I am in Florida and looking to move to this area, if you can believe that. 10 years ago I looked in eastern Tennessee and there were no jobs, at least any that paid. I am a master craftsmen (Master carpenter, frame and finish to include fine cabinetry and one-offs, circular staircases, finish and paint, new construction from traditional to log homes, light plumbing and electrical, flooring, marine construction, etc, with references and images a mile long) and I am barely squeaking by here in Florida. I see in the TN new home video's from realtors the mexican craftsmanship that permeates, seemingly everywhere as of late and it is a travesty. Cant seem to find a pay that I make now in that region and the houses are too far out from work and similarly priced to Florida which makes it impractical. Then there are the thieving meth heads. Yes, I have friends there that keep me posted. In a couple months, if we are not in civil war yet, I will be making a second attempt and I will hopefully be able to find customers who want real quality and then I will consider your beautiful state.
