Love graded cards and am just starting to get my personal collection graded, but the whole “we charge more for more expensive cards” thing is so stupid, their job is the same
Even after submitting some cards recently to PSA, I still learned from this video. The tabs no longer being necessary blew my mind. Didn't know they cut the card savers!
Super pumped to see this follow-up video! I was one of the ones that commented on your prior video that they don't want the pull tabs and that they want you to estimate the post-graded value. Really cool to see you following up and discussing those points here. I totally agree with you by the way. I really dislike the fact that they basically are saying you need to price your post-graded card before you actually get it graded. In the case where you are submitting a large number of older, potentially more valuable cards, it can really be stressful trying to figure out whether you think something will be a 10 and be worth $3,000 (thus requiring you to pay $75 for grading), or be a 7, 8, or 9 and dropping to a value of $100 (and thus you spent $75 to grade a $100 card when you could have simply spent $15 for the TCG bulk rate).
If you're not sure you just buy the cheaper option, and then if it gets a 10 they charge you the difference anyway before they will send it back. Otherwise if you paid for a 10 and it gets a 9, they don't refund you the difference.
Dude!! This couldn't have been more PERFECT timing! I just watched your old "how to submit to Psa" video last night and I knew some things have changed. Thank you so much for this!
one thing I like to do is put all the cards (in semi-rigids) in pokemon tins. It fits nicely inside and the tin provides great protection in transit. you can wrap the cards once in bubble wrap or put styrofoam pieces to make things nice and snug.
"it might not be obvious to everyone" as someone who just got into collecting and spent $2k this month i apprecaiated that info. I also self taught to just put the card name and the number so like charizard 12/108 or whatever and it will usually say the set on ebay
Really appreciate these kinda vids Sean. For real, helping out the community and giving back like this is what makes the vault squad a special place to be!
PSA collection club only makes sense for very large submissions 50+. The more you submit the cheaper it is, so instead of paying $2500 for 100 regular card grade submissions you would pay $1600 which is quite substantial.
Loved this!! I'm getting ready to submit some cards right now, it'll be my first submission ever. If possible I'd love to see a video on "qualifying factors" for cards to grade. Would love to see that!
Couple questions.. so we have to determine our own declared value, so I would guess you take the market value of what let’s say a 9 of a gengar Alt from FS, if you think that’s what it’ll get. So what happens if you’re slightly off either under or higher? And if I’m in the 500 value bulk let’s say my Charizard unlimited base gets an 8 or a 9 which brings it over 500 but under 700 what kind of up charges does that incur and how do they get that from you?
This is crazy lol I have a ton of original cards and was gonna try to get some graded but meh, probably not worth it. I need to be able to hire a service to prep it for the PSA service lmao
Love this. I’ve seen sooo many videos on submitting cards, even with the same caliber RUclipsrs. And I feel so much was left out. By far the best one. Thank you!!!!!!!! Needed this!
I’ve never submitted a card, but am considering doing so for my daughter’s favorite cards. So thank you for this video! I appreciate all the work that you do!
if i have a card that i think could be a PSA10 and with it being a 10 is around 9-10 k .. do i need to pay 600$ to send it in or can i send all my cards in the value spot that costs 25$ (since i cant afford to send it in if i gotta pay premium)
Rather than going to poke collector if you go to Google and type in the card name then the set number like 10/203 TCG player generally has all the info for you in the description. The bonus here is it will work for almost all games
So pumped for the VaultX Colab. I have my entire SWSH series masters in VaultX Binders, can’t recommend them enough. Really excited for you Vault, for the VaultSquad, and to see where this goes. We really need them to pump up the production on SV series editions and get to the US Fast
@@thetownsmen2.1 No, you don't actually pay for the cards until the very end after they've graded everything...so even if you submit at the bulk level for $15 per card, they can end up charging you more at the very end if the cards are worth more than bulk value limit ($199 per card). They don't always research the values very well, so you can sometimes get away with paying $15 per card for a lot of cards worth more than the $199 value limit.
@@thetownsmen2.1 yes. lets say you send them a card worth 5,000$ but you pick the 499$ value price they will change it to the correct estimated value and send you a invoice

Really amazing video. I’m just getting started. Are you going to sell the card for $40 and pay $15 to get it graded so you only made $25 from getting it graded? Or is that $40 the ungraded price?
Cool video but PSA advise you sandwich your submissions between two pieces of cardboard for security, and then pack as you did. I feel the numbering is a little unnecessary too TBH

Just wondering if they would give lower grades if you spend less money? Or do they email you to pay more? For example I sent in a Zapdos base set shadowless and I think it should be at least a 9. Would they grade it less since I picked Value Plus?
Why the hell do we have to grade the card ourselves when we are literally paying someone who actually knows how to do it professionally AND you have to pay more depending on the suspected value? They all get paid the same wage to grade. Such bs.

Question . If I submit 20 cards in bulk and one of the cards is worth more then 200$ do I have to make a separate submission for that card ? Since it’s over 200$
One thing you didn’t mention was if your submitting bulk you have to submit a minimum of 20 cards. What happens when you have 19 cards at 199 declared value but 1 card at 499 declared value?
