I definitely wish I hadn't bought a new mattress five years ago still looks brand new. And I don't have the money for this great discount either. But thank you for this beautiful video and inspiration. ❤
I have a family of four, and I've learned valuable lessons about modern homesteading by observing the experiences of you and Cam.Your family demonstrates exceptional unity and togetherness
Hi Becky, I’d love to see a video where you cover the tools you’ve invested in that make everything easier/faster, both in the garden and in the kitchen. We are trying to garden more at scale and I’m looking for guidance on what to invest in. Thank you!
I saw a hack for the food mill. Instead of hand cranking you can replace the handle with a regular hand drill and boom you just upped your producing in spiffy speed!
I love the idea of the freeze drying the applesauce. I just canned fresh apple juice and when I saw your freeze dried applesauce I wondered about using juice to reconstitute it 🤔 The sweet potato harvest was amazing! Thanks for always inspiring me.
How wonderful that you will be winter gardening. Hope the strawberries overwinter for you. And so happy to see some color and design in the boys room! Not that it was bad before, just a little sterile. Looking forward to see Nicole's room makeover. Cleaning out my clutter is still one of the hardest things to do. But is really satisfying when complete.
Just an idea as I watch you make the bunk beds up - - - which I did for years for my boys - Beddy's - they are an all-in-one sheet/coverlet set that are zipped around the mattress and to make them in the morning - they simply straighten sheets and zip the side . . . much simpler and no Momma having to crawl all over the bed - LOVE watching your family work together !!!!
I'm always filled with joy when I watch your videos and today was no exception. I was having a REALLY bad day at work so I decided to give myself a break and watch something on RUclips. When I found your video I knew my day had just turned around. Thank you!
I never missed one video of yours, the food you made for your family looks very delicious and healthy, you are blessed to have an extraordinary talent, thanks for sharing your life with us
Thanks for doing a little experiment for us! Working through my apples right now. First year I harvested off the tree we inherited when we bought this house. 290 pounds of apples!
I am so jealous! I grew sweet potatoes for the first time this year and my harvest was pathetic! I will try again next year! Congratulations on a fantastic harvest!
Thanks for your video, I love every single one you produce! As a mum I'm continuously asking myself how you manage to involve your kids this regularly? Seems like I could need some tips ;-)
Wow your sweet potato looks so amazing. This was the 1st year that we have grown and we have such tiny ones from a whole bed we got 4! And small ones lol
Super sweet potato harvest and great tips and tricks with apple preservations. Well done you with your linen cupboard! I still can’t bring myself to discard spare duvets. They’ve been so loyal during those middle-of-the-night bed changes. Hashtag best friends forever. 😂
@theseasonalhomestead Can you share the brand /type of black weed paper you used for planting the strawberries? Also please share the brand/model for your manual counter apple peeler, stainless steel stockpot, blender, and food mill. Thanks.
I loved watching all of you packing up the dehydrated apples: eat one, two into the jar. My youngest son and granddaughter gobble up dehydrated apples like maniacs. Once I have tempered a new batch in jars, I use a two piece canning lid and the jar attachment to my vacuum sealer to get a better seal. Do you ever dehydrate onions or shallots? I seal them the same way and it’s such a nice convenience to have on hand.
I wasn't notified at all that you uploaded a video 😕 As always, this one is terrific!!! I have noticed that you aren't vacuum sealing your freeze dried food this year. Are you worried at all that it could somehow go bad? I'm just curious. You are so smart and read up on everything so thoroughly...can you share with us why? 😁 This year when you do your pantry tour I really, really hope you show us your fresh fruit and veggies freezer 🙏🤞❤️ You are such an amazing family!! Ok...I gotta go watch again 😂
Oh wow! You got a lot of sweet potatoes. I am excited to see how many we get this year. The boys room looks so nice! I can't believe all the things you get done!
That’s interesting on your sweet potatoes. I had huge ones last year and did all my own slips this year from a couple of those and this year they were pretty small. Wondering if I should have started with new slips. You guys are all such hard workers!
They put out the runners but they don’t root, they need to be cut off. This makes for bigger plants that are more productive because they have space. It also means they need to be replaced within 2-3 years.
@@TheSeasonalHomestead lol - never have tried or seen anyone seed start strawberries BUT I totally would not of been surprised if you did😉 So inspired by you and your family.
I have to wonder how your fruit leather would turn out if you did a batch raw and another with pectin, then mix them. Would the desirable qualities of each temper the less desirable ones? Since you garden through the winter, just curious about what state/growing zone you're in.
Love your family an gardening together But I wonder if you could say take like a 2 inch hole bit an pre drill holes in paper just a thought I have some rolled cardboard may try an see how it works I'm into saving time an the back 😊
We had a great sweet and reg potato harvest this year too, I'm interested I'm how you plan to long term preserve. I'm trying canning and fd them for the first time and curious if you have any recommendations?
I can't believe how huge those trays are for your new freeze dryer. I have a medium one so those look at least twice the size. I'm wondering if those white lids are good enough for keeping your apples dry. I have found that they aren't very airtight at all.
You are probably right about the white lids! I noticed that when I was shaking a jar of liquid with a white lid, it leaked out a little. The grey ones are better. I also have a vacuum sealer for the canning lids so maybe I should switch them over to that instead.
They are GE Cafe Ranges, one electric, one induction cooktop. Out of curiosity, is there a reason you didn't pulverize the dried applesauce to save space in the jars? A freeze dryer is on my dream list, so I'm genuinely asking out of ignorance, not judgement.
What to do and when depends on your climate. Do you know what zone you are in? I am in 6b. I have a basic free calendar here for zone 6: www.theseasonalhomestead.com/when-to-plant-vegetables-in-zone-6/ . I also use a digital planning tool called Seedtime. Both planners are linked in the video description. Hope that helps!
Actually kids found it in a box and thought it was cool then they hung it up🤷♀️ Cam lived in Korea for a few years so that’s where it came from. Didn’t realize it was upside down but I’ll have them fix it!

