Nice overview and explanation on binding whether you are selling or buying a DJI drone. Thanks Stephen.
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊✌🏻
Great information Stephen! Thank you, my friend!
Thank you Marcus 😊✌🏻
i have this problem... I bought a mini 3 on eBay and an RC from different sellers. The RC says the Mini is paired with another account. I contacted the seller of the Mini 3 and he unpaired it from the other account, however! the RC STILL says the drone is on another account. The Mini 3 seller insists the drone is not paired to his account but my RC says it is and I cannot bind my RC to the Mini 3
i pick up a lost mini3 pro one day , but it was bind to the original remoter. how can i release the binding and connect to litchi?
Great video Stephen! Well done, my friend.
Thanks Captain 😊✌🏻
So what does bound mean just connectivity with drone and remote ?
Drone, controller and account
How do I unbind a lost remote control from the DJI Mavic 3.
Hi , what if the original remote is no longer present ?
I had something weird happen to me yesterday when I was unbinding a drone from a seller's account on their phone. It shows it was unbound and when I connected my phone and tried to add it, somebody else's email address shows up and not there's. It was the previous owner to them and they don't have their contact information anymore. Why did that happen? It showed their Gmail address on their phone and then I tapped unbind and it did. Then on my phone it showed a Yahoo address as the owner for the same drone. 🤔
What do you do if you can’t contact the original owner?
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do.
When purchasing a refurbished drone from bestbuy DJI will remove the previous account after providing the serial number and proof of purchase.
Thanks for the video. What kind of rc are those
Hi Flyguys thanks for this video it is helpful however I purchased about a year ago. I have only flow it 3 times and now cant fly it because it is bound to another person. I am not intouch with that person. is there anyway i can unbind it from its current email address without the other persons password. thanks in anticipation Danny
Hello. Sorry, I don’t think there is a way, unless you contact DJI and explain your situation. Let me know how you get on though.
If you sell the RC and it's still bound to your drone, can the person that bought the drone unbind it from the account?
No
Thanks so much for sharing that information you have thanks now I can buy a new drone from eBay
Glad I could help
Unfortunately DJI has no interest in fixing this issue. The simplest solution is to add a prompt on the screen to ask the user when they do a reset if they would like to unbind the it. Or prevent the reset all together unless it is unbound first. I'm sure most people do a reset and return without realizing that it stays bound to their account.
It’s a shame people are getting into issues with this.
Good one!!👍🏻it happened to me today 😢,your video helps a lot, thank you so much 🎉🎉😊👏🏻👏🏻
Glad to be of help. Fly safe 😊✌🏻
Thank you mate. That was great help
What if you don’t know whose account it was bound to. I bought a used mini 3 and it says it’s bound to someone else. If it’s lost I would rather return it to the person.
If you don’t know the person, I would contact DJI. There is no way to unbind without the persons details.
So.. this is the prob.. i got a damage RC from Dji mini 2 SE then i bought a new RC i already unbind the account.. but still cant bind to new rc
Unfortunately this is a problem. Sorry to hear.
@@FlybyGuys its fix. I contact dji help center. 😊
I found a crashed Mini Pro 3 in my yard. I contacted DJI to get it back to it's owner...but the owner won't reply. DJI SAYS it's not bound. I'm considering a new $300 or used $200 RC. Would I have better luck with the new RC? I know now from your video that if DJI is wrong...I'll have wasted the money on the RC.
have you found a controller yet? Crashed my drone in a lake. about. little over 5 hours flight time.. no use for Rc
No I haven't. I wouldn't mind spending the money if I knew it would work. I not only have to trust DJI that the drone is unbound...but that the RC I buy is unbound as well. Otherwise it's a waste of time and money. No chance your in central Florida?
Humm, interesting, so after this 5 time you are allowed to fly is it just grounded and can not be armed and you can still control start and stop recording or just go dark and that's over?
I bought a used drone and the older owner don’t know the password, there’s to nothing to do ? It’s like iCloud in the iPhones then ?
Hey, that’s unfortunate. The previous owner needs to unbind. It’s a bit like iCloud yes. Once that’s released from one side, your free on the other.
I hope you find the person and let them know the problem.
