    Yes! The Namoki hand-setting tool is an amazing tool upgrade. It makes the job so much easier. I love this case and bracelet set from them as well. I've used it a couple times now and it always looks incredible! By the way, the NH34 has a naturally loose GMT hand with lots of play. It's a bit sad but close enough is good enough with those.

Your watches are beautiful, and as with everything in life, we learn as we go. And if you’re like me, my latest watch is always my favorite. I no longer buy watches, because the is no satisfaction like looking down at your wrist and being able to say, I made that. It’s your idea, your build, make it how ever you want. Keep up the good and keep posting. Cheers.

    Brother, at 34:30 minutes, first stick the sticker completely on the ceramic insert with the inside, then take off the inner sticker and peel it off. After that I stick everything in the bezel, it works much easier every time than putting it on the bezel.

    The watch turned out stunningly beautiful. I have already been inspired in building myself a SPB185 after your video back 2 years ago.
    Hands on the watch are also slightly off in color in regard to lume but I accepted that as monster watches was out of stock for MM hands at the time. Still own the watch and is my most worn one.

    Awesome build Dan! This combination of GS/LX/62MAS/MM200 parts looks amazing and like something Seiko could make for sure. The gold accent is a nice touch. 👏
    I personally prefer the MM200 hands over the 62MAS hands. The Namoki hands look a bit too rounded and soft compared to the sharp Monsterwatches hands. However, I like the brushed LX bezel better than the polished one to balance out the rest of the case and bracelet.
    Sounds like I've been putting hands the wrong way too, as I've been using the 1mm and 1.8mm tips all this time. 😅

    I've never replaced hands, but in researching parts for my 1st build, various movements specify 3 measurements of the pinion, and hands correspond to these measurements. It never occurred to me that you were using the wrong tools; I always thought you were just so good that you could use the same tool for every hand and knew how much pressure to apply. I only respect you more for your candid admission of your revelation.

    The MM200 hands, hands down (no pun intended) are the best. How is the lume of the dial. Does it manage to stay as long as the hands? My 62Mas dial (same as yours) the lume is not OEM level, it fades very quickly in comparison!

    • @ItsAnotherWatch
      @ItsAnotherWatch  8 дней назад +2

      Its pretty good, both the dial and the GMT hand do dim faster than the MM200 hands, but the glow retention is still decent later on in the day. Heck, the "Swiss X1 lume" that he uses at MonsterWatches seems to be even better than Seiko lumibright at times.

    Hi mate, nice build, it's so nice that I decided to discard buying spb383 and mod something like this. Looking through you old videos I noticed that you already used mm300/200 cases. If you were to build it again, would you use GS case again or maybe switch to mm300/mm200 cases?

    • @ItsAnotherWatch
      @ItsAnotherWatch  5 дней назад

      Honestly, if it was a build that didn't need a chapter ring then I'd still go for an MM200 case. But as for MM300 style builds... I think i would actually go for the GS case now. Those extra lines on the case add so much to it and the bracelet is just fantastic. Heck, the bracelet alone is worth going with the GS case.
      But when looking at my SBDC051/MM300 case build and comparing it to the GS Style build in this video, the cases are similar enough that the only reason I see for not going for the GS case is if you want a smoother overall look since they're similar enough in size and shape. I held them up next to each other and just thought "yeah, the GS case is just a nice overall upgrade".
      As for the SPB383, I'd say its perfect for this GS case if you want the extra lines and details, as well as the bracelet. Since you could just do the build from this video, but with an SPB185 dial and a silver set of SPB185 hands with a yellow or gold GMT hand and a Black calendar disk.
      If you do end up building something like that, please come back here with links to photos as I'd love to see it!

      @@daleyfamily2179 It's a genuine seiko movement, but yes of course it's not a real seiko watch, it's a mod/custom build.

      While I can't confirm it for certain, I always ask the sellers on AliExpress if they're OEM or aftermarket and they tell me that the dials are OEM.
      I've had a lot of aftermarket dials and these are not like those, not even the high end aftermarket ones. I've bought OEM dials from WatchPartsPlaza, TokeiLab and such and these "OEM" AliExpress dials seem to be exactly the same as those, in terms of quality, print, lume, stamped indices and detail.
      I guess I take the sellers at their word when they assure me that they are OEM and the quality seems to match up as far as I can tell. I'm not trying to be disingenuous or anything when i say its OEM. So If I am wrong I apologize.
      I've always just assumed that SEIKO probably has factories in China and the AliExpress sellers get hold of these dials somehow.

      I had a similar problem pressing on a bezel. Like you, I used the die that fit inside the bezel where the adhesive and the insert goes. When I switched to a larger die that hits on the top/outside of the bezel, it snapped right one. Might be a matter bending or pressure and leverage. Also, to get rid of the burr around the enlarged dial hole for the NH34 (even expensive broaches leaves them), use a countersink bit for metal. Just a few spins with the fingers on both sides will take the burr right off. I see sets of 4 on Amazon for 10-12 USD. You might find a single 1/4 inch or 4-5mm single bit even cheaper. Great video and good luck.

    OK legit question, if any company or person made a copy of any watch and put a non factory dial with the name of the watch, i.e. Rolex, doxa, etc. it would be called fake. So how does putting a non factory Seiko dial on and its called modding and not a fake, isn't this by definition a fake Seiko? Now test it to 200m and show its a 200m watch. That dial is not a OEM dial you stated clearly in the video then at the end you claim its a OEM dial. BRUH!
