The ECH was brilliantly played by Bob Picardo. In reality, had Voyager had such a program up and running efficiently there are numerous occasions where the ECH would have made better decisions than Captain Janeway. For a start he was not susceptible to stress emotions, extreme fatigue etc that the human crew were nor to telepathic influences or conventional pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Surely he should have been used as a routine back up to KJ allowing her some proper "off duty" days?

I loved Voyager, but the concept of it didn't quite reach the potential it had. It could easily have outshined ds9 and next generation had they done a few things differently. With a little more maquis and a little less kazon seasons 1 and 2 could have been better. The vidians should have been included in more episodes including a visit to their home world. By the end of the run they had watered down the Borg too much. Not that I was disappointed in them, but the Borg were scarier for the most part in next gen. And there were a few aliens they could have used more, like the krenin. Seven of nine was a brilliant addition to the crew though.
