Civivi Elementum: Next Great EDC Blade

- You need this blade. Okay maybe not need but I bet you'll love it when you use it. Coming out of the value division of WE Knives, the Elementum has been a runaway success for BHQ. They say they sell out about as quickly as they get them. There's good reasons why. It's lightweight, speed, good steel, good looks, small size attracts smart buyers. Value is good. Many unique scale materials are offered...my fave will be this brown or OD Micarta and the Rosewood versions. I'll show you the knife up close as we check out a cool SU-27 and a lengthy set of equally excellent competitive options.

Here's just some of the comments from TNP Patrons on this video that was posted over there earlier: "Powernoodle Though I have hoarded a few over the years, I still wish that the SOG Flash 1 would come back to life. I was a TNP Regimental Commander way back in the day when you first reviewed the awesome Flash 1. 4 1d CW I used to have one, but ultimately it was smaller than I like. I’ve decided to buy only USA made products wherever possible now, so I sold it and usually carry a protech or microtech. The protech Malibu is currently in my pocket and man, this thing is sweet 4 1d Russ_48 Love this Civivi! I have the exact one you reviewed in my pocket right now. It's got to be the perfect weight and feel for an EDC knife. 2 1d The Nutnfancy Project Yep, it's great! Thanks Russ 2 1d WinterFallout5 Great review cool little blade. I think for the price the other option would be Kershaw Skyline also if one wanted something made in the US as well. 4 1d The Nutnfancy Project Skyline remains an xlnt option, you are correct 3 1d Troy Frommer All very cool competitive options. I've been rocking the Kershaw Fatback for a while now and it has been a great cost effective blade so far. 3 1d TNSheep that looks like a Leak XL copy. 1 1d Todd A Kershaw Leek? 22h Laylit And try the Mini Bugout as well! I bet you would love it, especially in the storm trooper coloration. Cool review, thanks! Unfortunately, i can‘t get a new flash 1 these days -.- 2 1d Todd Strelka Elementum and Momentum. Nice knife and watch combo. Great knives. I'm glad I have the SOG Flash I too. I've been a TNPr since 2011. 5 1d The Nutnfancy Project Todd! 1 1d Plumber Angelo I love civivi stuff! Awesome prices and impressive quality. Those ball bearing actions are buttery smooth! Whew I’m getting excited 1 1d Nutnfancy Ditto; Rob B Got one a few months back. Excellent little knife. Civivi has been impressive in quality for price. 1 1d Nutnfancy Glad to hear, great little knife 1 1d Greg Malcom Love KRVs. You have single handedly converted me into a SAWC snob. If it's above 5 ounces I don't EDC it. This knife is a good option. Love my Delicas though. I have the HAP40 in orange zome!! Gives me chills looking at it! 1 1d Joshua kinnunen Cool knife. I don’t mind the longer narrow blades but for me spyderco leaf for the win. Still rocking my manix 2 lightweight. I did get the mass drop version of the gent back off your first recommendation and it’s a great knife too. Too many knives and not enough time to EDC them all. 2 1d Aaron Brockman 1st $100 of ammo on me for a large bore AR full GRV 1 1d Todd Large bore? .308? or more like .450? 1 22h Load 1 reply Connor Murphy Great Video. Seems like a great EDC blade, especially the lightweight and deep carry clip. I will probably pick one up. Thanks Nutn! 1 1d Johnny I've been eyeing this blade on BHQ. Always out. That's OK. I shouldn't buy any more knives unless it's a grail or a TNP. Better to put my money to save for a new truck. 2 24h Brandon Dubisky I ordered it in brass with black stonewash today! I've been waiting for it to be in stock for a month or two! 1 21h Nathan P Hubsch Elementum vs Honey Badger 1 14h icarusdrowning Great video. I appreciate the extra inside information regarding the evolution of TNP (your thoughts, struggles, etc.). This increases the entertainment value for those of us who have been in the project for a while. 1 12h Daniel Ingoglia Looks like a great blade, very much in the style that I like, this Civivi. Coulda thrown that recent Ganzo Firebird in as a competitive option as well; it's on my list to buy, at only $30! 5h Daniel Ingoglia Well, ya did throw it in! I guess I should wait to finish the video before I comment, but I got excited. 5h Tristin Fralick Blade HQ just dropped a natural G-10 with s35vn version 2h Jonathan Simon That CutleryShope Urban Trapper in orange you showed - went on their site and snagged one. $65 shipped!!!"
