You failed to mention that Vingegaard winning today means now that out of 11 stages, we have 10 different team wins. That sounds to me like it must be a record.
How about not saying the winner straight away In your comment. Also no one cares.
@@joshuaperry8729 why look at the comments if you don’t want the result revealed…
@@joshuaperry8729 I care
@@joshuaperry8729 Why would you seek out this video if you don't want to know the results?
WIth Intermarché-Wanty being the only team with 2 wins. Wonder how many would have predicted that.
Apparently not only Jonas has the balls to pull with Pog but also beat him in a sprint. Absolute mad lad
and Jonas didn't even bother to ask remco/roglic to pull on a climb. He is aware that only he can climb faster than Pogi
Better to have the legs than the balls eh?
Apparently we have 3 blind mice....did Jonas attack, or did Pogi? The cajones lies with the dude that initiated aggression, not the dude that HAD to respond. He either rode today, or lose the tour--Pogi MADE Jonas ride🤦🏼♂️😂💯👊🏽
Being stupid is not always the same as having balls.
Pogacar cracked there, It was a feeding problem, as we are getting use to see in UAE
The stage was an A+ and the post race interview was an A++ ❤❤❤
Patrick and Benji, you are solid gold. Than you for taking my cycling experience to the next level.
This stage was like a football match where one team is ahead most of the second half and then there’s an equalizer in stoppage time. The result is basically a draw but one side is going to feel better about it (Visma)
Pog and his team have some crazy bad nutritional skills. Props to Jonas on catching back up. Emir of UAE boutta put a hit out on his team’s nutritionist though.
Can't wait to see what Chris Horner see in today race tactics, I bet Pogi was a knucklehead
Anything different than old style Sky tactics is kh for him so surely)
UAE’s tactics in general are so weird
Tbh he turned out to be a knucklehead
@@GerhardVAwho, horner?
I think Pogi’s move made sense. He could not know that Jonas was en fuego today and he did take 35 seconds at some point.
One important aspect regarding the fight of these 4 on top.
Of course there are the 2 who were 1st and 2nd today who will battle it out for the win , given they stay healthy and do not have a heavy crash.
But regarding the pure performance one has to give Roglic a compliment when looking at his age compared to the other 3 ! That is totally overseen almost everywhere -- he is already 34 and so his time normally would be almost over to win agains such young guns --- and the regeneration time is very likely a bit longer already indeed! Taking this into account he does pretty impressively !
To me it just shows that Jonas had better legs because he's sat on the last week rather than fake-news attacking like Pog.
Classic fake news attacking gaining 35 seconds on the Galibier stage
1:07:22 that’s exactly how I interpreted that as well. It was about not wanting a bottle in the middle of the climb!
I felt like I was taking crazy pills when the announcers missed that! 😂
Pogi had a solid lead to begin with and then risked a lot going when he did. None of his teammates could support him after that. I feel he could have waited to launch later. In some ways though, this is helpful for UAE as they now know what Jonas can do for this Tour.
I was surprised when uae launched Pogi with 33km to go. His strength is his punch; why turn it into an extended effort, which plays into Jonas’ strengths. They could have 100% waited to the next climb and the bonus sprint. I don’t think Jonas would have attacked before that either because he’s been super cautious about getting countered on terrain that suits Pogi. These next two weeks are going to be really interesting to see if Jumbo has the horsepower to make the race hard enough to crack Pogi on long climbs.
@@osfan25 Agreed. Going to be a great next two weeks. I tend to feel Pogi has enough cushion already with his 1 minute + lead, esp if he plays it out more conservatively, but we'll see. As always anything can happen!
3 stages this year have been gold, galibier, gravel, and today
Jonas been on that Fabio Jakobsen sprint plan
Not racing intelligently today left Pog without the legs when it mattered.