Keep me posted 😊✌🏻
Old owner can reset the password on his own account otherwise get your money back
Shocking that DJI sells this "refurb" with this issue which disappoints the customer. I have same problem and DJI support is deceptive and misleading as well as the original sale of a refurb unit. Disgraceful DJI. Legal action required possibly?.
If DJI are selling refurbished models, still bound to another user, then you have a case.
Guess I was lucky as the mini 1 I got doesn't have bound "feature", now I am aware of it I can ask the question is it still bound as it's a large paper wight if not unbound on dji 2 or higher models (looking at getting dji 2 enterprise dual, due to cost it will be in person pickup so this is super important check)
Good to hear. Good luck
watching this video after buying my drone from fb market place and now have this issue. what if you can't contact the seller because they blocked you on fb after buying the drone? how can you unbind?
I’m in a similar situation. I bought mine off of Whatnot as part of an Amazon return lot. I can’t get any help at all. I went round and round with DJI. They happily accepted my money for repairs and parts, but other than that I’m out of luck. The Whatnot seller has since been banned by Whatnot.
I believe the original owner returned this to Amazon who gladly accepted it even though it was obviously used based on the condition of the box. They were scamming a return from Amazon and don’t respond to DJI requests sent to the registered “owner’s” email address.
Great video. What if you currently have the RC-N2 remote and your drone is bound to that (through your cell phone DJI app), and you buy the new RC 2 remote. Do you unbind first, and then bind the RC 2 remote?
If it’s on the same account, it might be ok, but it’s always good to unbind and bind a new controller. Thanks for the comment 😊✌🏻
Unfortunately, I've just bought an air2s and it's bound to another account as I've just got the new rc for it now in the next 4 uses I will be locked out so annoying currently trying to get it fixed with dji support
Damn. Hope it fixed by DJI
@Flyby Guys yeah hopefully or I'm stuck with an rc I can't use. lol hopefully, Dji will get back soon
i just remove the old account of the mini 3 with the dji rc just erase all data
@Dajau Felipe Jaime yes because you bought it new or second hand without an account already bind to it hence my problem bought on ebay then tried to add the new rc let's you use rc 5 times until you need to bind it but the account on mine is the sellers account and he won't respond and dji are telling me the same thing
@tambana Naki dji are saying they can't do anything until they get permission from the original owner 🙄 yet I've tried to tell them that I now own the drone outright and surly they can wipe the account clean but no so looks like the rc is going back to amazon 🤷♂️
This shows how to log out not bind a account with 1 purchased through a 3rd party. Thursday im recieving an air 3 refurbishment and all reviews say their binded. Guess itll be fraud day at the bank if dji or best buy dont corporate
I purchased a used dji mini 3 pro.. Upfront am going to tell you i know very little about them.. Its attached to the last owners account and am unable to get in touch with the guy , How can i wipe his information or do a factory reset so i can attach my account? I have the controller pad just like the one you are using in your video .Please help.
I'm a little confused because of my specific need.
My controller got wet. So I bought a used controller from someone who lost his drone.
I need to bind my existing drone, (without use of my controller) to this "new" controller that has no existing drone because it got lost.
Please help!
My Air2s is binded to the previous owner but is working with the Smart controller no problem. Will the GEO fencing unlock work? As the aircraft is binded to previous owner email address. Thank you
Good information Stephen
Thanks Lyn 😊✌🏻
Ive just bought a dji avata. Apparently its bounded but it comes with the motion controller. Will i have an issue???
Are you buying 2nd hand?
Is this still needed when you are buying the aircraft and the remote together?
You need to bind the drone. But if it’s 2nd hand, then it needs the unbound from that persons account.
What about when it says Account not logged in? I could fly my mini 3 pro with the standard controller, and tablet, I updated to a used RC controller like the ones on your video, and previous owner set me up all ok. Now today, I can only fly to 50ft as I can't log in? I don't know where I have gone wrong?
What about if you bought a second controller that is bound to another DJI drone? I own the DJI Mini 3 Pro with the DJI RC controller and decided to buy a used DJI RC-N1 controller so that I could use my phone or have a spare. I tried connecting the 2nd controller but the same message popped up that you showed. I now only have one chance left out of the five. I am a bit stressed out about this. Your help would be greatly appreciated
I think you can do a factory reset on the controller. It's the account profile that is bound to the drone, not necesarily the controller. Not 100% sure about this but someone told me they did it.
