Vito helped Enzo stay in the US which completely changed his life. He helped out Michael and Micheal always remembered Enzo. By godfather 3, Michael gave Enzo the job of head baker at the top casinos the Corleones owned in Vegas, which also came with a huge salary and benefits. Enzo’s success and life in the US is all due to the Corleones and he always remembers that and is grateful.
A little late but I think michael helped enzo by promoting him to a head chef in a casino of his.. so like enzo was more than some baker to him i guess..
@@Beansy72x Their story goes way back. Enzo's father in law asked vito for help. To make sure the US government wont re patriate enzo after the war so he can marry his daughter. Enzo out of gratitude went to find Michael in the hospital to help him.
0:22 - Michael was a super uncle to Vincent! He was basically his surrogate Dad. Very much a mentor to Vincent they way Vito was to him. Michael got his humanity back in Godfather 3.
I think he was just tired of all the bad blood. Also now that he was sure that Antony would not continue his legacy, he only wanted to lead a calm peaceful life away from all the mafia nuisance!
This was an underrated movie. Had they had Tom Hagin in it and think it would have helped elevate the quality of it, but it was still much better then first appearances. Not comparable to GF 1 and 2, but still underrated.
The fact that people say it wasn’t as good as GF1 and GF2, when criticising it doesn’t really say much. Those two were master pieces. This was still a decent movie by all accounts. It was just let down by the casting which was a real shame.
@@gregwatson8219 Never thought of that. Showed how much he had mellowed and became more relational. Also represented his opening up to Vincent who would he would end up mentoring and preparing him to take over the family.
I wonder if those two girls, the twins, at 2:13, are the same twin actresses that appeared on the Godfather original movie, when they were trying to take that family picture. This picture is filled with details that relate to the older pictures and that many appreciate: Twin bodyguards remember Sonny´s twins, Calo, Don Tommassino and Lucy Mancini (all the original actors), and many more.
Could be. But there was a scene that was cut out from Godfather 2 when one Sonny’s twin asked her Uncle Michael permission to wed. From what I saw in that part, it seems they are the same twins from Godfather 2 and in Godfather 3
Sudden reflection of happiness and satisfaction on Vincent's mother's face, tells all about what the mother and son had been through in the aftermath of sonny's death.
This scene is reminiscent of the wedding ceremony at the beginning of GF1: a dance between daughter and father puts them in parallel, but nothing remains similar to what they were in the old days. The garden basked in bright sunlight where Vito once received his guests and family has become a villa, magnifically decorated yet somber, dimly illuminated with the crystal droplight which has received a long enough closeup; people are dressed more gracefully… all such and other traces indicating the situation of the Colreones being ever more respectable and established. Due to the ‘reformation’ imposed by Michael, the former family enterprise has turned into an empire. But for better and for worse, one can tell how people who lived, fought, loved in their lifetime are irrevocably changed by the passage of time, and something has definitely gone and lost forever.
The last photo of Michael's pure happiness...his daughter was his last piece of peace...so sad how those 2 words spell definitely to a man...my wife means the world buty unborn daughter MEANS MY WORLD....hope she does better my enemies may never touch her...
Santino & Sandra had 4 kids (Santino Jr, Frank, twins Francesca & Kathryn) He has 1 illegitimate child Vincent with bridesmaid Lucy Mancini. We never see Santino Jr. Part 1 - Frank reads a get well card to Vito when he comes home from hospital. Part 2 - Francesca asks permission from Michael to marry Gardner Shaw. Twins are played by Jeanne & Janet Savarino Pesch. Same girls in part 1, 2, 3.
as the film storyline approaches forward parallely Micheal slowly and slowly in a very conscious unconscious way paves the path of his own self destruction ultimately at the end of the trilogy even if he gets successful in achieving the title in politics what his father dreamt of him.
Also I found it to be very bold for Lucy Mancini and Vincent to show up. She was a Crasher, she had Sonny out of wedlock and never married another man. I think that part of the reason why Connie continued to have a relationship with Vincent was because she felt she owed it to Sonny's memory for protecting her or trying to from Carlo Rizzi.
Wait, wait, wait! Who is that man with Kay?? I remember watching this one time and I don't remember that him with her and I don't remember her moving on.
BTW, doesn't Michael Corleone in Godfather 3 look a bit like the Emperor/Shah Reza Pahlavi of Iran?Did the Movie Production's Art & Costume Team purposely model the ageing Michael's looks on the last Iranian Monarch?
In fact, it was better this way, Mike knows well that if someone against the family figure out that Enzo in his youth helped to ovoid Vito's murder, killing him will be a huge punch againts the Corleone Family.
It would be a huge punch not professional but personally as Mike loved his father and he knows Enzo help kept his father alive and risking his life. If Enzo was killed by his rivals Michael would have to strike back on principle and we go into a mob war again
To be honest, I was not impressed by the first Godfather until I saw Two and Three. Then I went back and had the historical frame of reference to understand the trilogy.

Actually, unless something happened off screen, it’s Mike who owes Enzo two favors.

It's a bit of a shame nobody except Michael knows how Enzo helped save his father's life.
In my opinion, if Don Corleone knows you helped his family and put your life at risk during a time of crisis, he's the best person to know.
The only person who needs to know, knows.
Better that no one else knows, or he'll get dragged into mafia fighting.
I recall from the novel Sonny asked for confirmation from Michael whether Enzo stood by him at the hospital which Michael confirmed.

Ah, Enzo the baker!
Its almost like Bob Vance Vance refrigeration.
Probably one of the few times in his life when Michael was truly happy.

Just like the wedding scene in the first movie. Same music and a father dancing with his daughter.
And even the photo scene. At Godfather I, "Michael has not arrived yet"; and in Godfather III, Vincent was just in the same place as Michael :S
And the event had Johnny Fontaine!
I only now realized that Vincent's mother is the bridesmaid that Sonny was bangin' at Connies wedding.
Lucy Mancini
And then, when Sonny beat Carlo
Holy shit learn something new every time I come to these comments. Gold
Yah agree a little bit older but still hot
Lucy Mancini, She plays a big role in Mario Puzo’s original novel.
Don Vito dancing with Connie and many years later Don Michael dancing with Mary . Beautiful scene
