am from the Bahamas thank you for the great reviews on our beautiful island an our people thank you very much we love that you love it here God bless an do return again someday
while planning our trip there, this was the most helpful video. I loved the scenes, tips and the fact that you gave an idea of how nice the people are. Thank you!
Hey thanks for the video, was there in 2013, kids and i miss it already......was truly the best vacation ever!!!! Watching your vid, brought back some really good memories. ..... Cheers mate
Leaving to the bahamas in less than a week. My husband, our kids 7 & 8 years old, and I are staying at comfort suites. This video is great, I had no idea what to expect but at least I'm going with some tips! Best video I have come across. I can't wait. We're staying a week and I heard it's big so I'm hoping that's enough time to see most of it.
I went there 2 years ago and going back in June. I agree with you that you will meet some of the friendliest people on this island. We didn't even experience 1/3 of all this hotel has to offer and look forward to going back to explore everything we missed. Great video.
+He Said She Said We took one day to specifically try to see everything. It's so hard to do. It helps if you print off a map and keep it with you. Lots of things in the Beach and Coral Towers are easy to miss including the grounds surrounding them.
Looks like you two had a great trip, thanks for sharing... oh yeah that was the coolest watch display I have ever seen.... greetings from the sunny south!!! :)
I love the video review, this is my third time watching it. We'll be staying at the royal towers at Atlantis in 37 days. I'm trying to get last minute tips and this video helps a bunch. I can't wait to be down there and this video gets me even more excited.
There isn't a video that can capture it. When you finally see it you'll agree. Just be careful to take time to explore because it's so easy to miss whole sections of the place. All towers connect underground all the way down to the coral tower. Make sure to hit up the beach at night also. You can't record it but it's unreal.
We love going to Atlantis and been going for years. Try the local "fish fry" type restaurants right across the bridge when you are leaving atlantis. Food is just as good without the long ride!
I hope you have a blast! The center to pick up your wrist band has been moved to the beach tower as of the last time we were there so when you enter at the casino you'll want to hang a right instead of going straight in.
I am soo glad that I ran across your video! I'm going to the Bahamas for the first time in a few weeks and you have given so many helpful tips. I actually changed my reservation from the Atlantis to Comfort Suites after watching your video. Thank you so much for posting this!!! 😄😄😄
+Sarah Mohamed It's hard to believe but I know folks who have stayed in both and I've heard from multiple people that comfort Suites rooms are actually newer and more updated than the Atlantis Beach and Coral towers and some even say the Royal Towers. You're about to have a good time. When you go down your first morning for breakfast and have coconut toast and corned beef think of us! If your taxi driver stops you at the Queen's staircase on the way to your hotel make sure to tell Tony we say "Hello!"
+JeMiale McKinney I definitely will!!!! I'm soo excited! Even more now after watching your video.😊We are taking our children ages 7 and 12. Of course they want to go on the excursion and see the Dolphins. Do you know about how much that costs?
Dolphin Encounters is cheaper than Dolphin Cay and includes the catamaran ride. Prices flux through the year but Dolphin Encounters website lists all the options.
Hey JeMiale I checked out this video before I went to the Bahamas and let me say your video was a lot of help! We saved tons of money and we had time to go jetskiing! I had also made a review video but not any where near as nice as yours.....so take a look and tell me what you think!!!!!
Something must be wrong with me because I got weepy-eyed at the end of the video when you gave thanks to God! But the emotion started when Anthony started speaking about the 500,000 slaves who carved the canyon. Now here I was just looking for footage to see if it is worth bringing the kiddos, and you provided a whole lot more. Thank you for the wonderful footage on the Atlantis grounds and off. I love seeing the small restaurant and the outlying areas. The beach was marvelous, the ocean pristine. It was all great including your narration. Thank you!
You did a great job highlighting Atlantis. We just got home and I wish I had seen your video before going However, we had a super time with the grandchildren we stayed on the resort and had plenty to do as you said
Great, informative video, great feeling of being there - thanks! Only thing I was disappointed that you didn't say more about the dolphin encounters. Didn't realize there was another place besides inside Atlantis that offered it, so that was great. But seeing the dolphins hugging people was totally awesome!! I can't wait to go there someday!
I knew that you two were different! Since I started to watch the video and hear your very kind voice. Karen and you are such a great cuple, God bless you . You gave me great tips. I would like to ask you many things more because I want to travel with my mom and she is an old lady , and I do not think she could enjoy lazy river in Atlantis haha Thanks Karen and JeMiale you did a great job, very helpful.
