the Autism for her brother's actions.Just because someone has low/no empathy doesn't make them want to kill people, there's clearly something else going on behind the scenes, but the fact she keeps bringing up the Autism seriously makes it seem like she's demonizing it because her brother happens to have it.

    I will say this that the whole situation with the 1st story is bullshit. Most likely, the police and FBI were getting flack and shit from the mother, which is why they couldn't do anything. Because yes, it is a crime to buy weapons with the intent to kill. His very confessions, as well as the fact that he lied his way out of the mental hospital and tried to do it once before, and even the doctors stated that the medication wasn't working. At this point, he would be viewed as a threat and put in a cell or permanent mental institution housing as he is a risk to others. He clearly shows Sociopathic and Psycopathic tendencies. There is no way the doctors and police would behave this way without someone trying to cause problems.

    Story 2 ATZ and other treatments such as prophylactic meds are loosing their effectiveness as the virus evolves so yeah I would worry if I was that guys mom. It was called the gay disease back when my aunt got it and we watched so many die and be treated as untouchable by medical professionals. The fear is not unfounded. It’s unlikely her son will get it but the possibility is still very much there and if he can’t take the meds for whatever medical reasons… it is not going to go well for him. BF’s Mom is definitely old enough to remember the days I remember and has every right to fear for her son.

    I think something like “ I don’t want my husband and brother to kill each other. “ would have worked better. Telling a man that he can’t protect his family in his home isn’t ever going to be productive, regardless of the truth of the statement. If OP wanted kindness from her husband she should have lead with it. OP’s example of kindness was just him agreeing with her, not disagreeing kindly. Overall a garbage situation and I hope everyone is safe, except the brother, obviously.

      I'd pissed that no one not even in the comments has the few braincells to you know actually get the guy in prison so they can all rest peacefully. The wife leaving with the kids and staying at a family member's house for safety while the husband deals with the situation so even if he doesn't win that fight he'd have evidence of an attempted breaking and entering, possession of a deadly weapon, and attempted murder. I don't understand how no one has even thought of this, the wife and kids get protected, while the husband works on sending the guy to jail which everything works out great.

    Story 1 the husband is an idiot for not wanting to leave. But the wife is just insane. She's scared of someone who literally in a mental hospital that refuses to let them out. She's one of those "scared of guns" types and sounds like a Karen.

The wife and kids can all go stay at a trusted family member, while the husband stays back to deal with it and regardless of the outcome of what happens to the husband in that situation the brother is getting in cuffs if he seriously tries anything. Story 1: OP needs to divorce her egotistical husband and have full custody over her children ASAP. I’m sorry but I doubt OP’s brother will ever recover or be rehabilitated, he’s just proving time and time again he isn’t willing to fix himself for the better. I’m just pulling a leg here but I 100% suspect that OP’s brother could be relapsing for attention (OP mentioned their parents are unemotionally available) and craves any attention from others, negative or positive. I just cannot with OP’s husband, this loser is more concerning with proving his precious high school fantasy than protecting his children and actually doing something about the ordeal. ATP OP should just let him get his ass handed before leaving for good, what is the point in staying in a marriage when your partner prioritizes their sensitive ego over their loved ones

    • @reflex9238
      @reflex9238 4 месяца назад

      Odd because what do you think is going to happen to the wife and children when he finds their new address? I've mentioned it so many times in the comments as there's no way to avoid this confrontation only being prepared so the situation is in their favor, which would both entire the safety of the wife and children and get the brother arrested so he no longer becomes a threat to them. Having the will to act is one thing, being a coward and hoping for the best is just as equally delusional since its clear that this is not going to stop even if they do move in which all that money and effort would be wasted on pointlessly moving.