It does indeed run on bearings, I think I heard you say bronze. Open it up and check it out.
I picked up a Ganzo G7431 Tactical Folder in orange and aside from weight it’s one of my most favorite knives ever. Particularly because it’s cheap and I can bang it around without worrying about it.
Pulled the trigger on a Marble carbon fiber bead blast. Been a fan of yours for many years Thank you for all your great vids brother !
I received one of these in the mail today. The first import knife I’ve bought in awhile. I just got off work so I haven’t checked it out yet. I try to stay USA made but this one just did it for me.
I’m still rocking my tenacious that you reviewed um maybe ten years ago, many knives have been bought in that time but the tenacious by spyderco continues to stay with me... work, home and out on my mini adventures . I just can’t seem to replace it with any other...
Thank for the work you do Nutn.
I bought that SOG back in 2011 because of your video.
im here since that video of SOG Flash 1 and I bought it because your video and that's why i start my collection. I come back because i get my Elementum
I love mine in Ebony wood.
I begrudgingly ordered Blade HQ’s black S35VN version of this with the natural G10 a few hours before seeing this video. Just couldn’t pass it up for the price, thanks for the assist on justifying my purchase Nut’n!
Order placed Nutn. Thanks for all of the years of knowledge and entertainment!
These make me smile, talk about toys ! a knife is a knife, it’s shape is designated by its intended use and a folding knife is almost always a compromise. A pocket clip is a recipe for losing a knife in the brambles. But if you have a little spare cash, carry on. Me ? I’ve carried a slip joint, single blade, genuine lamb foot (flat, meaning not at all curved) blade, with black plastic imitation stag horn texture scales. A working knife.
Already have the brass, just ordered the jade g10 s35vn steel one today 👌
Just got a civivi backlash in CF all blacked out on Wednesday. Love it and the backlash is on sale everywhere right now. Next will be the shredder.
I just received the new s35vn version today. Love the Jade handles.
I just got mine today. Acid wash black S35vn with natural g10 handles. I can't believe how light it is. It really is the perfect EDC folder.
Where did you find yours?
This was the first channel I ever subbed
My CE is the first knife I've ever handled with micarta scales. I don't know if all micartas are created equal but, these scales have excellent grip despite being relatively smooth. Great little knife.
I agree about the long slender blade. Those long slender blades I find to be much more useful for cleaning game and fish in addition to edc use.
I've had the D2 version for about a year. Sees a lot of pocket time. Just got the S35VN version in the mail today. Both are great values.
Great review sir! This knife does Indeed run on ball bearings though. My favorite knife have 5 of them so far😅. Just ordered the s35vn one today 🤤
👊😊 Decade+ right here! Got the elemetum! Threw a 2 in leather lanyard on it! It Rock's!
The first tabletop, still the best. Great job, lieutenant colonel NF.
Dude, Civivi and WE are taking over lollollol between original designs and there partnership with other makers for their production variants, they're killing it. I think for the price civivi is top 3 in the category and I'll be so bold as to say they're leading the charge. I have 7 or 8 civivi's. Love every one of them. My favorite is still one of the first 3 models, the baklash, i have a regular one and a Damascus one with carbon fiber scales, zircuti pocket clip and backspacer lollol overboard for sure but one of a kind as far as I know 🤫 I'm glad your still rockin n rollin brother, ive been with tnp since the flash video. Huge fan, i still cringe when I see the engraving on the blades but that's just my pet peeve lmfao i constantly check my collector blades for any marks or scuffs lollol
Do you still go backpack camping? Those old videos got me out there. I watched them over and over. Got so hyped to get outdoors. It’s my main hobby these days. Thank you for those old videos!
Bought the sog flash one and been with tnp ever since. Well done nutn!
amen brother, the south will rise again
I usually try to bypass stuff I don't really need. But this one got me hyped. Just ordered a green one on discount for 49€. Can't wait for it to arrive.
I just pulled the trigger on green micarta . How do you like it ?
@@motorcyclemark2889 I like mine very much. Maybe not the most expensive blade ever made but it fits my pocket very well and accompanies me where ever I go.