Yeah if he had waited till the second to last climb he probably had taken time even if he bonked like he did now. And more time to eat before
Yes I don’t believe the fueling thing I think it’s the legs. I guess we will see
Agree with you from what I have seen today
@@MacMasore Yeah, maybe overextended a bit on the attack and descent. Didn't play in his favor that the others came together and Jonas didn't have to ride it all solo.
@@kayhayes5114 his legs are fine lmao he obviously had a hunger crisis you could've seen it at the start of porteus he was desperate for a gel
ON PAPER!
should be a shirt 😂
I love Benji, “on paper” is his new favorite. He uses it correctly, but then also just for everything. ❤
Inconceivable!!!
Like Patrick and Benji, I also hope the GC battle is close until the end. This will make all of the remaining stages exciting, but in particular the ITT could be legendary
For a team with UAE’s budget, they get fuelling wrong really often
It's funny how whenever Tàdej crecks it's because of fuelling forgating his human
Today was about fuelling - Pogi's eating on the podium and backstage afterwards spoke volumes. Granon and Col de la Loze were not. They were both about Visma having spent more than six months planning how to crack him in each of those Tours, and then executing those plans.
I like the 3K rule. That descent was sketchy. You shouldn’t get penalized for crashing at that point of the stage. He was trying to make up time. Glad Primos got the same time as Evenpoel
Yah. I'm guessing they anticipated larger groups may lead to some sketchy crashes on that single lane decent.
Think it's bad luck (tricky descent/corner) and fatigue (end of hard stage), caused him to crash. Primoz continues spending another one of his "nine lives", luckily put in the same time as Remco on the finish :D
While they'll obviously be ecstatic with the win, one major worry for Visma is that, yet again, it became clear that they basically have nothing in the mountains. Once UAE got serious, JV was isolated almost instantly. Even if JV's form in the 3rd week turns out to be great, it will be hard to take advantage without at least a Kuss level guy to help control the pace and launch him. They better hope that UAE doesn't go on the defensive, because they'll be super hard to put a dent in then.
Plus, they might lose Wout now as well, since he went for a scan following his crash...
It’s true that without Sepp and Roglic on another team VLB are devoid of a mountain domestiques but look on the bright side Jonas is doing hugely better than anybody thought and we can hope that Jorgensen rides into form since he clearly has great climbing ability and WVA who is playing the free agent at the moment will no doubt come to the party in the high mountains
@@epincion I just hope that Wout stays in, since he seemed to be headed towards the medical van for a scan after the stage.
Jorgensen is a great rider, but at this level of climbing I think he's still a bit in over his head.
Edit: Just read that Wout has been x-rayed, and that he did not have any fractures, and is expecting to continue. So that's good news at least.
In the end it’s always 1v1 no matter the team, especially cause no other UAE rider is anywhere close to Jonas’ level (or close enough in time) so they can’t play that game
@@jmsytbeI would’ve guessed that with the way and how fast he stood back up
UAE should honestly ride defensively or even let the jersey to a Gall or smthing if happens..if not, Jonas just a better climber..but not Pogi style so he will end up losing the tour
For people here in the chat saying Patrick was biased because of his employeer...let me tell you this, he knew something we didn't...😎💪🚴
🤙🇺🇸
Patrick knows his shit. He can look at a random climb and get a good feel of a rider based on his performance
I do wish Pogi hadn’t told Remco that he need not see Rogla as a threat for the podium. Although Sporza presented this as simple encouragement it sounded more like a put-down behind someone’s back.
Pogi may be right, factually, but we still haven’t seen Remco in the real mountains. He’s looking very well prepared so far, but he will be tested like he’s never been before.
Visma said they consider the top four spots to be in the game still. Maybe they’re just being polite to their old King, but they’ve generally proven better able to assess their competition than the rest, and they know Rogla far better than Pogi does.
UAE brought 4 GC guys for UCI points, thats the only reasonable explanation here🤣
In short. Jonas rode with intelligence and Pogi was stupid too much too soon team mates who needs them 😂😂
The Anchovy entered Piranha Mode . . . 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠
Keep training! Riding during the tour is so inspo.