Bravo sir! thank you so much for the video! i watched from start to finish. I have just booked a trip there coming up here at the end of June 2016. I'm surprising my gf and her daughter with this whole vacation for 5 days! i booked a stay at the royal towers, i wish i would have seen this video before booking though! Would have liked to pay a lot less like you did. Thank you again! -Robert
+Rob Martin You'll have a great time regardless. If you're in the Royal Towers you are close to everything! The Dig aquarium entrance is literally downstairs in the lobby. Aquaventure is right out the front door. I would encourage you to set one day aside and do nothing more than trying to explore all 4 lobbies and buildings. It'd almost impossible to do in one day! Take a million pictures!
I'm heading there for the 19th time on Aug 1st. We have a couple timeshares But we always go with a group . Those people stay at The Comfort Suites. Great Value. If fact we have 2 rooms booked there for this trip Great Video for sure.
Thanks for the tips, the hubby and I are going on a cruise :) and the Bahamas is one of the stops and I was looking up places to visit while we were there, so glad I came across your video, also the hubby wants "Us" to go snorkeling and I am not a strong swimmer besides I am afraid of animals in the sea and out the sea...lol Thanks again for sharing the video :)
Thanks a lot JeMiale informative video and well put together. Good luck to you and yours. We're going here next March/April 2016 staying at Comfort suites, can't wait. Respect from sunny England ha.
+Baz Ware You'll love it! That's our favorite time to go. Prices are right, not too crowded, temperatures are perfect. This last year when we went we actually bumped into a couple that had seen this video. Feel free to say hi if you see us!
Wow, what a great job! And you're right, the best thing about the Bahamas is the people. They might not always know the right answers, but at least they'll be pleasant about it. I just got back from there a few days ago and can add a few things: "Affordable" eats on Atlantis property are scarce, but here's some: -- Marina Pizzeria, $6.75 a slice but they're big slices and almost worth it -- The burgers and chicken sandwiches at the casual grills near the pools (Shark Bites, etc.) are around $7 or $8, but they're pretty good. The onion rings, at $3.50, were really good too. A fountain soda is $3.50, BUT you get free refills all day as long as your cup lasts -- And, as you mentioned, Quizno's. There's also a Johnny Rockets at the far end of the Marina which isn't too much over their (slightly upscale) US prices The Guest Transit Lounge (changing area, restrooms) in the Royal Tower is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm for those who are departing after check-out. There's a bathing suit dryer (spins it real fast) so you can dry out your wet suits some before traveling, REALLY handy. All pools and attractions at Atlantis close at 5 pm this time of year, so plan accordingly The Dig IS open at night, but a lot of the interior displays will have the lights turned off. Again, great job! .
We saw Johnny Rockets and wanted to go but our budget was getting a little thin and we wanted to stick to it. I think we will probably hit it up next time. Glad we did get to do Anthony's. We also had the pizza. Good value for the money, no doubt. Take care!
We thought about doing that actually a couple of times. Ultimately the prices of EVERYTHING changes so much depending on what time of year you go that it's hard to reflect a consistent price. Some things can actually double when you're talking regular season or off season. I do believe April/May and October are the cheapest times to go especially if you start price shopping a few months out from these.
LilpinkSparkle Thank you! :-) I have a cruise video about Atlantis called "Carnival Sensation to Atlantis" under another account. You're going to have a great time! I gave serious thought to cruising this year instead of flying because the boat is an adventure itself!
trinidangerpuppy , I want to say lockers were between $10-15 dollars depending on size. I just went back two weeks ago so I should remember but I think that's about right.
GREAT VIDEO WE LEAVE IN 30 DAYS AND ARE STAYING 11...WONT WANT TO COME HOME...I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO SAY THE MOST AMAZAING THINGS YOU SAW ON THE ISLAND WAS YOUR WONDERFUL GIRLFRIEND OR WIFE.
I passed that along to my wife and she appreciates the compliment! I know you all will have the best time and yes the last day to leave and come home is a pretty sad day! :-) Takes lots of pictures.
We'll be leaving soon for our trip and getting excited to get there! Forgot to ask you, do you get beach towels from Comfort Suites that you can carry to Atlantis or do you get towels there? Also, do you have to get there super early to get a beach chair at Atlantis since probably their hotel guests have immediate access to their facilities. I saw you used Atlantis' spa, can you use their fitness gym as well?
Hi, great video! My hubby and I are going to stay at the Comfort Suites in December of this year. Just out of curiosity, do you have to pay the surcharges and fees upon arrival? I booked through Expedia and I would have thought those charges were already included in the price. Should I expect to pay hundreds of dollars more at check-in? We will be there 7 nights.
Margarita Acosta Be very very careful about this. I booked through Priceline and it seemed as if all taxes and fees were included. Most major booking sights exclude the energy surcharge and when we arrived we had to pay the energy surcharge even though we paid for the trip through Priceline. Call the hotel or call your booking agent and double check. There is a chance you may owe it per person per day when you arrive. Better to find out early. We owed it but we were expecting it because we asked specifically.
