Great review, the best one I have seen on the Wingman, and I have seen plenty! I have had a Wingman for over 10 years, got it as a gift and it still serves me well. Previously it had lived in my backpack, but recently I have been using it as my EDC on my belt and it is great! The pocket clip is really fantastic as a belt clip, so it makes it easy for me to carry my Wingman with me all the time!
This is the best review for the wingman I've seen. I'm looking for a new multi tool and the wingman fits my bill for work. I was hung up between this or the rev but you got me sold on this one.
Went on abit of a spending spree in the way of multitools when I finally retired my old ST300… went out with the intention of buying the wave +. Ended up walking away with a surge for myself and 2 wingman’s (one each for my boys)
Great concise review. I always like when people take the time to show each tool in use. I've had horrible luck with this series of Leathermans. I had a wingman that lost screw threading on the knife blade and went loose so it wouldnt lock. I warranteed that one, and then the one they sent me had pivot issues with the scissors and the knife - the scissors wouldnt engage and the knife was either way too tight or flopping around again. I'm on my third now. Its had about four months of use and the screws turn when I use the tool and keep having to be re-tightened! I'm not going to bother with another warranty claim! On the other hand my same rebar has been with me 3 years and is still as solid as the day I got it. Dunno what it was with the wingman/sidekick series but a few guys I had actually bought them for as presents (before mine started to fail) had them develop similar issues.
How is this not the best review of this product out there?! Excellent job! Awesome, amazing video quality. Wow. I've owned this multi-tool for several years now and it has come in handy to say the least. Very budget friendly, especially nowadays, plus it sports a solid set of extremely useful tools for a multitude of areas. I find pairing the Wingman with a solid 111mm SAK, like the One-Handed Trekker, or the Outrider, is a great option. That way you have a good saw. Organized in a small gear pouch, perhaps? It provides you with a mixture of blade-types and tools, noting Victorinox saws are superior to most of the saws I've experimented with...In the same class of saw sizes of course. Really like that red lanyard you placed on there. First time I've seen a lanyard on a wingman. Can I subscribe for more videos? Have you blocked the number showing your subscribers? I'm new to this and just began my own channel. Right when I saw u include your dog, I was hooked! Thanks for sharing!
LOL I am glad that you have stumbled upon my videos... I aim to entertain and please! Yes please subscribe and share my videos with the world, the more publicity the better! I love the Wingman, I use it pirty-much every day or keep it in my rotation of blades. I wish Leatherman made it easy to exchange tools/mix and match things as you see fit! I actually changed the cord on the wingman to Nighteyez reflective cord.. mostly because i do a lot of sunset fishing and need to know if i drop it. I need to get a one-handed Trekker, I really like the multi-function. I don't know why my numbers are hidden, Ill look into it. Good luck with the channel feel free to ask Q and never be ashamed to experiment with your media.. Be different and try not to fall into the reviewer hole of no return!!! LOL Cheers! -G
+Gearaholic Hey! Thanks a bunch! Really appreciate all the thoughts and kind words. Yep, have been using them for our latest landscaping addition. Those things come in so super handy. Great, budget friendly, chunk of tools! Love when we find unique ways to use the different tools. I'll be watching! Take care friend!
Interesting. I like the accessibility of the blade, but I dont like the combo edge, I prefer a straight edge. I like the spring action pliers but what I really like are the scissors. I miss that on the Rebar which I have. I would even prefer to have them than the Rebar's second blade. But of course it does come in at $30 less than the Rebar (as per the Leatherman website). Would you swop your Rebar for your Wingman? Thanks for another awesome video. I really appreciate it.
Ooo, good question! I have to say I like the Wingman for the suspension and scissors as well..but the Rebar is a more versatal outdoor tool and that saw is awesome... I got to go with the Rebar!
FYI: I noticed Leatherman has come out with a "knifeless" REBAR. It's really pretty sweet. I'm thinking of picking one of those up, since I'm the type to always have a straight edged folder on me. Especially from how light in weight the quality folding knives have come. But the Knifeless Rebar comes with a small set of scissors instead of the blades. I think it's a clever idea. Especially for travelers. Not sure if it is TSA friendly, like the smaller (Style Series MT's Leatherman offers). I will say for the minimalist folks out there, this is my subjective point of view. I'm sure it's nice to have your two "separate" blade types. I can totally understand not wanting to carry an extra folder. Figured I'd throw that out there since I haven't spotted many reviews of it yet. Hope that helps!
I think the Leatherman Wave is better. It's worth saving up for, because it has more tools and almost all of them are implemented better. The ergonomics are better and all the tools lock properly. It house 4 outside accessible tools and both the serrated blade and plain blade can be opened with one hand. It is more expensive, but the quality of it is amazing and it has been regarded as one of the best multi tools ever made.
Good review, and the Wingman is a pretty good multi-tool, especially when you figure price into it. The build quality is good, but not great, but my big issue with it is that the internal tools don't lock open. I've had the screwdrivers close on my fingers a few times when trying to work on a stubborn screw. Not fun... To me, it's a good back-up or something nice to thrown in your vehicle, but if you truly carry a multi-tool everyday (and use it), something like the Wave is a better investment if you can swing the price difference.
Leatherman makes a tool nearly identical to the Wingman called the Sidekick. Instead of scissors and a package opener, it has a wood saw and tiny serrated blade.
LOVE this review--especially since you demonstrated all of the features