@@infantilepillock1687 thanks for the reply . I bought the praxis last month but it's a little big for some days I'm thinking this will be a better size for everyday carry .
@@motorcyclemark2889 You're welcome. I don't know the other knife (I watch TNP mostly for entertainment as most guns shown are not available in my country) but I think you will enjoy the Elementum. It just is a nice little edc blade.
@@infantilepillock1687 the praxis is another model of a civivi knife it's bigger it's a nice big knife it has a 3 3\4 inch blade I like it a lot I will like the smaller elementum especially with green micarta I'm a big fan of micarta
Even if I have had this knives, or several, for months, I was still looking forward to nutnfancy's perspective on these. I have a video up on my chanel with the brass, copper, and the brand new marbled carbon fiber version. Anyone here that wants to see some close ups of them head on over. Thanks for all that you do nutn!
Been out of the knife game for a few years. Saw this on EDC and HAD to check the Nutn channel. Got me a D2 in purple inbound right now! Gives me fond memories of the Kershaw Skyline with a better clip.
Thanks for always showing us cool knives even if a lot of your table top reviews are out of most peoples price range
I think it looks like Kershaw Skyline + Kershaw OD2 + Rounded All Edges = Elementum. Love it and plan on buying
I just got the Civivi Chronic. It's similar to the CRKT CEO, but I actually like the design a little better. It's my first Civivi and I'm pretty impressed.
If it’s anything like the Ferrum Forge...best knife I have, and so cheap (relatively speaking). Little more grip and it’s a grail knife. Thanks for the recommendation.
Crazy timing - literally ordered the copper one like two days ago
Josh Rolfe Where did you find it?
FreedomFox1 BladeHQ exclusive
Correction: The Elementum runs on caged bearings. The caging material appears to be bronze.
BTW, there is now an exclusive S35VN version of the Elementum over at BladeHQ.
I've had an Urban Trapper in black G10 and unfinished VG10 steel for at least 3 years now. The only thing that I can complain about is the flipper lug is a bit sharp for true pocket carry.
Totally dig the look of this knife. My wife let me buy the Gent this year... so I'll probably have to wait until next year for this one.
Civivi rocks... a fav. brand of mine and the price/quality is fantastic.
Shut up
I logged on in 2009, November, just after I retired
Just order the stonewashed black with brass scales today! Been waiting over a month for it to be in stock!
ooo I like that version too
I carry a Spyderco PM2 CPM S110V G10 with the Glock 26 Gen 3 in a Q series stealth holster.
An instant edc go to. Everyone should have one
Prefer the backlash and praxis but this is pretty cool
Aside from some special use knives I bought for our community garden (one is a mora!), I’ve only needed that Dozier you recommended years ago for edc).
I do have to correct one thing you said in the video. The pivot is ball bearings not bronze bushings
Really cook knife that has the same kind of use as this is the WE Pleroma. 2nd cool through the roof. But first cool all the way. Good EDC M390 blade anodized titanium and beautiful CF.
Wow, that CEO looks so good!
Came in here expecting Nutn in a deerstalker and TD in a bowler with a handlebar mustache. Missed a perfect opportunity for a Sherlock-themed episode with bubble pipes.
We shoulda'...later maybe!
Mine doesn’t get as much pocket time as my benchmade, but it’s definitely one of my faves!
I just ordered mine 2 days ago from Blade HQ. I got the same one, gotta have the micarta!
Badger I just bought the s35vn with Jade handles. Blade HQ exclusive, only $79.
@@solaydbak Thats a sweet deal $80!
The Elementum resembles a Kershaw Skyline (minus the choil) in my humble opinion...kind of a refined modern version.
Hey nutn, i know the weight trade off isnt ideal. But have u seen some of civivis damascus and brass or copper handle offerings? 2nd kind of cool for sure. Look at the dogma in copper/ brass and tell me it doesnt make the PP wiggle just a little.
The benchmade bugout mini has been my EDC for a few months now, so difficult to justify carrying anything else. Super lightweight, small enough for everyday tasks, love it. You liked the full size bugout, you should check out the mini.
I got one, its friggin great!
This guy sounds like he belongs on the set of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" dudes. LOL in all seriousness great vid man.