Hospital beds must be the best training we have ever seen 🤣🤣 what a joke!
Legendary stage, one for the history books.
😊👍👋
What a great stage
UAE pacing that much shows that pog was going for the stage and a gc blow.
Interviewer: "Do you feel you've won a psychological battle with Pog?"
"I wasn't even thinking about him."
What a power move.
Pretty sure he said "that", not "him"
Spot on with what you said about a hard race being good for JV compared to Pog. Pretty sure Jay Vine even implied as much in an interview.
So then why are UAE making the race hard when Pog has the lead? They should be riding as easy as possible so it is an easy race and making Visma make it hard and then be there to close JV when he attacks while Pog is in the draft.
Yes I agree, there was absolutely no need for UAE to attack the stage like that, and no need for Pogacar to attack like that, all it led to is huge unnecessary energy expenditure for the whole team, before still huge mountains stages. UAE should sit back and if any other team attack that would be no problem for them.
In order to win the tour, Visma still needs to drop the UAE teammates. Otherwise, it will be hard for Vingegaard to get great gaps.
It's 11pm, I still can't believe what I saw today.
I have to say today's stage was quite a blow for me in terms of the battle for the win. With these performances, the only thing pogi can really hope for is Jonas to full crack like he did last year. But even with almost no leadout I feel like vinegaard is in a massively good spot here
Remco gonna get humbled on the weekend
Grown up riding from Remco today, not giving up, not playing the Jonas-Pogi game like Roglic did (and therefore failed at the end) and in the end only losing by 25” on steep climbs and difficult descends (not his preferred GC terrain)
Roglic did not lose any time 😀
@@GonzoJohnny true but he should've
@@MacMasore If you don't like the rules of a game then don't play the game. The rules were known upfront and according to those rules there was NO time loss. I'm not gonna say i like it much but it is what it is and i would not play this 'game' bcuz of such rules.
But he wil lose time in big montain 😂😂
What GC terrain does Remco like that be won't get demolished by Jonas?
A lot of surprises in this stage... Maybe Pog underestimated how hard it was... Jonas really looked a lot stronger when I think of last 30k...maybe today Jonas would have beaten them all in sprint finish... Was a hell of a lot of work to gain 1sec...but phsycogically Jonas really put the fear into all of them..
I don't think Pog was expecting Jonas to be this strong until late in 3rd week... I really like how in interviews at end of stage they all spoke the truth about Jonas ride today... U could see how emotional Jonas was at the end with tears streaming down his face...
When Remco wears his cycling cap, he reminds me a bit of a dashing Erwin Rommel in some of his photos.
Very strange that there was 3km rule for Roglic today. Remco was given the same time as the second group on stage 16 of the 2022 Vuelta when he claimed he had a puncture, the stage Roglic crashed into Fred Wright. But this stage was even less of a sprint stage than that one.
A bit strange, though I think Patrick's concern that riders will fake mechanicals if they think they'll be gapped in the sprint is unproven. Why throw away potential bonuses *and* risk the UCI arbitrarily claiming it wasn't a mechanical just to start your cooldown a few minutes early? I suppose if the bonuses aren't in play and have just enough left to get to 3k to go they could pull off and wait for a bike change, or something, but given the optics for Remco in the past, it doesn't seem worth it.
Celebrations for Bardet was awesome to see...
Pogaçar's sunglasses look like love hearts〽️❤❤〽️
At least Yates was able to claim his GC spot in front of ayuso before the high mountains. Not that I'd believe that ayuso will be able to contribute much in the train..
On paper, in my opinion, in that aspect....does that make sense?
Pogi running 165mm cranks now according to Nico.
They all looked exhausted cause they all gave 100%...
I still think people need to keep an eye on the general classification. Ain't really different with regard to the gap. There will still have to be some really big days on the coming stages to change things.