+JeMiale McKinney.. quick question.. with the comfort suite atlantis pass , the dolphin cay is not covered ? wondering why you guys booked separate outside excursion.
+Dhanashri Gosavi I believe dolphin cay is extra whether you stay at Atlantis or at Comfort Suites. Dolphin Cay is the newer attraction on the Island. Dolphin Encounters has been in business longer and they are cheaper. Both are wonderful but we like to book with Dolphin Encounters because they are located on another Island. For the price of admission you also get a thirty minute boat ride which is very scenic. You'll pass by the Island where parts of Gilligan's Isle was filmed as well as Eddie Murphy's personal island. It's a cheap way to get off the Island for the day. Plus the dolphin-actor that played Flipper is exclusively at Dolphin Encounters!
We go once a year. Small details change like where you get the wristband from but the quality is still there, free passes still are a part of it. We are going back this year
I'm so glad I found this video!! Very nicely done and I enjoyed watching it so much. My hubby and I are going next month for our 25th wedding anniversary and your tips are going to be so helpful!! Question for you,,,do you need the bracelet only if you want to do the water parks etc. Or can you by pass that and say go to the beaches on the property one day? Thanks in advance!!
I apologize that I missed your question before it was too late. Hopefully you had a great time. From the 4 time we've been I think whether they let you walk onto certain parts of the resort depends entirely on which staff members are working. Some seem super strict and some not as much.
We'll be cruising to the Bahamas this coming October. We're looking for a place to Jet-ski and heard you mention Jared and Randy, could give us an idea of where they are located?
yuri92102 I had the same question. Right there on the beach in front of Atlantis. If it's choppy the companies that rent the Jet skis and parasailing won't come out so if you don't see them that's why. But if the water is calm enough it is impossible to miss them. Be warned that they are nice but very aggressive. They'll never be mean but they try like crazy to sell their service because there are like 4 different companies on the same beach. I wouldn't put it past them to fib and say that they've never heard of Jarrod, Randy, or Roddy. Like I said they are nice but super insistent you use their company as you walk by them all.
Wow! this was a great step by step video. Thanks! I have friends that are from the Bahamas, yet I've never visited it. I now know where to stay, (Instead of their relatives) and what to do. I wish I my husband and I could go with you guys on your next excursion! I know price changes, but could you 'estimate' how much for each excursion: Jet ski Snorkeling Dolphin swimming My husband needs specifics before he'll agree to so. :)
Rose Blake No problem! Jet Skis will $60 an hour (negotiable). Snorkeling prices are listed on Stuart Coves website and they change depending on the time of year so that is the most accurate place to get a quote. Dolphin petting would be on Blue Lagoon islands website (Dolphin Encounters). I think it was around $120 or so. I think Dolphins and snorkeling aren't as negotiable as jet ski and para sail.
Thanks for sharing. Lots if tips. just wondering... do they allow waterproof camera on the slide? Or you were using go pro and strapped on your head to make tjis video??
At the time I had a Flip Video HD camera with a special case that was designed to take underwater. I just held it in my hands. They were fine with it. I don't believe the make the Flip anymore so if I had to do it again I may use the GoPro.
+Julia Hill I'm not really a good judge as I have only done Dolphin Encounters and not Dolphin Cove. I saw Dolphin Encounters years and years ago in a cheesy movie that takes place at Atlantis called "Holiday in the Sun" so we wanted to go to all the same places featured in the movie. Dolphin Encounters is cheaper and it is on another island so with the price of admission you do get a free boat ride that lasts about 20 minutes. The boat ride offers a neat chance to take some pictures out on the water and is almost like a mini tour. The quality of Dolphin Cay/Cove on site at Atlantis may be higher because it's newer but again I wouldn't know.
JeMiale McKinney GREAT video, I really liked it! My family and I are from Argentina and we're going there in April 2015, but we're only visiting for one day. Would you say a day is enough to do Aquaventure, the aquariums, The Dig and exploring a little bit inside the hotel? And, is there any particular place within the hotel that you would recommend to visit? We live more than 4200 miles away from this resort, so it's a one time thing!!
