Budokan - full version is a very-honorable mention. 1. Dream Police, 2. One on One, 3. All Shook Up, 4. In Color, 5. Heaven Tonight. The last two would be higher except the tracks are better on Budokan.
One of my top 5 bands for sure, sometimes even my favourite band. 1st heard them when I Want You To Want Me (Live) was chosen as record of the week on Radio 1 in the UK. Immediately went out & bought it and then a bit later got At Budokan. Favourite song is I’ll Be With You Tonight. 1st saw them live in 1980 at Hammersmith & pretty much seen them every time they play over here. Often more than once. I even collapsed at one of their gigs a few years ago & refused to go in the ambulance until I’d heard the encore (I was ok, thanks for asking). Top 6 albums (I have a joint no.5) today are: 5. Busted / Heaven Tonight 4. The Latest 3. One on One 2. In Color 1. Dream Police Great, fun show btw. Some real surprises which was good to hear.
Not counting Live at Budakon, here is my top 5 (best to worst): 1) Dream Police 2) Heaven Tonight 3) In Color 4) All Shook Up 5) Cheap Trick (1st album)
Cheap Trick is my favorite band of all time, and i find all of their albums to be great in their own right. I would understand any of them being in people's top 5 (except for Busted). My personal top 5 (and this is very difficult for me to rank) would be: 1. Cheap Trick (77) 2. All Shook Up 3. Dream Police 4. Cheap Trick (97) 5. Special One
"My number one is The Doctor".... ha ha ha ha.... My god, I, inadvertently, slammed on my brakes lol. Literally! So, after witnessing Martin place The Police's Synchronicity record in the #5 slot, I headed into this episode with a terrible amount of trepidation ;) In the end, I felt you guys did a damned fine job. Much more fair and broad-minded to the entire catalog than I anticipated. As opposed other rankings, like the Sea of Tranquility video (which is, for the most part, just a love-fest for the debut record), you guys gave a fair shake to much of the more recent CT records. Which, for me, shockingly, are the ones I tend to pull off the shelf and actually listen to. So, running with that idea. Listing the CT records that I will take the time to put on the record player. Here are my favorites: The Latest, We're All Alright, Bang Zoom, and In Another World. I am having a hard time, choosing between Rockford and 1997... honorable mentions would be Next Position Please, Woke Up With a Monster and, maybe, Heaven Tonight. Lastly, there seems to be a lot of love floating around, for "I Can't Take it."... Now, I agree. Good tune, for sure, but I think we need to give a tip of the hat to ole Pete Comita. Who insists that Robin concocted the tune from two different demo songs Pete had passed along to him, via cassette. Either way, nice job, and thank you for paying homage to such a fantastic band. Long live Cheap Trick!
Woke up with the monster is my favorite. Very underrated album. The title track is kinda grungy as somebody commented in this episode. But it is very hooky. There are a few fillers but overall that album is great but was born under a bad timing of grunge era. I also like Mighty Wings from the sound track of Top Gun. Wished they played it live. The movie was a big hit but this tune was constantly unnoticed.
Cheap Trick is a real mixed bag for me. I could never really place them into any specific music category as they played all sorts of stuff (like the Melvins) so it was hard to really focus on what they play. I find their 70s stuff to have some good things but all the records are hit and miss. After that I really didn't care for anything they put out in the 80s and stopped there. The guitarist also.... kind of annoyed me with his weird suits and stupid 5 neck guitar. It's like he was trying too hard to be "weird" and it just came off as lame.
I saw them live for the first time October 29th, 1979. A night I will never forget.
Criminally underated band

Thankyou guys
Thanks for watching. Sean will be back on for the next show. Welcome to the channel. Cheers
@@GuitarHack66 Excellent thanks
Popoff has said NPP is his fav'. I am like that with KISS albums.
It may be sad but I’ve only heard two songs by cheap trick but I like both of them. Cool video!

A pity they didn't come to The Netherlands!
