By far one of the best I've ever seen. Every single actor nails it, the dialogue is witty and endearing, the action scenes are top notch, and the werewolves are perfect. So chilling and terrifying. The producer was bang on about CG, with this they genuinely look real and the lighting makes them even more intimidating. Easily one of my favourite films.
This is definitely in my top ten movies. Everything about it just works so well to make a terrifying experience. Sean P. is bloody marvellous in this film ! Never did understand why he hasn't been in more major films.
Simply put, it's the best werewolf film ever. The cast is fantastic, and the lack of cgi makes the movie. See the turd that is 'I am legend' to prove my point.
It's definitely the best werewolf film ever made, one that demands a sequel, and it's #3 on my list of all-time favorite movies. Next to no CGI, which spoils movies (just see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to see what I mean), excellent actors, elements of suspense (the whole thing after Wells' surgery, where Cooper becomes aware of Ryan's tranquil nature, and just calmly points out how he's gone from near death to "sitting pretty" gets my skin tingling every time), awesome scenes, and incredible MP5 submachine guns that sound like the Aliens pulse rifles (but possibly better) make this movie one of the best ones ever.
im with you all, dog soldiers really is something special, the acting, the story, the comical dialogue at points throughout the film, its got everything you would want to see ram packed in a short period of time. I watch this film once a year or around that marker and i enjoy it every single time
Without a doubt this is the best werewolf movie of all time. I watched it again last night (for about the 20th time) and it never gets old. The dialogue and camaraderie between the actors is stellar. Love it.
This quite aged seniorr has watched this film at least 6 times, and I'm doing it again now. The cast is superb. As a decades-long civilian working with the United States guard and Reserve components, I have to say these are real soldiers. It is one of my favorite movies of all the monster supernatural films I have seen I have seen, up there for me with Signs, Alien, and Werewolf in London. among others. The dog scene early on is hardly gratuitous, especially when we see the sheep herder dog, border collie in subsequent scenes.
This really is a good film. Been one of my favorites that I always come back to and watch every so often. I have the dvd. Proper English humour it's funny, scary and thrilling at the same time.
This is the firs time I've seen this documentary. An absolutely fascinating insight into the characters in this classic british horror film, and in my humble oppinion, The best weirwolf film ever made, very dark and very intense and very gory, just superb, I've seen it umpteen times and never tire of it. I hope they make a sequel, but please do not let hollywood anywhere near it.
One of my favorites from my childhood, my dad and I use to watch it all the time it came on, 20 years later it's still my favorite werewolf film, the director did such an excellent job at making this and the werewolves were phenomenal it scared me with those jump scares every time and I hate the element of surprise lol ever since then I've been obsessed with the horror genre
such a great fucking film i remember watching for the first time with no knowledge of what i was going into besides the dvd case. Man , what i would do to rewatch again without any idea of what to expect... such a great iconic piece of not only werewolf films but brittish film
I don't wish for a sequel. I wish for more films that don't rely on shitty CGI that looks fake as fuck & takes you out of the movie. Even cartoons look more realistic than Avatar's computer game cutscene shit. Hollywood & Americans in general are completely brainwashed for anything trendy or new, & never take film making seriously. It's just about big budgets, EPIC music, CGI & no character development. That's why British films always have an edge.
KINDLE there was supposed to be a sequel but they never got past finishing the script. The script was finished but it just never got anywhere, and they were planning on still using practical effects and no CGI, so a lot of people were disappointed.
caught this on TV late the other night, missed the first 20 minutes, came in when they arrived at the cottage, even so its very compelling and superbly done..and it's bloody scary and nerve jangling! superb film, it should have had a wider audience, I don't think it got a theatrical release in the USA, unless anyone knows otherwise? so many horror flicks miss the mark but this hits the bullseye, I've already ordered the DVD, doesn't seem to be a blu ray available in the UK tho.
There was a planned sequel called "Dog Soldiers: Fresh Meat". Picking up from the end of the first film, Cooper staggers round the Highlands until he comes across a brigade of US Marines on a training exercise. They rescue him, debrief him and send in their own team to investigate and find that there's loads of other werewolves living in that area. It's in development hell right now tho
Maybe in Texas they identified it with the Alamo, they also like to shoot guns in Texas and there is plenty of that in the film to keep them happy, I mean its Rio Bravo and the Alamo all rolled into one ( and Zulu of course) :-) Coincidentally one of the worst werewolf films was also shot in Luxembourg, "American Werewolf In Paris" dreadful. :-)
This is one movie I wish they would make a sequel to! I even have a great story for the second one. Cooper, who is now a former soldier is working for the US government trying to hunt down a clan of werewolves in the US. Things go bad when the werewolves turn out to be way more numerous than they had originally anticipated.
The thing about the missing - murdered explorers , is a thing took by the Zevaudan Beast story - that werewolves were like the descriptions of that beast ... I think Neal was inspired from that story and a little from the story of Petter Stumpf ! The Werewolf of Bendburg at 16 th century , or the Sawney Bean , scottish - incesting - cannibal family ! The other soldier part , maybe was an inspiration from his memos from army , or a fiction prosthetic , to give to the film that atmospheric , combat with paranormal ! Whatever it was , that two style combinations made a very badass and gory film .
Being an actor in a werewolf movie and WAITING to see the werewolf must be nerve-racking. Just imagine you're putting so much effort into your character for weeks, then you get to set one day and it's a laughable rubber suit. You'd have to be SO professional to not let that affect the rest of the work.
The American Werewolf in London seemed more wolf than human. The one from Bad Moon seems like the modern depiction, Dog Soldiers? Eerie and seemingly legit.
This Is My Favourite British Werewolf Film Ever & the gag reel they did always makes me laugh, I,m Glad there wasn't much CGI in this Film, It,s True To Much CGI, Ruins the Film, I felt for the x3 men who were the Werewolves The leg Extensions they wore Must of been so Painful to wear for long periods of time Thanks Bob Keen for the SPFX of the Werewolves Excellent (100%).
Jordy Walker there was a sequel planned, where the survivor and Sam (the dog) met up with the US team that they were meeting up to train with (as the US team never had any conflict with the wolves due to them being focused on the British team, plus the US team was supposed to be much, much larger then the British squad), and then we found out that a 2nd British team was there to train, but got attacked by another part of the pack and spent the night in a cave (with more survivors due to the cave being a one way entrance, so they had a choke point to keep the wolves out), who arrived and told the US team leader about the wolves, and at this point the US leader was getting tired of hearing about werewolves. But as he was getting ready to have them tied up and detained while they waited for pick up, they hear howls in the distances, dozens of howls. As apparently the wolves that both British teams fought were merely "watchdogs" meant to protect the territory while the bulk of the pack was away. It was going to be basically the first movie, but with much larger scale combat, and it looked like it would have been really, really good.
producer makes some good points about non CGi, I think the main point is that in this film the threat is real, I mean the werewolf is right there in the same room as the actors, its a physical three dimensional character, well of course its a guy in a suit but even so they are fucking scary big creatures because they are there, they are subject ti the same gravity as the other characters, the problem with Cgi is that its not really scary because you know the monsters are created on a computer.
She and her younger self went back in their time line and saw pepper standing their trying to capture a werewolf but wolf cye came be hain the coroner and attacked pepper group and younger christy and older christy want back to younger christy time line
I love this movie yo I dream about this I put ronin warriors and dog soldiers together in my dream me and the ronin warriors was fighting against Talpa and the dark warlords and zachery. wolf pack are future selfs try to find their mates who turn in to werewolf’s that they went in the young’s ronin warriors time line to help their younger themselves out against zachery wolf pack but the younger christy didn’t not the her friends and boyfriend cye to fight Zach wolf pack that she told her older selfs that she need helpe to fight against Zachery wolf pack but her future self told her that she and cye got married and she was so happy