luuchoo G Are you going on a cruise? To do all that you want to do in one day is a little tricky. Sometimes when you purchase guest passes for the day you have the option to have a guided tour. It may be in your best interest to ask if you can skip the tour (saves an hour) and just ask people how to get to Aquaventure and the Dig and all of that. In Aquaventure you can ride the current (lazy river) around to each slide but don't spend all day on it. By the time it takes you 20 minutes to float to the next water slide you could have walked to the next one in 3 minutes. Ask where the Power Tower is and specifically ask how to get to the Abyss slide (it's the best one) and then go to the other tower for the leap of faith. The most impressive indoor stuff is in the casino and in the lobby of the Royal Towers (you can enter the Dig Aquarium from this lobby). There is some decent stuff in the Coral towers and beach towers like a library and some restaurants but if you're running short on time that would be the first thing I'd skip. If you've seen one library/restaurant you've seen them all in regards to these. No matter how hard you try you can't see everything in one day. It's not possible. My last trip I was there for 4 days and still missed major things. So essentially prioritize Leap of Faith slide and Abyss slide, see the Dig, and see the lobby of Royal Towers. Of course you'll see the beaches in the course of doing everything else. Hope this helps! :-)
JeMiale McKinney yes, we're definetly skipping the tour, we're going to do all the slides first, then the lazy river, the dig and the rest of the aquariums. Or that's our plan at least... thank you for your answer! It helped A LOT!
hi great video! do the guests at comfort suites also get free access to the water park at atlantis? do they get everything that is available to the atlantis guests? such as aquariums etc
You literally get everything that is for the Atlantis guests. You can be on the grounds of Atlantis at any time of day (Our first night there we strolled over and walked around until 2 in the morning I think). You get the aquariums, nightclubs, movie theater, library, beach access. Go back to Comfort Suites for breakfast though! Its free there. :-)
JeMiale McKinney thanks for the reply! my husband and i are looking for a romantic getaway...and i've been searching but i couldn't find anything of the sort here at atlantis...where you can have private dinner for 2 at the beach....do u know if they have anything like that at atlantis? would u suggest renting a car to tour the island?
Great review! I'm surprising my boyfriend with a trip to the Bahamas next May. We are staying on Paradise Island. I was consider Atlantis but it seems a little expensive. I checked out Comfort Suites and it seems like the perfect choice! Free Breakfast and only a seven minute walk to Atlantis. I have a question regarding the bracelet that you get for Atlantis. Does that cover access to the private beaches on the Atlantis resort? Or are those bracelets only good for the water park?
OK thanks. Did you get to swim with the dolphins or just touch them and see some tricks? I will be staying at Atlantis in a few weeks for my birthday with friends and was checking out videos on things to do and came across your video.
+Julia Hill We chose the cheaper package where we only petted them and did a few tricks with them. The water interaction where you swim with them is more money. We have not done that yet. My wife actually preferred the interaction we had with the Sea Lion on our most recent trip.
Great video, watched it with my family and we are psyched now to go! What camera did you use out of water? You said your video footage in the 'Dig' wasn't that good but we all thought it came out great. Also, to save money for lunch and dinner did you pack snacks and just had dinner outside of Atlantis? Having lunch and dinner at Atlantis will be costly.
ixchel231 We used a Flip Video HD but I don't think they are being made anymore. I heard that Flip went out of business. We had a waterproof case for it. We did pack snacks. We packed Ramen noodles. The trick to making those is to use the coffee maker in the room. Put the noodles in the pot and fill it up like you are about to brew coffee but just don't put any coffee grounds in it obviously. The hot water pours down over the noodles and makes them perfectly. Also bars like nutrigrain bars and snack bars are good. Drink mixes like crystal light powder or Hawaiian punch powder are awesome to bring. Also Anthony's is across the street and the prices aren't bad. Think Ruby Tuesday/Applebees prices. You also have a Quiznos sub and sandwhich shop in marina village and a pizza place in marina village. All these options should save you money.
I asked myself why would Atlantis give access to Comfor in guest. When you mentioned it I became more curious as to why. What was the reason they may have provided access to comfort inn?
It's a policy they've had for over a decade now. Mostly due to the fact that as the properties were being built they were very close together and they came up with this benefit so the building of the property could go smoothly.
+Benson Mathews First time we went we were only there for half a day because we were on a cruise. Second time we were there about 4 days. The most recent time we were there for about 3 days. If you are the type that wants to say you've seen everything the resort has to offer you probably need at least 3 or 4 days. It's so big that it's hard to even say that you saw it all. Took me 3 tries before I was confident that I could check off every last area on the map.
Hello, I commented on your video before, best one out there by the way. I had a question on the local restaurants, were they on paradise island or did you have to go downtown? If so did you walk or take a cab and if you took a cab how much was it? We're traveling in 13 days and I wanted to experience some local places. We have several restaurants booked at Atlantis but also wanted to eat outside of the resort several nights. Also do you guys travel often? If so you should post more reviews. Thanks in Advance.