I have a problem with the "aircraft activation required" error message I don't know what is going on
Are you connected to the internet?
@FlybyGuys Yes, I have the rc N1 variant of the controller (the one WITHOUT a screen) and I'm connected to the internet when I plug my phone to the controller, idk whats going on, if it helps I bought it off ebay
Hi thanks for the video. I bought my Air2S in Sept 21 with a smart controller but only now found out it’s still bound to the eBay seller. I have sent messages to him with photos but no response. As said it still works and I think when it said log into account i did ! I have other drones on my account. What do you suggest or just carry on ? Thanks
Okay so I apologize for this stupid question ❓. I have a mini 3 That came with both controllers the one you use with your phone, and the one with the screen, I am able to connect the drone to the one that connects to the phone and it flies good, however, when I try to connect it to the other controller that came with it from eBay... The one with the built-in screen, it shows me someone else's email address that is bound so you're telling me the only way I'll be able to utilize the other controller the one with the built-in screen I'll have to have the original owner log out of his account?
Hi Joseph. Unfortunately, you are correct.
That person needs to logout if their account for you to use the RC.
@@FlybyGuys So just to clarify... It's not the actual drone that is the issue? It is definitely the controller the RC1 with the built-in screen? So I wouldn't need to return the drone itself? I would just need to return the controller with the screen? Is that correct? I apologize for all this questioning... It's all very confusing to me, because it flies perfectly with the other controller that I connect to my phone.... Thank you in advance..
@@josephf2157 The drone is the issue, as it's linked to the account.
This mazing video
Thank you
What if I don't have the drone? I crashed it and deleted the app. Now want to rebind that controller (rc231) Does it need to be erased from my account to bind to another drone?
If it’s your drone and controller, it’s ok.
@@FlybyGuys okay, and what if I did want to sell the controller? Is it possible to unbind from my account even though I don't have the drone
I've signed into my account on the app. All my flight data is there but when i go to device management it says no device found. any suggestions? Mind you i don't have the drone, flew it into a lake.@@FlybyGuys
what if, my first RC is lost or unable to do anything (the scream is not show up and buttons can't work) so there will be issuing in second RC. right.
I tried unbinding my account from drone, but when I hit the profile it dosent have the option to unbind account- I have the dpi mini 3 pro- it has everything else
Great Video. do you have any info for the m3pro and the integra goggles with the unbound warning at the bottom of the goggles?? Do i need to unbind my DJ Rc pro from drone and rebind with the goggles to git rid of the unbound aircraft warning? Thanks For your help.
I'm trying to do this, but I do not get the "remove device from acct"! I have the sellers login info. What can I do?
Ask the seller to verify their details. They can login and remove it too (if they have another drone and controller
Thanks for the reply! Turns out, the original owner is the seller to the person I purchased it from! I've reached out to Dji and they are going to try and reach him. Lesson learned , as you firmly stated in your video! I've also reached out to the guy I bought it from. I DO have HIS information as to logging in, but can't get the "Remove from binding" words.

I personally try not to buy any electronic devices at all second hand,, unless you know the person and the savings is usually not worth the difference.. but that's just me,,,
Im the same, but for many, this isn't the case.
I seen this issue becoming a problem for many a few months ago. I was right.

Hi, after binding new remote with aircraft is dji care refresh still valid?
Good question Vladimir. Let me check for you 😊✌🏻
Thanks for the video Stephen! 😃
I bought a used Mini 3 Pro WITH a linked and working DJI RC. Everything works and it flies, but on the RC, the previous owner is logged in (and binded).
Is it possible for me to log him out and log myself in to DJI Fly on the RC, or does the account logged into the RC need to be the one that ”binded” the aircraft in the first place?
In other words, will the drone not fly if I log out the previous (binded) owner from the RC? Or will it work just fine until the day I need to bind a new remote (as you show in the video)?
Hello, and thanks for the comment.
Unfortunately not, you cannot log that person out of the RC. It's the drone that is bound to the controller. He needs to do it form his side.
It's a very unfortunate situation for you, and I hope you mange to find a solution.
