Have to disagree with Neil Marshall, the warewolf in American warewolf in London does not look like just a dog, John Landis said he didnt want his warewolf to look like some guy in a suit, he wanted his to look like a hound from hell, and Tom Baker delivered on that premis! A massive wolf from hell, yes its a quadruped design, but that does'nt make it any less intimidating and vicious looking
Chain of command gave the orders for the spec ops squad to use there normal team as a decoy but the spec ops were found by the werewolves first was messed up they just put these young men as expendable just like how it would actually be in warfare sad part of really thinking about it no one is coming to help that and even if you got word out they still wouldnt come for you..
such a great fucking film i remember watching for the first time with no knowledge of what i was going into besides the dvd case. Man , what i would do to rewatch again without any idea of what to expect... such a great iconic piece of not only werewolf films but brittish film
Without a doubt this is the best werewolf movie of all time. I watched it again last night (for about the 20th time) and it never gets old. The dialogue and camaraderie between the actors is stellar. Love it.
This is the firs time I've seen this documentary. An absolutely fascinating insight into the characters in this classic british horror film, and in my humble oppinion, The best weirwolf film ever made, very dark and very intense and very gory, just superb, I've seen it umpteen times and never tire of it. I hope they make a sequel, but please do not let hollywood anywhere near it.
One of my favorites from my childhood, my dad and I use to watch it all the time it came on, 20 years later it's still my favorite werewolf film, the director did such an excellent job at making this and the werewolves were phenomenal it scared me with those jump scares every time and I hate the element of surprise lol ever since then I've been obsessed with the horror genre
The thing about the missing - murdered explorers , is a thing took by the Zevaudan Beast story - that werewolves were like the descriptions of that beast ... I think Neal was inspired from that story and a little from the story of Petter Stumpf ! The Werewolf of Bendburg at 16 th century , or the Sawney Bean , scottish - incesting - cannibal family ! The other soldier part , maybe was an inspiration from his memos from army , or a fiction prosthetic , to give to the film that atmospheric , combat with paranormal ! Whatever it was , that two style combinations made a very badass and gory film .
The American Werewolf in London seemed more wolf than human. The one from Bad Moon seems like the modern depiction, Dog Soldiers? Eerie and seemingly legit.
This Is My Favourite British Werewolf Film Ever & the gag reel they did always makes me laugh, I,m Glad there wasn't much CGI in this Film, It,s True To Much CGI, Ruins the Film, I felt for the x3 men who were the Werewolves The leg Extensions they wore Must of been so Painful to wear for long periods of time Thanks Bob Keen for the SPFX of the Werewolves Excellent (100%).
This really is a good film. Been one of my favorites that I always come back to and watch every so often. I have the dvd. Proper English humour it's funny, scary and thrilling at the same time.
amazing movie
