We were able to do a little crabbing during our trip to the beach! Ended up catching a couple dozen tasty blue crabs. How many of yall usually go crabbing when visiting the beach?
Thanks brotha! Yea it's relatively easy and inexpensive to catch a bushel of crabs which would cost a whole lot in stores...you'll have to give it a try! Have a good one man!
Thanks! We appreciate that! And that's awesome - yea we go crabbing all the time down here in NC - great way to spend the day with family. Hope you have a good one!
Hello, thank you for this wonderfull video. Its a lot of fun watching a new way to catch crabs and I love the enegry in the video. Reminds me of the first I went to the OBX. Best of wishes to you.
Love the content. The crab things are called drop lines for anyone that wants to know. You can also use metal coat hangers and make your own. Good luck crabbing and fishing.🤘
Another good video. I like to use zip ties around the base of the drumstick and loop a parachute cord to the zip tie. It’s cheap and quick too. I would lay the net down and pull the crabs into it..... you all did great! Catch n Cook!?
Ahhhhh that's a great idea - we'll have to give that a try next time! Hahaha we'll have to do a catch and cook next - my aunt makes some crazy good Maryland crab soup! Thanks for checking it our brotha!
Great technique! I also crab this way but I have a pretty cool trick that I've figured out over the years. If you find the deepest spot, the biggest crabs will gather around there and as long as the sun is above you, you can throw your drumstick up into the air and into that hole. You want it to come splashing down like a bird landing in the water. The biggest crabs you have ever seen will jump off the bottom and GRAB the chicken! If you get one of these, good luck getting it back in. It will be the biggest crab of your life. I guarantee it!
@@StopFishingStartCatching No problem! It won't work every time, and it might not work at all, but when it DOES WORK it is really something. I am guessing it could take between 100-500 throws for it to happen. The weird thing about it, is you have to throw it further than you usually do and it's all all about the splash down. You will sometimes see it when people are throwing their bait away at the end of the day, they throw it further out because they don't care anymore and it happens, everyone crowds around to look at the huge crab that's just too far away to get it back.
We live near the coast so walmart usually carries them! But pretty much any fishing store should have them as well! Thanks for watching and good luck hunting downing some crabs!
hmmm I'm not sure brotha -we usually just catch them so not too sure what the going price is. But I'd say if we are in a good area we can usually catch about a dozen in an hour or two so if you look at it that way it's about $35 bucks an hour if you were to do it yourself! But thanks for watching!
Nice we do the same thing as well! And you are right it's cheap and you can tie it right where the wing part connects with the drum stick! Hope you are doing well my friend!

How do you know if it will be blue crab or duganess in the water . Do crawfish come on there or how do you just know it will be crab , only . Im new just Intrested I want to try crabbing one day
we only have blue crab where we crab. however when we go to a different spot the techniques work for crawfish as well. definitely give it a go its a blast
Oh interesting - do you have to do that in deep water? Or will that work in shallow water - I figured they would get spooked - I'll have to try it though thanks for the tip my man!
@@StopFishingStartCatching any water level! Im glad you seem like a nice person! Here in Louisiana people laugh at you when you go from the top … a lot of people don’t like to learn but you seem nice thanks man. I was expecting a rude response lol
This was in North Carolina! Gotcha - yes where we were they were so plentiful you could literally just walk and scoop them up - probably took 2-3 hours for 20ish crabs? If you want more specific locations let me know. Have a good one!
We actually tried this once as a test - the chicken ended up catching more crabs. But it wasn't super scientific (the traps were in different areas/not right next to each other). But both have worked well for us in the past.
No I don't use checking I use fish I got a couple of crab traps they called crab hotels is three ways getting inside of them but they can't come out the factory entrances on the crab traps make a go in but they can't come out you wait every hour to pick up the next get six to eight in each trap that's good for me
This is in North Carolina - I forget the exact island but it was either Ocean Isle, Oak island or Holden beach! Good luck on your crab hunt! Have a great day man!

Like the coat hanger idea. that and some lead would do the trick

@Ultra Clips YT That is crazy, will definitely be testing that out when we go next! I love some monster crabs. Less work for more meat!
Hell yeah boys (and girls) get em!
Hahahaha the girls will be happy to know you included them - thanks for watching buddy! Have a good one!
Cool my bro ...wonderful place👍👍,, i like crab,, succes for you n have a nice day.. 👍👍😊
Thanks buddy...I love crabs too! Can't beat em! Have a good day my friend!
I once did some crab fishing off the little piers in florida with just line and a bucket no bait needed
That's wild - I'll have to give that a try! Thanks for watching!
i e never seen this method i’ve only seen it with nets this is cool
Thanks brotha! Yea we love to do all sorts of crabbing! Always a fun time - have a good one!
Where'd you get your wooden net?

I am paying 70 dollars a dozen for Jimmies 1......is this good ?

Here in Israel we catch them with chicken wings, it is cheaper and you can tie the wing easily👍

Jews aren't supposed to eat crab. Explain that to the rabbi.

Try putting the net down in the water, pull the string high, and scoop from under. Much higher success rate lol

Saw this after my comment. This is what I use to do when I went “crabbin’!!”
Hahaha we always are trying to learn more and yea there's too much nastiness in the world as is - excited to give this a try! Have a good one!
Now I definitely have to give it a try! I can't believe I never heard of this before!
Is the chicken raw or cooked?
Raw chicken!
Caught 1 had about 2 more at the dock , 3 channel cats over foot long , big soft shell turtle, had my 20 lb line break
Hey yea. holy smokes that must have been a monster
How do you render them unconscisous before you rip them apart. Or do you just go ahead and rip them apart while they're still alive??????
when we eat them we cook them first. that what your asking?
Where y'all at?...how long it takes to get a couple of dozens? ...I rarely catch two at a time I usually have to work about three or four lines

Where in North Carolina. I live twelve miles from topsail beach
@@StopFishingStartCatching hi I'd like to know
I've heard of a bun hairdo. That must be what you call a biscuit? Lol
Hahahaha! Have a good day brotha!
@@StopFishingStartCatching she very pretty just in a playful mood that day.
Have you tried or know someone who tried using both fish and chicken in the same trap as bait?
We actually tried this once as a test - the chicken ended up catching more crabs. But it wasn't super scientific (the traps were in different areas/not right next to each other). But both have worked well for us in the past.
What if you tie a couple of monofilament snatch loops (like for rabbits), then the crabs legs’ll get caught and no need to net ‘em!
Interesting idea! Might have to give that a try! Thanks for watching!
Where's Area?
We caught them down in North Carolina! Have a good day!
I like using a trout line.
Ahhh good call...I'll have to try that! Any type specifically? Thanks for watching friend!
Fresh bunker 100 percent works better than chicken
Oh cool I'll have to give that a try next! Thanks for the recommendation!

right on, thats a good dinner there

Crabbing with chicken is horrible for the ecosystem. You should really be using something like bunker.
huh did not know that. how do the two differ in their effects on the ecosystem?