This should be the Official Wingman video on Leathermans website.
This Leatherman Wingman has been my companion doing the "Camino de Santiago" (Santiago Road) It has been my helping hand many times. Great tool!!!!!
I got mine for $8 at a flea market. Brand new, never used. Yes, please!

Fantastic review! Best one on the Wingman hands down. I carry the Wingman on my belt every day as my main EDC. Keep the reviews coming!
Very well produced video, thanx for sharing.
Wow awesome video! Great filming and love seeing it in action.

Hmm, Ill keep my eye out for any issues regarding the wingman. Have you tried Lock Tight on those threads?
My leatherman wave has lose screws too. I wish the screws weren't keyed so I could tighten it but alas I cant.
Cedric & Ada Gear and Outdoors - I never had a problem with my wingman or sidekick. They work great.

Better than Leatherman's own product demo!
One of the best leathermans to have
This is about the worst one. Actually second worst. How you can say this is the best I have no clue
@@Mikey-ym6ok most issues in the wingman were fixed in later productions
My first Leatherman multi tool is wingman
Great review,I've had the wave for quite awhile but wanted something a bit lighter and slimmer, the wingman is perfect 👍🏻

How on earth did you get that paracord into yours? I can't get any into mine
95 cord also
I bought mine for 70 dollars was it worth it?
Hi! What's the diameter of this red rope attached to tool?
great review!

The pacage opener its like a bix cuter for me.

Hey hows the wingman holding up
I've had mine for over 10 years and it is still holding up well.
Wish it was still 30 bucks. I just paid almost double
$30 ...man. It's $60 now, in only 4 years.
I buying is same price in Taiwan~ but Honersily. I really love it ~^^
Interestinf review by showing the tools it has in practice. Only complaint...the music it makes me nervous
For $30, yea... but now in 2021, it's $60. At this price, pay a little more and get Wave. And not a big fan of half serrated blade.
Wow inflations a bitch it’s now more than double that price
nice video

This looks like advertisement, not a usage review.
$30 my ass! Not in 2019! Its $60 now.
They was pretty stupid putting it in the water. Bet it's all rusted to hell by now.
Good review. In my opinion though, for it to be truly “EDC worthy” it would need a saw blade also.
Its not everyday one needs a saw
Leatherman makes a tool nearly identical to the Wingman called the Sidekick. Instead of scissors and a package opener, it has a wood saw and tiny serrated blade.
Uh, it's $60, but otherwise good review.
like !!!
$30 in 2016
$60 in 2020...
yeah, this is crazy, the price went up so much :(
