Said to be the largest intact Victorian Neighborhood in the U.S. with approximately 2,000 townhouses in the diverse architectural styles of that period. The streets spread out towards the west in the shape of a fan, hence the name of this historic district. After spending some time admiring the different styles, stop in at one of the many restaurants scattered throughout the Fan District.

It is underrated!
I lived in the fan for a short time in the spring of 1973. I lived on N Harvie. You crossed S Harvie, a short walk from where I lived. The beauty of the Fan, I think, is the beautiful homes in the neighborhood. You have to get off of Main to see the best of the neighborhood.

Thanks for your walking tour series on YT, I no longer need to physically visit Richmond again as my aging legs can no longer handle many city blocks walking these days.
I was surprised to see murals in most of your filming walks as they reminded me of Philadelphia's city arts project. Likewise in Crystal City (VA) where different sizes of murals have appeared. It's also good that you didn't have to include accompanied music on your tours. 🕊️👍🌷

yes, the mayor of the city does not keep order in the city at all. the roads are broken, the sidewalks too, wires hang overhead, in the entire civilized world wires are buried in the ground, and here they still weigh, and even on moldy wooden poles. Horror.
Richmond has beautiful architecture, but all these flaws make it unkempt. People please do not throw garbage on the ground, there are garbage cans for this, you live in the USA, not in the slums of India. It is within our power.

wow. this place looks NOTHING like the good places of New York city, or even Miami suburbs or Cincinnati. [outside the bumm areas of those cities ]. So this is Richmond? Dude, it looks dingy, not attractive. Do they have any parks, museums or river walks? I have heard the best place to walk in Richmond, is the capital main street area and business district.