Anyone begining to wonder if Tadej still racing hard in week 3 of Giro might be coming back to haunt him already. His full gas anytime he races could be his downfall if he loses 3 in a row to Jonas. Guess Jonas does have big enough balls after all.
This is turning into a Song of Fire and Ice - Pog as Fire and Jonas as Ice.
Jonas is on an insanely high level given the crash he had just 3 months ago 🔥
🤫
Today is twelve weeks EXACTLY after leaving the hospital and still mending from broken ribs and collarbone with punctured lung.
well in all honesty its very suprising yea but these athletes probably have better recovery than any other ppl hence wise they can ride a TDF in the first place. And if you had very good form once its easier to come back, only becoming better marginly at that level takes like forvever
Don’t forget how strong he was before the crash and I don’t believe he’s still at that level but he’s back enough to be competitive
@@kayhayes5114spot on. He's definitely not 100% yet. Good news for UAE and Pogacar 😂
The good old Roglic is back -> crash Rog
Hey, at least it didn't cost him time! Maybe that's his one for this tour, and now he gets his game on. Shame that Vlasov had to drop out, seems a foregone conclusion that Roglic is fighting Remco for the podium. I still have hope that Red Bull Bora and Hindley come good in the final week, just so the final TT is all to play for.
I see a loopng climbe in the high mountain , and we got another winge win , unlees they can stay in range to the last tt
Well I bet Pogi does not sleep so well tonight
The balls on Remco was too heavy today on the mountains, but they helped him on the flat and downhill.
I bet he's already asleep 😂
Bro I can't 😂😂😂
Remco Ballsepoel tried to catch up to Jonas Ballsgaard who apparently had bigger wings.
Pog stuffing his face with food during the ceremonial handing out of the jerseys, possibly indicative of bonking in the stage. This would explain his performance in the later parts of the stage.
When will Pogi understand, Jonas is the best climber in the world and he needs to ride in a certain way to beat him.
I love him but the fact he's so prolific all year round catches him out when he's banked up against someone better than him when the road goes up .
He's in yellow by over a minute, he needs to reign himself in and glue himself to the vinge's wheel for the remainder of thid tour
I think they may be saving Ayuso and Almeida for the high mountains
only alpercin will want to control, break for mine.
The biggest surprise for me was Jonas beating Tadek in the sprint...
Pogacar needs Contador to teach him some wheel sucking tactics
Team Jonas!!🎉
Who's scared NOW, bee-atches named Remco & Pogi?😂
Just love this humble champion. Now, can we please keep Wout rubber-side-down? 🙏
Considering the shape Jonas is in now, I think UAE and Pogacar are very lucky he didn't arrive in the form he would have had without his crash...😊🇩🇰
Sorry, Jonas is 110%. No way he would be on the tour with less.
One more thing, the teams know the shape of each rider. Look at Froome post accident. Relegated to pseudo domestique on Sky.
Then almost sacked....
@@maximilianomartinez7254There is no way his crash didn't affect him
I'm against 3km rule in gc stages like this in 99% cases. But this time it was a very dangerous descent and pretty flat sprint so i would say it is ok.
I think organizers predict that random crash like this Roglic one may happened and they were right.
20:31 didn’t Bora allegedly sign Laskano?
29:23 A foot is 30.48cm or .3048m, it is roughly the size of a human foot
Most got this wrong. Pogi has a strong team and this stage provides an opportunity to attack, to test his main rivals. He did gain 30+ seconds on his 2 main rivals but Jonas apparently was surprisingly strong. But Pogi didn't lose anything and still kept the almost same lead.
The result is better than if UAE just let the breakaway go. Now UAE can just focus on Jonas and adjust their plan.
good points actually
Pog and uae proving to be morons at managing his nutrition.
