Hey, what's up guys Nuno here in today's video I want to show you some simple things you can do in photoshop to increase the realism of your 3d renders. So these will be some small details that will add to the render and these small details will add a little bit more humanization to your render. It just takes about five to ten minutes to add all of this and it really increases the realism of your render.
This is done using Lumion rendering software for architectural visualization and Photoshop. It’s a great 3D render software that saves a ton of time for architects because it helps you achieve the level of detail and realism not available in any other similar software.
Lumion is fully compatible with most 3D modeling software, including Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, 3ds Max, Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and many others.

Hi sir, my Lumion 10.5 doesnt use my GTX 1660, i can see it in Task Manager - it only uses CPU - while using Twinmotion it uses my GTX 1660 i can see it in Task Manager - what can i do?..please help
Another great video as they help to streamline the rendering process. Not all of us architects have time to spend days on renderings, so these videos are really helpful!
Glad the video was helpful! :)
Nuno you taught me so much man, hats down to you teacher.

NUno my bro, your render already looked so perfectly realistic... the decals may have added some realism but i think you should try to do these tutorials on a non realistic renders so that the contrast is much apparent. thanks!

Awesome tips... Try twinmotion... Decals are built in just drop and edit...
Do you have a video that shows the making of the base render? Looks great and very helpful tips! Thanks.
Not for this one. Glad you like the tips! :)
Based on your photoshop and Lumion skills I think you'll be receiving a letter from Hogwarts soon
I honestly don't know if that's good or bad, but I'll be waiting then. 😄
@@NunoSilva3d it's good, you're magic
Kindly share -
1. Your setup tour and what desktop configuration you have for 3d work and
2. in second video, your 3d workflow and what software you use for which purpose and why??
Nino Silva, nice video tutorial. Do you have longer tutorial videos for the rendering process from start to finish in Lumion. I have lumion 11 and would like to see your work flow and effect settings. I would be more than happy to compensate for your time.
Thank you! Yes, I do have that in my Lumion Render Course. You can find it here: nunosilva.pt/lumion-course
Muito bom :D Abraço
Obrigado! Abraço
Hi Nuno, thanks for the tutorial, one question though. In reducing the texture, why do you always use fill instead of opacity?
first of all Great informative tips thanks for that but apart from that we cant use these techniques because most of the time we render brand new exterior scenes if we use this kind of tricks the client will see that negatively
Could you use vanishing points to apply them easily on the facades?
3:31 you can also just ALT click on the layer mask then it inverts the selected mask automatically by swapping the black and white areas
Nice one! Thank you.
I do Ctrl+I for invert with the layer selected. That also works.
Hi! The color map you used in the Bike is very impressive. Where did you generate a color map of your render?
When you are about to render, you can select MatID output.
Can u make tutorial on how can i place my render into real scene pics which i capture through my phone.
Sir can u explain all textures editing in photoshop for rendering
need tutorial for smudges in lumion
well done sir, i learned from you a lot. just one thing in my opinion the sky looks too much blue its a little bit destructive
Thank you for your feedback!
Sorry, how do I create the colored map? How do I turn my picture into that colored one where I can easily select smaller details?
Ciao nuno ... video interessantissimo.... potresti farne uno dove inserisci le stesse decals direttamente in lumion . Per vedere la differenza tra l'inserimento pre produzione e post produzione ? Grazie
Thank you! Sure, maybe in a future video.
@@NunoSilva3d 😊👍👍
i like the sky , is it available on lumion 10
Hi Nuno,
I want to ask if we have a chance to change the colors in the material ID map? Because once I had yellow and orange color together and it was a bit hard to select the color I wanted.
No, I think that's automatically assigned by Lumion.
Quick tip, you don't need to inverse before the mask. just click on the mask and click inverse there.
How can we get color mask???
is this from phtoshop cc or cs? I don't know what's the difference
very nice and effective technique for post production, i use it very often! Can i have your opinion about 3ds max and if you think the possible detail outcome cap in it is higher than lumion , and if no why , thank you again for content!
Detail cap in what sense? 3ds Max you can do 3d modelling and rendering, Lumion is just renderer.
@@NunoSilva3d i thought u could do modeling in lumion too with some presets and object shortcuts , but thats not the case apparently ! i am currently learning how to use corona renderer in 3ds max . maybe modeling in 3ds and rendering in lumion is more effective, ima search this !
@@axilleaslax3525 better stick to corona...the results are much more realistic...Im also a beginner btw and its just my point of view
Butttt how do you get the color map???
Nice trick! I have question how does color id work in lumion for example when we render in max we give object Id or material ID or wire color !
In Lumion it's assign automatically the colors for each different material ID you have on your scene.
@@NunoSilva3d thanks can you make small tutorial on it
o color map, tem um efeito pronto no render pra isso, ou tem q fazer o material pra cada objeto?
É pronto. É só selecionar.
can you make a video about the color corrections in post production renders
I'll add that to the list! :)
@@NunoSilva3d appreciate it😃
Hy can u do a tutorial for this render
I'll put it on my list! :)
Hi, would u mind telling me if u did that render via Lumion or which software it is?
Your render is really cool :)))
Thank you! It's done in Lumion.
Nuno Silva cool :))) u really use lumion better than other people. :))
we remember when that textures.com was free !!! 😂😂😂😂
how to have the color map?
You can select that channel when you are about to render the final image.
Which renderer have u used to render this image?
I've used Lumion.
This is great buddy, now I know how can I add dirt effects in my 3D renders. Before I just use PBR materials with already dirt on its diffuse map, this is working good also, but sometimes, I like the material but don't have dirt on its diffuse map, so I usually ended up using it even though it has no dirt.. I never make dirt effect using dirt map because it is quiet complicated to do especially in vray .. But this technique, applying dirt through photoshop, i think is very intelligent method, also I think I can do it compared to making dirt effect directly on vray.. This is easier I think.. thanks sir Nuno ... Anyway, do you do vray render criticism or analysis in ur video?
Instead of saying I click here and say we can go here, it might be a more understandable when you say on what you click. Anyhow it's a nice video.
Noted! Thanks for the feedback :)
How to make 3d render like you?🙏🏻
Have you checked my free training? nunosilva.pt/lumion-training
Good evening, I would like someone to give me a preset please leave me your contacts I have some images so I would like to make presets that are like the images I have to use them in my new projects thank you.
Hmmm.. thats very nice if you have an existing old building in your projects but most projects are new construction and the client wants a shiny new building not an old dirty one, people want to forget about dirt and moss, lol..
I would happy to reach your realism level before the improvements. :'(
Have you seen my free training? Https://nunosilva.pt/lumion-training
I think you need to go see an ophthalmologist to have your eyesight checked because you open your pupils very wide
I am not joking
I think this video should be called "How to add dirt to still images in Photoshop". 99.9% of the time my clients would tell me to remove stuff like this. Not worth a 15 minute video, in my opinion. (You show how to import images into PS, how to use blend modes, masks and the basic transform tool, could be easily done in 5 minutes tops.)