Hey! If you guys are going then I know you are going to have the best time! Anthony's is across the street from Comfort Suites. It is the closest one that would not be an "Atlantis" restaurant. Most of the other ones are all grouped together at the Fish Fry. You do take a cab to the Fish Fry and the cab ride is about $30. I try to avoid renting cabs often as it can get pricey. We really wanted to eat at Oh Andros at the Fish Fry as we heard it was the absolute best. We got there to find that it was cash only so we went for Twin Brothers which was pretty good. This area of town has a distinctly different feel from the results. You definitely feel like you are in a downtown area, however, everyone was friendly and perfectly nice. All the cab drivers seem to push for Frankie Gone Bananas so we may try that next time. We travel a lot for business but don't post most of those as some of the towns aren't so glamorous. We hope to do more traveling and filming in the future. Have a great time! If you post a video of your adventure feel free to post your link here.
What was the overall price of your entire vacation if you don't mind me asking. We are going on a cruise and have booked the day excursion to Atlantis, but this seems like a great option as well.
Alyssa Bull When we went this last year we only stayed 3 days. When we went 2 years ago (at the time of this video) we stayed longer. I'm sorry but I don't remember how much. I know that we opted for a lot of extras like seeing the dolphins and going to dinner etc. This year when we went I think flight plus hotel was like $470 a person plus the energy surcharge and gratuity. I have gone before with Carnival. The first time we saw Atlantis was with a day pass. If possible try to skip the tour as the guide you in. It eats up 30 minutes of your time. Some guides won't let you break away though. Also download a map of Atlantis and decide what parts of the resort are most important to you. The grounds are so massive and the buildings are so huge that you can probably realistically see about 25% of the place before you are out of time so decide how much time to spend at Aquaventure, how much on the beach, how much on the dig, how much exploring the lobbies etc because the time will run out fast. If they give you the option take a cab back to the ship as late as possible instead of taking the bus that is provided. It will buy you more time. Sorry I can't remember more details of prices. Prices also change drastically based on time of the year. Have a blast!
Thank you so much for the detailed response! This is very helpful to us! What in your opinion are the must sees and must dos considering we have a time crunch to visit Atlantis for the day!
Alyssa Bull Check with members of your party because people's opinions vary on whats most important. If you look at a map of Atlantis there is a very narrow strip of beach that sticks out into the ocean. This narrow section of beach separates Cove beach from Atlantis beach. It is one of the most beautiful spots for photos. It'll be easy to see because when you go up in the towers for the waterslides it is easily viewable. They have signs that warn you to stay off the rocks on most of the beaches. However (and its bad that I'm telling you this) but if you walk all the way to the end of the peninsula/narrow beach towards the ocean you are out of view of the lifeguards. Fairly easy to step out onto the rocks and once you do the view of the ocean crashing on the rocks takes your breath away every time. Don't miss the Dig (Aquarium). Last time I was there this year we had a rainy day so I decided to explore every lobby (It took about 2 hours). The architecture was GORGEOUS however if you have to skip anything skip touring all the lobbies. The smaller towers (Beach and Coral towers) have a crazy amount of restaurants and libraries, arcades, comedy clubs inside them. Its crazy to see so many activities but skip the beach and coral towers. It's not noteworthy unless you have time to kill. If I had to give you a list of things not to miss it would be this. See the peninsula area of the beach, SPECIFICALLY ride the Abyss slide and the Leap of Faith. There are other slides but don't miss those. See the Dig. See the inside of the Royal Towers which you'll do by default as you enter the grounds. Take lots of photos and if you do a video feel free to post it in the comments here!
We are heading to Atlantis in 10 days. Was it busy when you were there? I picked this time of year cause its after spring break. Great video, I got butterflies watching it, knowing my sons will remember this first family trip.
Laura Hansen I almost always go in April or early may. Not terribly busy. If you wake up early and hit Aquaventure early you can have your choice of slides with no wait. The Dig is so large that it is never really crowded even when there are a lot of people down there. If you happen to be wandering around when I cruise ship stops for a visit the lobby of the coral towers and some of the hallways get a little crowded because they are all trying to figure out where to go. Take twice as many pictures and videos as you feel like. You'll love going back and looking at them later! Great trip for a family to create memories!
JeMiale McKinney You were right! not very busy. Your video helped enormously with instructions getting to Atlantis from the Comfort Inn. Anthony's restaurant was close and satisfying. Thanks so much. To anyone who is wondering, the water is completely safe to drink on Paradise Island. They have their own well and filtration system. Just don't drink the water in Nassau!
+Alley Jay At this point I would think almost all the rooms have gone through the remodel process. You can call the front desk and request to be on the floor that is closest to the door that leads to the walkway to Atlantis.
