I watched all of Brian’s games on Wargames Live and they were awesome. Army looks great! I do have a question, your last opponent had infantry models that all looked alike and Brian used Ghazzie’s sweep attack on infantry and after attacking he was told they were elite infantry with three wounds, blunting the attack. In light of the discussion, shouldn’t Brian’s opponent have let him use Strike attacks instead of Sweep to have a more effective interaction? It sounds like Brian and Nick, and I also would have graciously allowed attacks to be done as Strikes for the 4 damage. No offenes, but seemed a little sus, in light of discussing takebacks and such. Anyway, great job with Pre-buffed Orks. Made me super happy to see as an Ork player.
Literally nothing stopping Brian from asking Liam what the stats were on the unit before rolling dice and making decisions.
Does it suck? Absolutely. Do I think I would've let my opponent change from sweep to strike? Absolutely. But it's a high level game and people are not inclined to help you make your decisions if you don't ask the questions.
First, much love to the art of war crew, you guys have inspired me, and thank you for giving me the strength to confidently step on this path of competitive play as a blind player, I am preparing for my first game against Gray knights on the fourth, any recommendations would be awesome, I am playing Eldar Also, Brian, you sound like an awesome dude, I am gonna say this, as someone who never really liked or, because when I find their concept of it, funny, and like homeboy, said I found them a little simplistic in how they would operate, besides like magic And being able to do magical things, you literally make me reevaluate that, I love that tactic you described being able to like multiple units in place, and it's crazy because I just listened to a Harlequin versus sons game, and he basically won the game by doing just that, tying them up and making it so they couldn't do much. And he did this in 10th edition, which I thought was astounding.
Hey this was a great listen and really insightful not only on the orkz but tournament play as well. I went to one last week and did really bad I ended up leaving (which I’m not proud of) but I felt at first that a good part of it was dice rolls, but after listening to this I think I could have made my list a little better and could have placed things better as well.
Never blame the dice. Unless the games within like 10 points, dice are truly almost never why we lose games by larger margins. Could be a bad match-up, mistakes in movement or deployments, lists etc etc. You admitted what went truly wrong in your opinion at the end anyway! Keep your chin up, always think on what you can do better. Blaming dice will never help. Even when they do screw us over hard 😂
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!
