May I ask how it behaves if fed with non-native resolutions, such as 1280x720@240Hz? Does it work, and if so, is it possible to disable scaling of the image so there will be black borders around the image instead?
Thanks, not sure, you're best asking AOC about this, but if you're on PC you shouldn't have an issue with scaling it to a lower resolution. Although, not sure why you'd do this?

The reason I am asking is pretty specific; I want to avoid any latency adding operations (including scaling) while working on a project. I will use a card where I will not be able to transfer 240fps at 1080p so I will have to pick a lower resolution.

@Qelyn Mainly cuz of stretched resolution, competitive games aren't much demanding, so unless you have potato pc you won't notice.

I come from a AOC 27B1H monitor with terrible image quality and colors and was looking to buy this new AOC C27G2ZU purely for light gaming (not competitive at the moment). PUBG COD etc. At that price range (299€), can you recommend a better 144Hz monitor? Either 1080p or 1440p if the price is right. I want it to have bright colors. Hey, so I have been looking for a 27 inch curved monitor under 400 euros for gaming. Is this a good option? I saw the review so im guessing not so what would you recommend instead? I dont really need super high fluidity since i dont play competitive shooters in general, but id like sth that doesnt consume too much resources but its fluid, and of good quality. So, any recomendation?

That's a good budget pick, but for that budget you had I'd have leaned towards maybe the Samsung or another monitor. But glad you went for it!
How do you enable the MBR setting? It's permanently greyed out for me, and while I saw online that turning Freesync off makes it adjustable, but this did not work for me.
Have you disabled FreeSync on the monitor's OSD though? That should show up the option, also I can't remember, but you might also need to be set to 120hz
Great video! how bout the AOPEN monitors? the 27HC5r 27' monitor? have you reviewed that? it says 240 hz all over the amazon website and everywhere else. but when i search the reviews on utube it says 165 hz. i'm trying to get a 240 for the same price you got urs and the AOPEN one is the one i see that's for 300 at 240 hz.

So, the C27G2ZU is compatible with Gsync without any problem, but can you tell me if the C27G2ZE have any difference? They look both identicals in all of their specifications.

Well that's like setting it to strong and with MBR set to max.

Hello, i watched your video and right now im playing on Samsung 65" Q65Q80T TV but i would like to buy 32" 240hz monitor only for CSGO, valorant and fortnite, do you think this monitor in 32" size will be more responsive and have better input lag and less motion blur/ghosting than Q80T in those 3 games ? im playing those games 4:3 streched on that TV while sitting probably 60 cm away from it so pixel density is no problem for me on full hd 32 :D 27" monitors are way too small for me so i need atleast 32". Can't comment about your TV, but it's likely that a modern monitor will outperform it in terms of response time and input lag.

How tall is the monitor + stand at the lowest setting? I have a weird desk, can only fit monitor with max height of 45 cm there, would rather switch to 27" than stay with 24".

I want to use a monitor for gaming both CS:GO with a gaming laptop with GTX 1660Ti (casually tho) but also combine with PS4 gaming like RDR 2 and other casual single player games. How is this monitor considering downscaling from 240 to 60Hz as well as the dark lvl smearing many VA panels have in this price range? Always game at night or in dark room so this is no issue for me. Hoping for an answer as i am having real trouble finding a perfect mix considering the boxes i wish ticket - Continue the great vids!
I'd suggest looking at a 144hz IPS instead - such as the AOC 24G2U.

@@PnPproDuck I personally don't have a problem with it, but it does have lower ppi than a 24". So really depends on you!

nope! It's in reference to the blur induced by the overdrive setting

It means you can't move it, but you can take it off for a Vesa mount!

Hi! So I have a question. I've watched the whole video and by your statement this monitor has made me have a great opinion on it. Since my birthday is near Christmas, my parents have let me get a 240hz monitor. However, I have a 300ish€ budget. Would you recommend this monitor with my conditions or should I go to other options? I will mainly use it for competitive gaming like fortnite, rocket league and csgo and also some editing. Thanks!
As per my video, I don't really understand why someone would opt for this 240Hz. Yes it's cheap vs the competitors, but as someone who plays/played top-tier CS MM, I'd get a 1440p 144Hz instead, or even save yourself a lot more money and just get something like the AOC 24G2U a 144hz 1080p IPS.
For 300 Euros, you can probably get the Acer Nitro VG270UP / VG271UP (144hz, IPS, 1440p) especially on a deal.