Good question cause we wondered the same thing. There is a beach at Atlantis that is specifically for third party water sports vendors. Jet skis, Banana boat ride, parasail, they are out there all day from about noon to about 5 and its impossible to miss them. Ask for Jarrod and Randy.
That depends on how you book. If you fly in and stay at Atlantis or at Comfort Suites you have access to everything. Beaches, pools, etc (sometimes they are protective of the Cove and Reef areas.) If you sail in on a cruise ship the package you buy determines which beach they will let you walk onto. And they do check wristbands as you walk from one beach to another.
How does the pink card to get your Atlantis access pass work? Do they look up your reservation based on the info on your card? Or do they list the dates and number of people reserved in the room on the card? I'm confused because we have a toddler that we were told to not include in the room reservation count, but then how does he get a wristband? Thanks!
J Ma Actually not sure about that one. Each Comfort Suites room gets 4 wristbands a day max. As far as how the pink card works I don't remember. I don't remember if the pink card just has your total number of people printed on it or if each person gets their own card. They are very understanding though. They will probably coach you at the front desk about how to insure your toddler can get in.
Question: We are sailing to Nassau in June (4 people). If we book the Atlantis excursion through Royal Caribbean, it is $145/person. We were told that you could stay at Comfort Suites and get the passes to enjoy Atlantis. Is it worth it when you consider the amount of time it takes to check in and then go wait in line to get the pass at Atlantis?
I did this when I sailed in October. It takes less time. When you book through the ship you have to get off the ship, wait for an hour for them to hand out wristbands, get dropped off, wait for your tour guide to meet you, take a tour (for some reason), get self explanatory things explained to you, then they finally release you. If you book the hotel you get off the ship, find ANY cab driver and tell them you're at the Comfort Suites, you get there quicker, takes 5 minutes to check in. When you are checked in you have a room that is technically yours meaning you can go there if you want to nap or shower before heading back to the ship. Get your passes. Pick up your wristbands AT Atlantis. Shortcut through the dig and you're good to go. I've done both. I would always book Comfort Suites. Do be prepared that the island will charge all 4 of you $20 "energy surcharge" but you normally still come out way ahead financially.
We went through bookingbuddy.com but then I think booking buddy then displayed a deal from Priceline that we took. Booking buddy is great because it searches all the travel websites and gives you the best deal. Watch out for packages that appear to be super cheap but have lay overs. You can pay a little more for a direct flight on most of these.
Is cash or credit card better or both? And how much you think I'll spend for 5 days. It's me my wife and son. We paid the airlines plus the hotel. Just wondering how much would we spend a day out there?
kungfuspic You'll want some cash for tips and for places that are cash only. They take american money which is convenient. Some places though only take cards and be prepared that a lot of convenience stores have $5 or $10 minimum purchases so its hard to just stop and buy a bottle of water for example. Remember that you'll have a lot of things to do that are free like Aquaventure and walking through the Dig. For that you'll need a card to rent a locker but its like $12. Rent the locker early and keep the key even if you leave for lunch or something so you wont have to re rent the locker in the afternoon. The rest is very subjective as far as how much money. Do you normally like to buy tshirts and trinkets and such at each place? If so then bring more cash. Jet skis are $20-80 depending on how long you want them. Para sailing is $100-200. Ask your cab driver to stop you by the Queen's staircase. Its free to see. You'll literally be looking at the birthplace of the entire nation. Ask specifically for Tony if he is working that day. Let him give you the short tour. You'll be amazed. Slide him a good little tip if you can. Tell him we sent you. :-)
Natania asked how much the jet skis were. I don't know why but this device isn't giving me the option to reply directly to you. It can vary a lot based on how much time you want on them. Anywhere from $20-$100? That's about what I remember.
JeMiale McKinney Hi man... I got a question for you... I hope you can help me... The proble is that my english isn't good, so I need to know if I can find Somebody that speak spanish there?? Thks!
Andres GV I've actually never checked on that. It would certainly be worth emailing the hotel or asking on their facebook page. They seem to answer promptly.
am from the Bahamas thank you for the great reviews on our beautiful island an our people thank you very much we love that you love it here God bless an do return again someday
We come back every year. There is no vacation spot I'd rather be.
That was a beautiful video. I hope the people featured get to see it one day. The Caribbean is most definitely filled with beautiful spirit.
Amazing review, great tips. The best I've seen on Atlantis so far. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice documentary style video. You covered a lot of detail, thanks for sharing. I found this very helpful and insightful.Bravo!
Thanks for the compliment!
The Best video review while traveling on a budget. of any place that I have seen Thank you. well done.
By far the best review of Atlantis. Nice work man!
Thank you!
I' m from the Bahamas, and though I was aware of all that it has to offer I watched your video in it's entirety. Awesome job!!
