Everyone on here gushing over Magneto 😂 Magneto is my favorite XMen character. But he IS a supremacist. He literally believes his race is superior to others and believes his race ought to then have dominion over them. I just dont have a problem with it. Its just funny to me that most of the time it's the very people who rail the hardest against racial supremacy in real life, idolize and romanticize a fictional racial supremacist.
Magento was at the poles where his Magnetic powers are at their peak. It also wasn't a mere laser but a laser from probably the strongest sentinel in the series.
You also need to put into account, sanding at the poles means he can fallow the direction of the magnetic field just like how in combat, when someone swings a fist or knife or whatever, since they are movie in a circle, we can continue that circle and use little energy to take the down. But against the sentinel, magneto was going linear vs linear. And his powers dont move in linear form like a laser. He manipulate the fields around stuff. Meaning he cant go one on one with a linear attack like a laser for too long. Eventually, if the force of the laser is strong enough, it will break the fields magneto manipulates and thus, he will be overpowered. The same happens when you punch the ground. The forces holding the atoms of the cement together are more powerful then the forces holding your fist together. So your fist breaks. But if you use a drill, the cement is a big object vs a powerful linear force so the linear force will win and you’ll eventually break the cement. There is a lot of science in the xmen powers. Yes a lot. For example, magneto can pull humans apart. Yes. That’s because we are held together by magnetism. So he can pull us apart. We saw him do a little of this when he used his powers in the episode “enter magneto” to hold storm, Scott and Logan in a force bubble and then even prevent storm from flying so all three fell to the ground. Or as we see in with gambit, in order to use his powers, he has to first make movement to generate energy before he can transfer that energy to an object. He cant just use his powers if he is standing and doing nothing. There is no kinetic energy to transfer.
A robot that leveled a city FILLED with super powered beings, some of whom would give someone like Cap or Ironman a run for their money. Plus he likely could only hold off the blast for so long, sadly.
Does any elsehave a problem with literal animation. I find id great in some aspects and not so good in others. I prefer the 2d animation from the 90's.
@@Waltersop No, it has nothing to do with nostalgia. It's my eyes. Sometimes watching this anime type animation looks blurred and weird. Sometimes during fight scenes I can't tell who is doing what because everything looks blurred.
@@newman8180 Maybe you just need glasses. The OG series had objectively awful animation that only got worse as the series went on. Hell, the people who worked on the original show will tell you the animation was awful. The animation was outsourced to the lowest bidder, and it showed. The only part of the original show that looked good was the character designs, but they just flat-out copied that from Jim Lee's designs. And even that was a mixed bag. I understand not liking the anime-like animations of '97, that style isn't for everyone. I mean, it's top-shelf animation work as far as I'm concerned, but if you don't like that style, then no amount of quality will change your mind on that. But even if you prefer that classical animation, X-Men TAS is a terrible example of it.

It was significantly more interesting with him being absent, plus we’ve seen the same exhausting argument between them for 6 movies we don’t need to waste anymore screen time on it. Plus X’s voice was annoying

@@fmthebaron 🤦♂️ I know. I didn’t say 97 had anything to do with the movies. I said the show was so much more interesting with Xavier out of the picture. It doesn’t negate the fact that we’ve watched them have the same argument in different versions for 6 movies, two other animated shows plus the original TAS. It was more interesting watching the team try to navigate the world and without Prof X. It was interesting seeing how each member interpreted Prof X’s dream and would gave been cool watching how that evolved and how their versions of his philosophy comes into conflict with magneto’s. It felt new and fresh and then they reverted back to the same thing we’ve seen over and over and over.

