You get all the crystals for weapon, armor and jewelry if you do the quests you get after the quest that gives you the gear. That are the solo dungeon quests, the first 3 dungeon quests and the island of dawn quests. You dont' have to buy them.
Dont worry once you get to the Item Level of 439 you will automatically get the Quest... for Item Level 439 you need atleast full Frostmetal and Daylight jewellery (+ Innerwear)
