Great lesson man. Been using these patterns for years since i watched this lesson and after all this time they still prove to be wondeful spices to your playing. Thanks for the lesson!
Dont have a drum kit with me, but as soon as you mentioned, when tapping on your knees or something, I was like, oh yeah I can learn that without drum kit, a minor detail, but very satisfying, thank you for that! What a fun lesson! That third one is nasty :3 Keep it up!
thanks for the vid Man !My favourite ride pattern is pretty simple. hit it on and off the Beat ,but a little bit harder on "and 1" and "and 3". I like to call it the Sleep Now pattern.
I'm kinda disappointed, I thought you were going to teach us some more intricate ride patterns, like in 'Rope', by foo fighters. I'm completely in love with the way Taylor uses the ride in that song, but I can't wrap my head around it. Any help would be much appreciated 👀
Juandi Tissot this vídeo Is more for people who are starting with the ride cymbal. but I agree with you, I hope he does an advanced or intermediate video showing patterns like that, double ride and etc.
Yep. That’s why I’m down here in the comment section. Looking for that same answer. But what I just noticed… watch it again but focus on his right hand. Ghost notes!!!! AAAAAARGH!!! My arch nemesis and true love 😆

made a very similar lesson a couple of days ago. It's always great to see someone else take on the same topic.. Awesome job Ben!
4:45 for replaying this groove. No matter how well i can play this, it's still much better to hear you as a pro do it! Great playing
That kit sounds freaking awesome!

Anyone else noticed that at paradidle part Ben explained the first part as "Bell-snare-bell-bell", but played actually "Bell-snare-body-body"?
that is a beautiful drum kit
Ben can you do budget splash and China cymbals in the future thanks :)
If I'm ever looking for cool ride cymbal patterns I always look to Lars Ulrich
💪😂👍
Thanks man!!

And after u learn these, play 8ths on the hi hat with ur left foot and once u re there.. u re pretty good haha
What is it for, though? Definition? Historical origin?
Love it Ben, love the paradiddle one, will give it a go next time I'm at the kit :)

That off beat part 2 is a bit like the end part of uptown funk.
Can anyone explain that third pattern. I just don’t understand it..

16ths, B = bell and bass drum together, G = ghost note, S = accented snare
B/G/B/B/////S/B/G/G/////B/G/B/B/////S/B/G/G
For the easier version, you can remove all Gs and just have them as rests / empty
@@seadkolasinac7220 thanks!
Lol that third exercise doesn’t match what I were explaining
Buy hey Ben get ozone crash and China 14 inches
Great cymbal
Hahaha first!