Changling Kemp Thanks for the kind words!
while planning our trip there, this was the most helpful video. I loved the scenes, tips and the fact that you gave an idea of how nice the people are. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Hey thanks for the video, was there in 2013, kids and i miss it already......was truly the best vacation ever!!!!
Watching your vid, brought back some really good memories. .....
Cheers mate
My wife and I miss it too. Seems like it would be an amazing spot if you have kids cause their imaginations can run wild. Thanks for the comment.
Amazing review. So thorough. Loved the walkthroughs and the specific recommendations and tips.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I will be going there for my birthday with my family. Happy travel.
Thank you Sir. I really enjoyed. Very Helpful video tips !
Planning to go there next month with the entire family.
Thank you for sharing your Bahamian experience. We will be vacationing there soon. We enjoyed the tips and many location shots.
+Winston Brown No problem :-)
Man! you brought some memories back, I haven't been to Atlantis since 2009.
Your video was enjoyable and informative! Great job! Thanks for sharing your trip and so many details!
Tara K Thanks for your comment! Yeah, I like to look at details when I plan a trip so my goal was to be helpful.
We love going to Atlantis and been going for years. Try the local "fish fry" type restaurants right across the bridge when you are leaving atlantis. Food is just as good without the long ride!
Thanks for the amazing review and awesome tips by far the best Atlantis video. Now I'm really looking forward to my vacation.
Thank you!
I just got home from Paradise island yesterday, LOVE IT!!!!
My dad was to chicken to do the leap of faith.
You did a great job highlighting Atlantis. We just got home and I wish I had seen your video before going
However, we had a super time with the grandchildren we stayed on the resort and had plenty to do as you said
This was a great video! Extremely helpful! Thank you so much! I will be traveling there with my soon to be husband for our honeymoon!
I think you're going to love it. We saw more than one shooting star walking on the beach at night. Great place for a honeymoon!
Really enjoy the video. And help me a lot. I like to travel to Bahamas on June.
This is a great video! Looks like you all had an amazing time there :)
Thank you very much, your experience is very helpful.
Omg! I stumbled On2 ur video & I luv ur attitude in how u put it altogether! Thanks so much 4 taking me away from my housework 4 a lil while! lol
+kathy grace I'm glad you enjoyed it! Anything to distract from housework can be a positive thing! :-)
I knew that you two were different! Since I started to watch the video and hear your very kind voice. Karen and you are such a great cuple, God bless you .
You gave me great tips. I would like to ask you many things more because I want to travel with my mom and she is an old lady , and I do not think she could enjoy lazy river in Atlantis haha
Thanks Karen and JeMiale you did a great job, very helpful.
Thanks! :-D
Bravo sir! thank you so much for the video! i watched from start to finish.
Take a million pictures!
really enjoyed the video…thank you so much for the footage
I'm heading there for the 19th time on Aug 1st. We have a couple timeshares But we always go with a group . Those people stay at The Comfort Suites. Great Value. If fact we have 2 rooms booked there for this trip Great Video for sure.
This video was amazing!!!! Thank you so much for such a helpful and detailed review!!! Can’t wait to make this trip 😍
Great information!
Feel free to say hi if you see us!
pretty good review. now we have an idea on what we ganna do. thanks!!!
Going in 2 days and this was an awesome review and very helpful thanks a lot
Thanks! my family and i are planning a trip next summer ✌😎✌
Wow, what a great job! And you're right, the best thing about the Bahamas is the people. They might not always know the right answers, but at least they'll be pleasant about it.
I just got back from there a few days ago and can add a few things:
"Affordable" eats on Atlantis property are scarce, but here's some:
-- Marina Pizzeria, $6.75 a slice but they're big slices and almost worth it
-- The burgers and chicken sandwiches at the casual grills near the pools (Shark Bites, etc.) are around $7 or $8, but they're pretty good. The onion rings, at $3.50, were really good too. A fountain soda is $3.50, BUT you get free refills all day as long as your cup lasts
-- And, as you mentioned, Quizno's. There's also a Johnny Rockets at the far end of the Marina which isn't too much over their (slightly upscale) US prices
The Guest Transit Lounge (changing area, restrooms) in the Royal Tower is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm for those who are departing after check-out. There's a bathing suit dryer (spins it real fast) so you can dry out your wet suits some before traveling, REALLY handy.
All pools and attractions at Atlantis close at 5 pm this time of year, so plan accordingly
The Dig IS open at night, but a lot of the interior displays will have the lights turned off.
Again, great job!
.
We saw Johnny Rockets and wanted to go but our budget was getting a little thin and we wanted to stick to it. I think we will probably hit it up next time. Glad we did get to do Anthony's. We also had the pizza. Good value for the money, no doubt. Take care!
