I was heavy into coin hunting in the 80s. Found a lot of silver coins, most memorable were, 2 Washington, 1 slq and a Barber stacked on top of each other, 3 dimes 1840, 41 O 42 O and a 41 half dime that was in uncirculated condition in the same hole and 36 silver coins in 4 hour's in a little park in the worst part of town I just stumbled on. I miss doing that but can't afford a detector these days. Love watching you guys and wish I was there with you. You have a lot older history. Never found a large penny here. The 1840s coins came from a civil war campground. Have a bag full of mini balls and some buttons. No gold coin though.

As a kid coin collector Walking Liberty half dollars showed up in change quite a bit (early 60s) Of course not nearly as much as Franklins and Kennedys, both boring to me. And less often, the Standing Liberty quarters showed up. I've never beheld a Standing Liberty in uncirculated condition. They seem to have some bad wear issues on the Liberty side. I never knew what was going on with them for a long time. Really a nice coin when they came out of the mint. I never saw those, of course, since they were already years old when I was a kid.
By the time I got interested, the days of Liberty coinage was over. Whomever makes the decisions had already decided to put old fart presidents on every coin. As an 11 and 12 year old kid, those interested me none! Even Ben - none. I loved animal, Indian, liberty coins - the mythology coinage. Oh well.

loving this vid Kurt! You're the man bro! I Dug a 43 walking half too last year at a place called Battle Creek Park in St. Paul. It came with friends: 5 merc dimes and a rosey 46. Walkers are one of the Most beautiful coins ever. Throw out some advice, Always re-check your plugs!

Still learning my AT Pro and hope to find my first ever silver this year, in the ground that is. In the last two weeks I have found two silver quarters in my pocket change. A 47 and a 62. Go figure.