I don’t know. I want to Tadej to win this. I’m not a Jonas hater but I much prefer tadej. That being said, I’m a very objective person by nature and this looks horrible for uae and tadej. This was a horrible result for them today considering their efforts. And I mean fucking horrible!! And visma and Jonas will be giving high fives all night because that was miraculous for them. UAE need a very honest conversation and resolution quick
And that's it--he now focuses solely on defending, or attacking Jonas. The other two simply can't follow when it goes uphill.
He burned up a lot of his team to get this info, that he isn't stronger than Jonas and has burned a lot of energy to find that out. Which is old data. Jonas is getting stronger every day
I'm wondering, does UAE cannot control Pogacar or they just suck at making right tactics 🤔 He was empty, chewing on the podium
He lost by half a wheel, I don't think it was that bad of a tactic.
@@adshdhhhd7783 while burning fifty percent more energy
Agreed that we burns a lot of energy since the beginning of the race and that he seems to do the same error as the last two years. We will see...
4:44 if your team is less shouldn’t it be more normal to try to get in the break?
Man is seriously gonna complain about rules being announced before hand and then applied as intended.
Poggies team in the top 10 i think poggie does his own thing when ever he wishes. So his team do what they can and then do their own race
@benji please try to say "on paper" less frequently 🙏
No 3km rule should not have been applied on this stage.
Do you think Adam Yates cooked Almeda and Ayuso on purpose? May be some intra-team drama on UAE...
39:14 a bit of a Pyrrhic victory?
36:21 Vingegaard was cooking and Roglic got burned 😅
Absolutely opposed to the 3k rule on a clear mountain stage.
Sorry Benji but the idea of Jonas being favorite to win is fanciful. Weaker team and a messed up preparation is the perfect recipe for a week three capitulation. He looks great now but Pogacar looked good last year too and we saw how that panned out. There's no substitute for training volume.
Could Jonas win? Absolutely but I wouldn't put a penny on it personally.
The thumbnail says this is stage 10
Thanks, fixed!
Thank god for Jonas and his massive balls or this tour would be over.
I would guess that the 3k rule was probably implemented in the event of bunch sprint because of how sketchy it was.
As in the chat…Remco will not be in top 5 in the end
UCI: "Today is a rest day for Vingegaard's hater"
it's not spanish but it is pronounced "auri-yak"
Did Fred? ... From Bahrain Vic get dq for finishing outside of time curfew? The telecast ended and he still is no where to be seen
What are the odds the French media accuses Jonas of doping in between Puy Mary and Pertus? 😅
Too bad Remco didn't have the balls to pull with Roglic and Vingegaard
Poetic justice 😂
They could modify the 3-km rule so it only applies to groups of, say, 15 or more riders. That way it wouldn't apply in situations like this
Ayuso isn't going to win any respect and in the future his teammate will turn inside out for him, if he doesn't show that he can sacrifice himself for the glory of the team. Doesn't matter you are a leader or not. That's how you learn to be a great leader. Humility. Just see how MVP works for leadout for his teammate.
I’m getting tired of Jonas’s false humility. (Reminds me of Froome a bit) Every interview is “oh my gosh, I didn’t think I was going to make it. I can’t believe I had the legs to win. Etc.“
Just once I wish he would say something like “I’m in the form of my life. Turns out, the crash didn’t affect me as much as people thought it did. I’m going to carve decades of time in the mountains because I’m going to kill everyone.”
Similarly, I wish Pog would be honest and say something like “I’m terrified of Jonas. I was hoping to be 5 minutes ahead at this point. I’m cooked.”
Cannot help but feel that the opinions are a tiny bit biased and less objective because both picked Pogi for the win during preview..
And what?
Guess who sucked wheel today for 5km? Hint -->> it wasn't Vingegaard!
Jonas has the cojones after all.
Guys you need to stop pronouncing Matxín as “matching”. The real pronunciation is way closer to “machine”.
Vingegaard = Legend!
Pogacar =Leg End!