It looks like I'm a sweet potato
Haha!!
Love the Korean flag in the boys room 😃👍🏼 Blessings not from Korea but from Germany from a Korean ☺️
What an outstanding video presentation! -- "Embrace the timeless pursuit of your dreams.."
Great video as always! Where did you get the “log book” you were recording the sweet potato weights in? I want one 😄
I am so jealous! I grew sweet potatoes for the first time this year and my harvest was pathetic! I will try again next year! Congratulations on a fantastic harvest!
I love the random appearance of the chicken.
i just love your channel girl you are amazing,,,,,,,,my korean friend tells me they eat the shoots from sweet potatoe
Watching your family make the most of all that you have makes me smile! I love the way your boys' room turned out!
Thanks!
The young sweet potato vines are really good stir fry you should try it.
I could watch you all day gf!!! I love how detail oriented you are. Everything is soooo neat and tidy!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Love it when you add "food math" into the videos and qty of rows etc.. it's so cool.
Your energy is amazing. Great video.
Thanks for your video, I love every single one you produce!
As a mum I'm continuously asking myself how you manage to involve your kids this regularly? Seems like I could need some tips ;-)
Very nice, always look forward to your videos, thank you for all the work you put into each of them!

I love all of your videos. Such an inspiration! Ahh I’ve got a ways to go.
Cool, I like the idea of freeze drying your fruits.
Wow there some giant sweet potatoes
Congratulations !! you're organisation it so interesting and its a pleasure to see you and family ❤❤❤

Thanks! I will show the freezer too!
Most often I do not get notifications of her content either.
a great video , fatenating , thank you for sharing
Love your videos. So organised and soothing 🥰🥰 thank you 🙏
I freeze dried some of my raw apple blend too! I found that blending the freeze dried mixture before I put it in jars saved a ton of space!!
Oh wow! You got a lot of sweet potatoes. I am excited to see how many we get this year. The boys room looks so nice! I can't believe all the things you get done!
Thanks!
These experiments are so fun to watch
We are actually looking at matresses and are decluttering as well! I will def check these out!
That’s interesting on your sweet potatoes. I had huge ones last year and did all my own slips this year from a couple of those and this year they were pretty small. Wondering if I should have started with new slips. You guys are all such hard workers!
I wonder why that would be?
Question on the strawberry plants. When you use the paper or other barrier type weed block, how do the plants propagate with runners?
They put out the runners but they don’t root, they need to be cut off. This makes for bigger plants that are more productive because they have space. It also means they need to be replaced within 2-3 years.
How can you wear that beautiful ring in all that mud. Aren't you afraid the stone will loosen and you'll lose it. Love the channel ❤
So nice
Love it!! 💗💗💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
WOW!!!! Those Sweet Potatoes!!! AMAZING!!!!🤯 Did you start your strawberries from seed?
No they are strawberry plugs from the Farm on Central

Interesting idea! I would think it would help. I’m in zone Arkansas 6b
Did you grow your sweet potatoes from "seed stock"? Where did you get that? Thanks so much for your inspiring videos!!!!
I got them here, they will come back in stock in spring! www.ufseeds.com/product/beauregard-sweet-potato-slips/SPBE.html

Outward wearing is terrible and I wish they didn’t make carriers that allow for that. Even if you inward carry with a bad carrier, there isn’t enough support. There should be fabric all the way to the knee for a fully supported seated position.
