my favorite thing about this video is just seeing how 90% of his process is simply trial and error, and most of the time it seems like he holds onto a sound until he REALLY REALLY doesnt like it.
Please keep attacking higher level audio concepts, there are a million beginners RUclips channels, and not enough actual in depth tech talk for us nerds, thank you for the great content brotha
This guy doesn't know what he's doing lol
@@andresrealmusic Well subtronics is selling out shows and you just have one video from 3 years ago soooooooo....

this guy seem so funny. Keep up with the edm production!!
not me mastering like virtual riot and Jesse lmfao
"Someons like it sounds good"
lmao mushrooms.
The best way to show phase is if you take the same sound and flip the phase on one 180 degrees the sound disappears completely
lmao if I would've gone to icon I would've been expelled for sure haahaaha

soft clipping basically round curves out the audio that meets the threshold of the compressor, meaning its more of a gentle cut, helping maintain some dynamics of the audio signal. Limiting is literally a Brick wall - You can have dBs upon dB of frequency build up, but once it smacks the limiter, the audio is literally cut and deleted. It is literally no more - The computer then has to adjust and draw in almost a square wave type of signal to fill in the blank that was cut from the limiter. Both are good, both are useful. Both have different tonal properties.
Thank God I actually knew how these worked and I wasn't pressing random buttons like a monkey lmao. 😭
Actually just a few corrections so some people don't get wrong information. Limiters don't actually cut the waveform but pushes it down to the set threshold. Clippers actually do cut the waveform. Also softclippers can brickwall a sound because softclippers are basically just hard clippers with a knee. Hard clippers will brickwall the sound immediately at the threshold. Softclippers will ease in the amount of controlling of dynamics until it eventually brickwalls at the threshold. Clippers don't use attack or release variables so that's why it results in distortion. In this way, hardclipping is not used often for controlling dynamics because it results in typically harsh distortion in the high end. Softclipping with its gradual control on dynamics before the brickwalling happens results in distortion that is not as harsh. The reason people at times use softclipping rather than limiting is because limiters(when used in excess) can result in the transients being softened which means less punch. But each has its own style if you're mixing for loudness.
This is some newer stuff with clippers but sometimes even normal softclipping can still be harsh at times so using a spectral clipper to control dynamics on a frequency level followed by a normal clipper to brickwall is another alternative.
Wonderful Work, appreciate you featuring ✊ 💛

doesn't the attack need to be 0 on compressors used for sidechain so it kicks in right away? 1:00:24

Now this is what I like to see Subtronics, If I could take it all back, I wouldn't, because I'm never sorry. In my defense, our scripts differentiate in size and possibly I combined a little too much addy w/too much alchy. Our back n fourth comments on soundcloud would've never existed if I saw this, because this is what matters. Streaming is the only way we bring authenticity back to electronic music. If you support someone who doesn't stream, that someone doesn't support you as a fan. During a time when all shows are canceled, you'd think the artist who made it big following their dreams would stream their passion. They could literally do what they already supposedly do and go live which would not only make them more money, but also help the musical community as a whole move forward. But they don't. They stream playing games, stream talking, or stream everything else but simply doing what got them where they are. Did it really get them where they are? See, I don't have to ask you if you would stream your passion. You're already doing it yet how is it possible there's people out there with the same passion who will make it big tomorrow and not have a single video of them streaming online? Whatever you think of me, understand I had to see this before I respected you. Keep streaming, and get where you dream of being any ways necessary, but if you do get there, do not hesitate burning any fake who helped you, because remember this line. Once you're there, you stay there, and nobody ever goes backwards.
@Joe DeMera I'm sure you already know about the privacy statue passed in 2005 giving any influencer, celebrity or public figure the ability to create their own backstories toward completely hiding histories while also making any pursuants or investigating tactics toward acquiring their true history illegal preventing reporters or anyone in general from seeking validating truth or evidence. I'm glad we can both at least agree on something since that's a fact n all. #google. Talking about fucked up facts, the more people don't question these overnight sensations, the worse it gets. Video killed the radio start and the 1% killed electronic music acting like struggling musicians while telling poor home studio artists "follow your dreams". If an artists does everything an artist would do if they were faking it, why support them. You're willing to tell me these artists without 1 single video showing evidence of their musics authenticity aren't doing it because theres too much content out there LOLOLOLOL. People wanna see the ones who made it more so than the somewhat successful youtube channel random. It's crazy how you can type Virtual Riot into youtube and find a BILLION videos of him helping the musical community. Of his ass just smiling cuz he fucking loves it with titles like, Grimy Start to Finish. Holy fuck you can see his hands!! Now Type MARSHMELLO. I'm sorry bro, we've been lied too.
@Joe DeMera lets take for example famous guitar players. Pick any one of them. Now go to youtube and type their name. Whoa, you'll find a bunch of videos of them playing the guitar, crazy. You'll find a bunch of videos of them teaching you songs, CRAZY. Now, pick any top edm artist. Wait? wtf is going on......... Or what about finding maybe a childhood video of them showing early musical gifted signs. Type Beiber childhood, now pick any questionable electronic daw artist lol. I'll tell you why I stream or post production grind vids. I do it, because it's the only way I can show off what I'm good at. So it's very confusing to me over 80% of electronic music artists don't. So I'm suppose to believe the media when they tell me, "overnight sensation" yet I can't find one piece of evidence they actually make music. How do you kill somebody with no body? LOL I've learned there is nothing easier than spotting fake electronic DJ daw artists. Type any name in youtube and you'll immediately notice the difference between the ones who LOVE showing off their passion, and the ones who don't even exist. Now, don't be fooled, because fakes absolutely LOVE posting edited videos, but honestly just watching for a bit while asking, could this be faked? You'll start to notice the differences very quickly between the real as fuck vs rich n fucked up. Real artists show their face and hands, they want you to see what they are good at. Fake ones show you them sitting at the comp for 1 sec, then str8 to talking over a screen recording or edits toward faking. Fake artists, you'll never see a consistent shot of both the screen recording and them waist up. Anyways, I'm an asshole, but I'm not the bad guy here, & if you read this novel I just wrote you, thank you for your time. One day you're going to see what I'm talking about clear as day because whether you believe me or not, now it'll be impossible to miss. It's crazy Aoki was a "struggling musician n barely getting by" ya know n then became an "overnight soundcloud sensation" What's weird is people recently figured out who his dad was n I guess the owner n creator of Bennihana doesn't make as much money as we all thought. #howcouldthisbefaked