Great video man. I'm stoked to go for my honeymoon!
This was so very helpful thank you so much!
+Tori Spitale No problem! Its fun to talk about!
Thanks you just saved me a lot of Money.....
god bless
+antonio thomas Glad to hear that!
I loved your trip, I just wish you had the prices of everything. thanks again for sharing your video:)
Thanks for the video 💙🌊 love it, very helpful 💞
Great documentary of your visit. Good job.
Great video! Bahamas in a budget, very nice!
THANKs. -- SUPER GREAT Informative Video -- awesome brother
This was so helpful, thank you!!!
kikigrl77 Thank you for checking it out. I'm glad it was helpful to you!
I'm thinking of doing this trip via a cruise in september, thanks so much for the video you answered alot of questions I had.
LilpinkSparkle Thank you! :-) I have a cruise video about Atlantis called "Carnival Sensation to Atlantis" under another account. You're going to have a great time! I gave serious thought to cruising this year instead of flying because the boat is an adventure itself!
I know this video is old but its really a great video of the bahamas
Thank you!
Thank you. That was awesome 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🇧🇸
this vlog was amazing
Thank you so much!
trinidangerpuppy , I want to say lockers were between $10-15 dollars depending on size. I just went back two weeks ago so I should remember but I think that's about right.
JeMiale McKinney Thank you :)
JeMiale McKinney I forgot to ask how much was the para-sailing?
trinidangerpuppy Anywhere from $100-$150 depending on how eager they are to give a discount and how busy they are. That was for the both of us.
Great video!!
JeMiale McKinney Thanks for the tips, I'm sure they will be all very helpful!
Have you been back to the Comfort Inn and Atlantis since Covid and if you have had any thing changed?
We go once a year. Small details change like where you get the wristband from but the quality is still there, free passes still are a part of it. We are going back this year
@@jemiale Thanks!
Did you receive only one pass from comfort suites or did you get two and received 2 wristbands from Atlantis?
You can receive up to 4 passes a day.
I know price changes, but could you 'estimate' how much for each excursion:
Jet ski
Snorkeling
Dolphin swimming
My husband needs specifics before he'll agree to so.
JeMiale McKinney - Your awesome! Thanks so much....wish I could bring you guys with.....Thanks again!
I don't believe the make the Flip anymore so if I had to do it again I may use the GoPro.
would you recommend doing the dolphin encounter or doing the dolphin cove at Atlantis?
Or are those bracelets only good for the water park?
good for everything
JeMiale McKinney Thanks for all the great tips! They will be very helpful.
Hi, Mr Mckinney, how are the prices for meals? not at high end restaurants.
+Rita Scott Skip to the part of the videos where we go to Anthony's. Prices are similar to Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, etc with appetizers.
Hi JeMiale - Great video! Do you have any tips on taking taxis or walking between Paradise Island and Nassau?
Definitely taxi or water taxi. It's a long walk.
nice video! how many days did you stay here...i'm planning a trip and was wondering how many days would be enough...
Thank you for the tips!!
Nice video good info
how much was renting the jet skis?
The "whatever that thing is" I believe is Chully ( not sure of the spelling) glass valued at one million dollars.
Great video!
Thanks!
just booked comfort suites ! Thank you
How was it?
Take lots of photos and if you do a video feel free to post it in the comments here!
love your video..
Thanks!
How much was the dolphin excursion?
It varies greatly depending on time of the year so it is always best to check dolphin encounter's website for current pricing.
Sorry if it I missed it, but what time of year did you go?
kikigrl77 April of last year
We are heading to Atlantis in 10 days.
Also what room would you recommend to be closest to Atlantis? And how do we choose a remodeled room?
+Alley Jay At this point I would think almost all the rooms have gone through the remodel process. You can call the front desk and request to be on the floor that is closest to the door that leads to the walkway to Atlantis.
HI.. where can we get the jet skis from?
Good question cause we wondered the same thing. There is a beach at Atlantis that is specifically for third party water sports vendors. Jet skis, Banana boat ride, parasail, they are out there all day from about noon to about 5 and its impossible to miss them. Ask for Jarrod and Randy.
so so so so want to go there
do you have access to the atlantis beach
Do be prepared that the island will charge all 4 of you $20 "energy surcharge" but you normally still come out way ahead financially.
.
Who did u book with?
How did you get from the airport to the Comfort Inn?
+Alley Jay Cab
Natania asked how much the jet skis were. I don't know why but this device isn't giving me the option to reply directly to you. It can vary a lot based on how much time you want on them. Anywhere from $20-$100? That's about what I remember.
JeMiale McKinney Hi man... I got a question for you... I hope you can help me...
