Fighting and killing malenia, even with mega cheese strategies, just makes this boss feel like a cake walk. Or any boss after. Malenia doesn't feel unfair. She just genuinely is unfair. So having that be something I dealt with before maliketh. Maliketh took 2 tries.

His second phase was the moment where I was like 'oh yeah, favorite boss right here' Not only is he challenging, but he's fun as well. Just trusting your own skills against a really fun boss.
My only problem would be the first phase where if you have a strength build your punish opportunities get lowered an unreasonable amount in my opinion. I get that some bosses can be more weak against some builds then others but I thought the second phase is better example of that where he is very nimble but if you just spend a little more time learning his moveset you can still easily cut him down.
This fight will legitimately be one of the most memorable because I honestly love the lore of the Beasts. Seeing Gurranq actually being this was impactful as hell. The Beasts worshipped the dragons, afterall. I'm still sour that there isn't an option to bring upon an "Age of Beasts/Dragons" as times past. I really, really, really pray that this is a DLC ending, if not just more building upon that. That and the underground.

1:37 is a badass scene. We think he’s an insignificant, wild beast flailing stones defensively….. Until he reveals his true form and stops holding back.
that's true. I say Gael because in the cutscene when he put the sword on the ground, it's basically the same angle as Gael when he's going hollow. and Ludwig of course, because of the blade covering part of the right eye. but I think that in terms of gameplay he's more like Artorias + Gael, since he fights more like a beast than an human, right?
No the boss is fucking dogshit because he flies around the arena and it's impossible to get close to him for long enough to deal any reasonable amount of damage, so you sit around praying that he does a favorable move and doesn't end up doing one of his bullshit unavoidable attacks that take half your HP and set you on fire.
I haven't bought a game console since the PS2, but I've been binge watching these boss fights off and on all day. The creature design is just incredible. Truly outstanding artwork throughout.
@Viper Hareous No for real. This guy hasn't done anything since ps2. The literal best era of gaming, as if he's gonna buy the most generic shit out today. Fuck your red dead, shit is garbage compared to everything before it.
The Maliketh theme song is very well done. It sounds like a struggle and when you understand the backstory involving Maliketh and Marika you realize that it is because of his failure to guard “destined death” why the events unfold in the lands between. He is essentially responsible for all of the chaos. Here lies his last ditch effort to keep a deadly foe away from the rune (You), remembering full well what his previous failures have wrought.
The item description for Maliketh’s remembrance says she betrayed him. It’s not said how, exactly, but given the rest of the description, it is quite likely that Marika herself was in some way involved, if not the *true* mastermind, of the theft of Destined Death
This guy might be my favorite fight in the game. So many deaths where I never even came close to landing a hit in the second phase. But like all good From designs, his move set can be learned and exploited. That leaping corkscrew attack he does is the coolest shit ever, btw.
Finally beat him today. Honestly, he almost made me quit. I know he isn´t the hardest boss in the game, I already met Malenia, but there is something extremely intimidating about his moveset the first times you fight him. Also the fact he reduces your healthbar down to zero in a matter of seconds leaves you with the greatest poker face ever reproduced by a human being. He is somehow similar to Radahn, who looks impossible as well as awesome the first time you get to him. However, I would say Maliketh is way less gimmicky. His moveset is hard, but learnable, and kinda predictable. He doesn´t have much health either, is actually quite a short combat. You need a little bit of luck so your mimic tear (or whatever summon you´re using) doesn´t die too early into the battle, but I guess most bosses in Souls saga work like that. Whatever, nice boss.
Perfectly described he’s one of those bosses that is frustrating not because he’s poorly designed or has some weird gimmick, but simply because of your own skill. He’s definitely one of my favorite in the game.
Yeah it’s funny because the rng on this fight is weird, sometimes I’ll walk in and summon my mimic tear and he’ll just walk towards me and other times I’ll walk in and he’ll have me pegged before the tear even summons 🤦♂️ the first phase is easy but after the cutscene it’s just something else, he becomes impossible to hit
If I had to make a selection of best bosses, for me the top 10 would be 1. Rykard and Maliketh 2. Morgott 3. Astel, Stars of Darkness 4. Mohg and dragonlord placidusax 5. Godfrey 6. Radagon 7. Radahn 8. Fortissax 9. Elden beast 10. Greatwyrm theodorix