Keep me posted

How do you Change an account for a Mavic 2 enterprise Dual I just picked up used having a difficult time doing it.
The person who sold it should have signed out of their account first.
@@FlybyGuys got it fixed. You can unbind through remote controller. Thank you for your reply. But I learned better to just buy new as your right DJI has no interest in fixing this issue spoke to them direct.

I bought from Amazon my rc is binded to another device what can I do
Sorry to hear. You need to contact the seller to unbind the device.

nice one mate
Thanks Johnny 😊✌🏻
There has to be away if ur controller is lost or broken you have to be able to bind it to another remote that's a major problem an big deal to me
If you have the account that already bound to the aircraft that is not an issue, the issue is if only you dont have the access to the bounded RC account
My controller burned up in a car fire but I still got the drone what do I do ... about binding
How to contact previous owner? Logging in dji app it shows faded portion of email
I would contact DJI and raise the issue for them to contact the previous owner. It should be a simple process. Fingers crossed.
@@FlybyGuys Thanks!!
original controller drone bound to is completely destroyed .and i wasnt aware of binding significance flying it on previous owners log in..........
is it possible to get previous owner to log in on brand new controller and unbind the drone from destroyed controller...
hoping he could then log out and i could factory reset controller and then log in on my account...
will this solve my problem
This is a tough one. Try to access your account and see your devices. Then ask DJI support for them to locate you’re device?
@@FlybyGuys I can confirm the only way to unbind it was to have the previous owner log in and unbind the drone which involved taking the new remote physically to him to carry out the procedure.
Then log him out, factory reset controller and log all my details in
@@harryharry8384 Thanks Harry, and I'm glad you got it sorted out. Let's hope others learn from this.
Thanks again, and fly safe 😀✌
@harry harry how did you find previous owner, when logging in to djifly app the email blocked out
Please what I do if I don't know the person who sell me the drone
You need to contact them immediately.
What if I purchase the Mini 3 Pro with the original controller together? Since the remote is already bound to that drone, can I just log into my account without any kind of background unbinding?
The account of the original owner needs to be disconnected
@@FlybyGuys thanks for your reply. I was asking because I am a reseller and actually receive these types of electronics as Amazon returns in bulk. I recently received a lot with some of these. Some of them show that they are bound to an account already. However, I was still able to log into my DJI account on the controller and fly the drone with no issues. I was even able to update the firmware. We try our best to be a very transparent seller and maintain 100% feedback, so we just wanted to educate ourselves a little more prior to listing and selling the drones. Even though they’re bound, I’ve logged into, and test flown each one of them WITHOUT any kind of error messages or warnings. Am I missing something here?
@@byronanderson3310 You can fly there drone 5 times when it’s under another bound account.
After the 5th time, it’s locked.
@@FlybyGuys that’s what I was worried about after seeing a video about it. But I get no such message for that like in the video. I think that only applies to a drone that’s trying to be bound to a different controller… not a different account. I decided to call DJI this morning for clarification and they told that the drone will actually be completely usable if it’s bound to another count. The tech told me that I’d be able to log in and and use it with no issue. However, if there is any kind of flyaway or something like that I wouldn’t be covered. So basically the account binding is only related to DJI Care/insurance. But if someone gets a drone that bound to an existing account (with the original remote/controller) it will work just fine with no limitations. Just log into your DJI account on the remote/controller.
@@byronanderson3310 dji 2 and onwards it binds, dji 1 does not bind
Btw we can see your info at around 6:10!

Thanks for sharing this informative video. I have an issue that I'm hoping you can help me with. My DJI RC and Mini 3 Pro were set up under my father's account and I' like to switch it to my account with my email and password but when I type in my email I get the message "Invalid email". I then tried to switch back to my father's email and got the same message so now according to my controller both emails are invalid. Now to be clear, I'm using the same DJI RC controller so I'm not switching from one controller to another. I'm simply attempting to get the drone that I bought for myself bound to my account. How do I overcome this? I will also say that I also own another DJI drone that has an account in my name. Could it b that since that account already exists it's considering that email invalid since it's tied into my account?
Hi my friend I’ve got the same issue , just wondering if you managed to resolve this problem and how ?