This knife is nothing fancy. 😎
A new new Nutnfancy KRV!!! So excited 😁
Been watching since 2011, never change
Have 2. May get another lol. My favorite EDC blade to date.
The elementum is an unbeatable edc for the price if you are in an area with a sub 3" blade limit, such as LA or S.F. Otherwise, a longer blade is more useful and robust.
I went with the elementum simply because I live in the S.F. Bay area, and need a blade that I can carry legally edc without thinking about it.
Love this knife!
Me too!
Great review!
I would love to see you review the new Sog flash AT! 12 years later
The competitively priced modus is frn and d2 on washers
Still love the knife show!
The only thing that concerns me about Civivi and WE knives are considered they are made in China with low material and labor costs they are charging western prices.
I think they are just too expensive my opinion. Civivi prices seem better.
I didn't even have to watch this one to validate my purchase, I love my elementum, watched it anyways
Jake at Blade HQ sold me on this knife. One of my favorites so far!
Hey nutn how's it going been a while great video keep up the good work
Watching while having covid. Day 4
Been here since almost the beginning. And coincidentally I very recently cut the nonsense out of my pinky on a Flash 1 when I reached into my pocket to discover a deployed blade. 😣
Caged ceramic ball bearing bushings not phosphor bronze. Great knife thou
Sure it's a good blade but I'm not going to support overseas made knife companies. Nutn check out the new zt 707 its super light!
Have you tried to middle finger flick it? i've seen someone do that on a stonewashed version
Are you gonna review the new SOG relaunch of most of its folders? It would be cool to see you do the flash mk3 especially.
I'd figured you would have more subscribers then you do cause your awesome
i miss the SOG Flash 1, idk what to get in its place now
Hey, LtC!
Mrs NutN’ is tha’ best!....I’m a regular on your channel and...MrsNut’N is awesome!
What gloves are those? Excellent review, as always
Weird, my grey g10 one has bearings. Elementum gets more pocket time than most. Love civivi hollow grinds, so thin behind the edge and near perfect fit and finish
Yeah, I thought they were all on bearings.
The chassis is stamped, not machined. You can see the tooling marks in closeups. Zero Tolerance FTW.
It seems like the smaller they get, the more expensive (Civivi, Bestech, Artisan). I like bigger (3.75') knives though so it OK with me.
The Elementum does have ball bearings.
NOOOO NUTN WHYYYYY?!?! I’m waiting on payday to get the damn brass version!!!! It’s gonna be sold out because of this video 😭😭
KRV's
Knife Review Videos.
Got it.
A utilitarian EDC knife without the ability to move the pocket clip. Slight oversight, maybe?
And... the structure of the pocket clip on my Elementum failed in the first week. BladeHQ told me to remove it and bend it back. That didn’t work very long. Its my only knife that had a pocket clip die... to much material milled out of the middle.
Is that a Trumpeter su-27 you got there on the table?
This quickly turned into a "Let's just bust out a bunch of knives and talk about them" video. True Nutnfancy style.
With today's climate I would carry something bigger
Carry a gun for defense. Carry a folding knife for cutting stuff.
Or like Joe Biden said when he fought some bad boys back in his days.
Carry a piece of steel chain to whip on people.
It's a tool not a weapon ..and I bet you have all sorts of knife fighting training..what a nerd!
@@dbpm876 keep working on your busted lawnmower. Lol
@@jackrock1313 lol..ok nerd
i started youtube reviews rebutting one of your 300 blackout videos HAHA! still a fan and still think 300bo offers a lot that other calibers dont.
Is it remind you a little of skyline?
WHAT! No Skyline? Or is that passe now....
What happened to my earlier comment about the knife's Chinese manufacturer presented serious ethical problems?
Way to support free speech, Nut'n! :-/
Had the trapper. Clip sucks balls. Flipper part is strangely sharp on your finger. Great form factor though!
I sold my Gent for a profit because it would cut my fingertips while closed in my pocket. Blade is too close to the back of the knife handle.
Tip UP is always better than tip DOWN.
Been 11 years and he still looks awkard using a Flipper tab..
Yes, if you know nutnfancy, "Nutn" is stopping him from taking his time on reviews, and WE LOVE IT!
I have two sog flash 1 knives from your review, should carry them again after wearing bigger blades
Getting skyline vibes from it. Is it just me?
Tnp'r since 09