I think it was more just changing the playing field to be in his favour. Only way humans stand chance against mutants is with technology, and right now with the new sentinels mutants are on the back foot completely. So lets turn off the worlds power, without electricity there is no sentinels, no technology, a world where mutants stand supreme. After that he just leaves to his private meteor to avoid the inevitable backlash. At least that's the impression I got.
@@kendaar9002 And like most things with Magneto, while his rationalizations are logical, they are often driven by spite and cynicism. While he wants to save mutantkind, he also wants to hurt those that hurt him. Hell, when he EMPs the world in the comics, it's almost entirely out of spite. The show gave him a far more justifiable reason for doing what he did, but spite is still a huge motivation for the things he does post-Genosha. The show does a great job at making Magneto sympathetic, but it also makes it pretty clear why he's still a villain. He's the living embodiment of the phrase "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
@trentb3148 he is not just sympathetic in my opinion, Magneto has a legitimate point in the show. Without any form of intervention, following the eye for an eye phrase, the whole world may go blind anyway without Magneto. With mutants either killed or under someone's boot heel. Magneto provides a safe alternative, with mutants proving their strength enough to earn fear and respect, so no one would dare cross them. Its not nice or pretty but its war. Finally there is Charles and the X men with the ideal future, a human/mutant utopia, but as we see throughout the show, will that actually work? They are gambling with millions of lives, while they are morally right at the end of the day what's important is who walks out alive, and throughout the show countless lives are lost in so called times of peace following Charles path. This is why I find this version of Magneto so compelling, he isn't a mustache twirling villain or a mad man pushed over the edge. He is legitimately doing everything in his power to save mutants and all of his friends. Morally he is wrong, but looking at the big picture or the numbers, he may indeed have the best and most importantly safest solution. While we should all strive for Charles dream, he is gambling with lives and in such desperate times Magnetos offer becomes so much more compelling.
Guys, these are all great arguments, and I respect Magneto's character. It's just that his final plan is to destroy the Earth along with all the mutants. Him and Rogue don't want any more Mutant deaths, but they also want to eliminate them all? They weren't any other mutants on that asteroid

I approve
Если бы Чарльз не глазки молодом Эрику строил, а промыл лидерам стран мозги, трагедий бы не случилось... Как и сюжета
Charles isn't supposed to be exploitative to remove others free will. But in the comics he has no issue doing that to X-Men and Magnetom
🥰
Everyone on here gushing over Magneto 😂
Magneto is my favorite XMen character.
It would be hard to not be a supremacist in the X-men's world, tbh
shuts down the world but cant fend off a laser attack from a mere robot?
He was protecting people at the time
he was amplified by the magnetic field from the poles at that time, vs he was already exhausted and protecting people when he lost to the robot
Yeaaaaah thats just your nostalgie talking. The 90s show had some cheap ass animation. Artstyle wise though? Yeah
@@trentb3148 No, my eyes are fine. That anime style animation is just weird. For example, that scene where Magneto rips the adamantium out of Wolverine was awful. That whole freeze frame stuff is just tacky looking.
Why did magneto surrender?
To prove to the humans he was reformed
To follow Xavier’s dream. He is attempting to “be better” and coexist with humans.
The best part was magneto putting a gag on Xavier. I wish they had just retconned him as being dead. It was significantly more interesting with him being absent, plus we’ve seen the same exhausting argument between them for 6 movies we don’t need to waste anymore screen time on it. Plus X’s voice was annoying
This show has zero to do with the movies. It's a continuance of the 90's X-Men TAS and if you watched that show in the 90's, everything makes sense in this show.
This is bullsh--- at its finest.
writers have no idea the actual scale of each mutants power so they fu-- Plot holes to fill the time between the "oh so edgelord" high-school dramas.
This is a VERSION xmen...
This is NOT my xmen.
I'm made Magneto looks confused about genders...
I dont understand Magnetos final plan in Xmen 97, it makes no sense at all
Neither does Cyclops blaming Professor X for making Magneto lead the team, like he'd have done nothing about Genosha if he wasn't part of them?
Horrible
Xmen are actually villains .. megnato never tried to kill any xmen till xmen not started.. and he always gave humen a chance .. but humen is humen
Bruh he tried to release an entire silo of nuclear warheads way back in the first season .
You are this ignorant to say this without ever watching the old show to know that Magneto was strictly a villain.
@@murk4552 i always show.. you guys believe on face value instead of place value.. if someone has red burnt face with horn he is daemon.. who looks beautiful noce hair style body shody is god
@@murk4552 Magneto was a good guy in the majority of the episodes in the 90's X-Men TAS actually if you watched it all. Him and the X-Men teamed up a lot more than they fought each other.
