I recently p bought a summit carb the 750 had two excelerator pumps on it a double pumper. I was on a stroked 360 it's a 408 now it has a truck flow heads on it The carburetor was it ran good it was a little bit powerful but it was kind of a dog and I like my Holly spread board a lot better and all kinds of power so I called summit and told them that I want to send the carburetor back to them yhe told me i could try rejetting it and add larger 60 cc pump on the secondary they have a kit that has a new pump housing and accelerator pump and a new spring forward and the hardware to operate it so I bought two of them and put one in the front of one in the back and then I took a drill and drilled out the offices on the accelerator pump squirters are jetted it up but almost five complete sizes from where it was and I'll tell you what this carburetor runs like good now it has so much power is better than the devil bumpers I have
Thanks for the videos on the summit carburetor. I like how detailed they are. One thing I noticed is it's hard to hear you and the drill is going, maybe you need to move speaker closer to you or something.
Would it be possible for something else to be leaking vacuum? Maybe plug EVERYTHING from vacuum except the carb. No distributor, booster, thermo-switches etc. Then see what the vacuum gauge shows(?) That doesn't sound right..
Simply by bolting on another carb (Holley 4160), I could kill the engine with the throttle plate screw. From digging around online this is a common problem with this carb.
Great video. How is the carb working for you on and offroad? I want to put one of these on my daily 74' chevy pickup. I do light offroad and exploring. Thanks
This and part 3 have been a TREMENDOUS help to me. I was chasing the EXACT same issues. Gets super lean and idles high when hot but way too low cold. I have the IAB kit from Summit. Will try the .52s when the weather gets nicer here.
I have had great luck with these carbs, installed 5 of them so far. No issues.

could this cause no-start issue. Get it warmed up and shut it off. acts like it's flooded and won't start until it cools down

If you run the fuel level in the float bowls a bit low they work excellent.
MY WORKING WITH HOLLEY S OVER THE YEARS THE V S MODELS IS THAT THECARB WORKS THE BEST WHEN THE SECONDARY S ARE CLOSED TIGHT