I cannot believe what fromsoft did to those bosses. I had a short scene stuck in my head from one trailer of a shade swinging a red blade in that arena so i was excited when i entered the temple. Than the beast cleric destroyed me for some time because it requires perfect dodging to escape his punishing combos which i struggled with with my double greatsword build. It was awesome though because he was the perfect challenge for me. Then i got to the cutscene. Fuck, my jaw dropped when i saw the cleric summoning his true form that is posessing the rune of death. A beast like warrior in a dark armour and a black glowing sword. He. Was. Sick. His combos, the music, his difficulty, ... And lorewise... the only diety to exist that even the demigods and gods feared since he was the only one capable of killing them. But does he want to slay gods? No, he is too noble and badass for that. And surprisingly i didnt care that he pulled the irithyll dungeon keeper move on me by lowering my healthbar. And despite the oneshot combos and his insane mobility he had fair openings for you to hit back. A challenge peak, but perfectly balanced. This far he might be the boss i struggled with the most. @@sovereignsammy8528 Bleed. And close range in between openings. P1 he has 4 openings for at an attack. His pocket sand attack and throwing a boulder which you should run at him and roll towards him for an attack. His overhead slam with his dagger and his long sweep from his right to his left, you dodge into his right or your left facing him and thats 1 or 2 attacks. Run away from his aoe and P1 is easy. His P2 is all about close range once he starts his combos as his attacks and combos are medium/long range wide sweeps and you could run into him and easily do 2 attacks maybe 3 and as in the videos when he slams his sword in you just dodge forward to get behind him for either the explosion or the waterfowl attack. His arial attacks are easy dodges to the side when you time it and he will always slam down and do the 2 choices, either an explosion or the aoe slashes. Yes there is no breathing room for healing and either getting to him or baiting him to get to you is risky but with my kill, rivers of blood WA and mimic summon takes too long for the openings and is not worth it. For me the best and most difficult boss in the game. It's designed so well and I have such respect every time i enter that arena. It's the only boss I just can't be totally frustrated with, even though strange words leave my mouth. Strength build works, especially when you cosplay as a Crucible Knight who wants to be Elden Lord.
Idk how, but this man makes every fight looks soo easy. He may get hit a few times, but I don't know how he makes these fights look so easy with such fluid dodging. After that I got one of those broken summons who had a broken weapon art that melted him. I didn’t really care anymore, even if I did it without a summon, I wouldn’t be happy with winning against him anymore and just wanted to move on….. then I got to Godfrey who is probably my favorite boss ever now HOLY SHIT HES SO COOL.
If you explore the underground cities, then you can find one of the most OP summons in the game. Mimic tear. It copies your base stats, weapons, armor, and spells. It won't change weapons/shields, so make sure if you want it casting stuff, then to have your talisman+weapon equipped and not weapon+shield. At +10, it's pretty tanky and it does the same damage you do I think. I'm also using bleed, so that might be part of why it's op lol The only downside to it is that it costs HP and not FP to summon. With it, I was able to kill Maliketh on my second try.

Couldn't agree more. This is what gaming should be
Yeah, gaming should be based on rolling back and forth for 10 consecutive minutes, lmao 🤣
God fucking dammit, he's way too cool. I can't get enough of his fighting style, he fought like an actual beast master-swordsman would fight.
This fight took me a while. There’s some times where I thought it was unfair but it’s really satisfying once you get into the rhythm of his moveset
Yeah definitely not an unfair fight, practice makes perfect
Fighting and killing malenia, even with mega cheese strategies, just makes this boss feel like a cake walk. Or any boss after. Malenia doesn't feel unfair. She just genuinely is unfair. So having that be something I dealt with before maliketh. Maliketh took 2 tries.
@@trevorveillette8415 Lol nope she's not unfair either, all her attacks are dodgeable and avoidable including her flurry, they just require extreme patience and very precise timing. @@trevorveillette8415 No yeah completely agree, killed Malenia with a pretty OP setup for her (ice stomp uchi +25 and a mimic tear) and it still took me like 2 dozen tries, after beating her, Maliketh felt more like a miniboss than anything

This game and it's boss fates make me emotional, man. Like the beauty in the way each boss moves. The effort and passion put into this game is evident
The animations have so much emotion in them alone. No other games can compete with this
His second phase was the moment where I was like 'oh yeah, favorite boss right here'
Not only is he challenging, but he's fun as well. Just trusting your own skills against a really fun boss.
I see your idea of fun is sticking metal spikes up your urethra
My only problem would be the first phase where if you have a strength build your punish opportunities get lowered an unreasonable amount in my opinion. I get that some bosses can be more weak against some builds then others but I thought the second phase is better example of that where he is very nimble but if you just spend a little more time learning his moveset you can still easily cut him down.
This boss is miserable for strength, I’m on the verge of respecing to use magic and cheese this boss, just no openings at all
"To kill what?"
Idk why but that line feels so ominous yet hilarious at the same time for me.

Inb4 you get roasted to shit for using the Mimic's Tear, lmao!
He actually made me quit
Pre patch Mimic abuser and still have hard time. So casul.

6. Radagon
7. Radahn

And i love him. The best boss fight i have ever faced.

I just went melee and roll L1's.