I love the Bad Moon werewolf! I'm currently reading the book it's based on.

No Bad Moon was good until the werewolf opened his mouth..Looked fake and saw the plastic in the mouth..
Best British horror film ever! Everyone concerned with this movie should be given an award.
True
Absolutely, it's an absolute classic. it couldn't have been cast any better.
✨️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️
This is definitely in my top ten movies. Everything about it just works so well to make a terrifying experience.
Sean P. is bloody marvellous in this film !
Never did understand why he hasn't been in more major films.
Great acting, beats all other warewolf movies.
True
Simply put, it's the best werewolf film ever. The cast is fantastic, and the lack of cgi makes the movie. See the turd that is 'I am legend' to prove my point.
I agree wif you and dog soilders dog soilders was on last night watched it on e4 and it is amazing and really good for a low budget movie
It's definitely the best werewolf film ever made, one that demands a sequel, and it's #3 on my list of all-time favorite movies. I loved this movie. Werewolf looks real.
Fuck CGI!
Without a doubt this is the best werewolf movie of all time. I watched it again last night (for about the 20th time) and it never gets old. The dialogue and camaraderie between the actors is stellar. Love it.
Great movie and the werewolves were very very scary!
Too fuckin' right, Terry.
One of the best werewolf movies ever made.😊 Lines actors location perfect. Everybody involved in this movie should be very proud.
One of my favourites. Everything's perfect - actors, script, location...
This quite aged seniorr has watched this film at least 6 times, and I'm doing it again now. The cast is superb. THIS WAS THE BEST WERE MOVIE EVER. That scene where she is like 'it's too late' and they all stand up had me sleeping with the lights on a while.
And it's that time of the month, just classic.
This really is a good film. Been one of my favorites that I always come back to and watch every so often. I have the dvd. Proper English humour it's funny, scary and thrilling at the same time.

i remember watching for the first time with no knowledge of what i was going into besides the dvd case.
Man , what i would do to rewatch again without any idea of what to expect...

Id love to see a prequel to this movie from the point of view of the werewolf family, i think it would be fascinating
Oh hell yes!!!
Needs a sequel
Agreed with no CGI the acting is what made this great film in my opinion
@the most based person on this board. Who cares? It would still be awesome. We need more werewolf movies, at least good ones.
There was going to be one about the guy we saw in th beginning and cooper in a insane hospital but it got canceled
2024 nearly 2025 and Dog Soldiers is still the best werefolf movie ever made !!
Love this movie. Have watched it many times.
LOVE this movie!
16:43 probably the best werewolf design ever.
True
It's the (very English) squad interactions that I like the most. Yes, top of the line movie of it's type.
I'm ex british army infantry and the dialogue between the soldiers is absolutely spot on.
I rented this from blockbuster on DVD, and recorded it on to a VHS tape, I then watched the VHS until the VHS would barely play.
one of my favourite films ever great movie and cgi would of spoiled it agree with that
Absolutely, keep it real.

The American Werewolf in London seemed more wolf than human. The one from Bad Moon seems like the modern depiction, Dog Soldiers? Eerie and seemingly legit.

What's scary is that the Werewolves can kill on bright daylight and have control over their transformation.
great movie, plus its funny as hell.
I hope there will not be a sequel, especially with the US government included.
