Its amazing because I did not know this I had to go back to the dealer and they charged me $600 to change the battery. Thank you, you just saved me a fortune
Thanks for the video. I noticed the little notch on the fob and thought it would be obvious - but it's always good to see it in a video first, rather than start chewing up the plastic unnecessarily.
I had to change the battery. There was no instructions on the manual. The shop near me is closed due to stage 4 restrictions. I could do it myself after watching your video. Thanks a ton !!!
Thanks, it really helped me... My car was complaining the with Key symbol, I thought its something else. I didn't realize that its batter issue. can you make another video how to run the engine without smart Key. I mean how to run with manual key on Mitsubishi ?
Fantastic, thank you so much. I was able to help a friend of mine. Useful Tip on the key removal 🔑. CR2032 batteries cost just £1 or less if you buy a triple pack!
I changed the battery in my fob after i was gettin the (Low Battery) warning on the dash, but after i changed the battery im still getting the low battery on the dash every time i start the car......can this be remided ?
I have done this and it still says the key battery is not detected. The battery is new, has been checked and it's fine but the car wont start. Can lock and unlock doors. Is there some reprogramming I have to do? Car is sitting out in the street where it stopped 2 days ago. Maybe there is something in the manual? Which is in the car, and it's a long walk to the car, hope you might know. Cheers.
Hi, was it telling you 'key battery low' before it stopped working? Have you tried to do the emergency start (by holding the key close to the emergency point) Not sure where it is on your car but it should be in the manual
@@TheCarKeyMan Cheers, I found a way to get it going again. Had to remove the locking barrel on the side of the steering wheel ~ where'd you'd normally insert a key on a regular car ~ then take the key from the battery remote device and insert it there and turn ~ had to wiggle the steering wheel cos it was locked ~ then take the key out again and put it back into the battery remote locking key thingy (technical term lol) put the lock barrel back on and hey presto, it started. Sharing for anyone else who has that issue. Cheers.
Have you got some dry rice? Take the key apart, put the key into a tupperware container and leave it for a while. Hopefully the rice will absorb the moisture
I did, still nothing. its a bit functional, whenever I press the unlock & trunk button the red light flashes. i should mention the key lock also broke when I tried to pull it out so its not responding even more

Is this the same for the eclipse cross?
Hi. if the key looks the same, then it should be the same method to change the key battery :)
@@TheCarKeyMan thanks
I have the same key, I need to ask if it could be recharged from the car,, where there is a place to put inside,,, like bmw cars?
I have just bought a 2018 ASX. The spare fob will not work despite a new battery. Do I have to buy a complete new unit which is £300!!!