@@TotallydubbedHD ok. So one last thing. While checking the Acer Nitro I came across this MSI Optix MAG251RX, a 240hz monitor with a 1ms response time, IPS panel and G-SYNC compatible. I wanted to know if you heard about this monitor, if so if you made a review on it and if you would recommend it to me. In Spain is currently around the 300€ budget and based on some reviews I heard I think it might be worth it, but I’m still interested in knowing your opinion. BTW I subbed to you, I think you’re a really great tech guy!
@@ohganon not heard or tried it, so can't comment - but I suspect it'll be similar in terms of performance to this AOC 240Hz; I do have a fast-pace Acer monitor in the pipeline, not tried it yet though.

Mate, how do you calibrate monitor, if you don't have calibrator or any kind of calibrating hardware? Any help appreciated. I'm using sRGB for now, and I'm playing FPS games.
You can try finding an ICC profile (you'll need to Google for it) but I don't have a calibration of the monitor, rather, test out of the box performance.

LG have been extremely hard to get to, and even though I've requested the models, I think it's safe to say it'll be a while (if ever) that I get anything from them.
As for the Asus, I did request that actually, but got the 280hz IPS instead...review coming very very soon ;)
How did you adjust the height of the monitor? I can only adjust the angle but not the height and it's a bit too high for my setup

Your model probably doesn't have built in speakers - thus can only be outputted via the 3.5mm jack.

I prefer flat, and to be honest, for serious gaming it's probably better to have a flat panel. Presume you watched my video, thus know about the performance of this panel too?

i think im getting ZE but i have a stand on top so can i put the ZE stand down? I also dont know how to change the colors or anything on the monitor so if you could please tell me what everything does when setting up the monitor or changing input lag for example
You'll need to look into it, but from memory, you don't have any adjustments.

I bought this monitor yesterday and when I enabled g-sync i noticed some brightness flickering mostly while gaming (and fps are dropping). Once I close the g-sync (compatible) it is much better. It is a monitor issue or I have a weak gpu (GTX 1650)?

Around 5:05 minute you said that you were using the monitor with nvidia card without a issue… but it only says Freesync premium it means its only amd?? And also i cant find this monitor on nvidia compatible monitors site..
That's right, you can run most FreeSync monitors with G-Sync, as long as it's on DP and on a 10 series card or above.

Is it possible to have both low input delay mode and mbr activated? If so how do you do it, if i turn off free sync, low input delay mode is locked off
Can't remember, you'll need to check through the video. But usually, low input lag mode should work with MBR - might be showing as locked, in other words on permanently

AOC C24G2U =/= the IPS version, but would actually suggest the IPS model: AOC 24G2U (no C)

@@morgan200three that's very odd haha; how have you done that?! You can disable audio of the monitor by disabling the sound output in your Windows menu (ie disable Nvidia audio output)

Well is a cheap monitor with basic things make right Color calibration is really good but Freesync dot work flawless as it should "premium" Va panel has minor brightness flickering with freesync/Gsync enabled
does the eco mode "game" change anything than lightning?
The game modes won't change anything other than the colour tones of the monitor

Hey there! So, I got this thing on my mind and I can`t get into a final conclusion. I recently bought a C27G2ZE (known in Brazil as AOC Legend 27", the ZE it's the cheaper version of the C27G2ZU) and, of course, only did it because I saw your review after I noticed the same problem, the strange "motion blur" that don't let me connect some shots (on CSGO, my main game) that were 'working' on my old 60hz monitor (this 'motion blur' is this kinda bad guys, seriously). I turned the MBR setting on (played with it on off [0] by the 2 first days, than setted to 12, the maximium I can get and see alright), it get a lot better, but idk if it's enough, never had a 144 or higher hertz monitor before, so i'm really lost if i'm having at least a 'ok' experience. I'm thinking on returning it and get the AOC 24G2Z (also know as AOC HERO Z here in Brazil, didn't found the ZE or the ZU on the 24G2 version) with IPS and 240hz aswell, or the Asus VG279Q1R, with 27", IPS and 144 hz instead, or even the 27G2, with 27", 144hz and it's IPS, not VA as my actual one. Well, it still, by far, a better overall experience than the 60 hz, but this thought of not experiencing a true and complete 144+ hz experience is killing me! What would u suggest? Return it and get one of the other options (saddly they don't have everything that the C27G2ZE offers [27", curved and 240hz], and to get everything in other monitor, it will be beyond my budget, or the MBR on 12 it's enought and I'm having a true experience, but just freeking out a lil bit with this issue? Know it's probably a bit too long to make that question here, but worth a try!
This is a really long and not a really clear question - sorry. But, in short, check the description for my suggestions; and I saw you commented on my Best Gaming Monitor roundup - that should give you everything you need in terms of suggestions too; ultimately I wouldn't recommend this monitor and I'm not too sure why you bought it after my review lol.
