Hi, do you find that using gaming monitors in anything other than sRGB mode causes some kind of latency/input lag (processing or such latency, cos Windows native is sRGB?). I have this monitor and I haven't got the equipment to test it to provide a definitive answer, but it definitely feels like it does cause latency if I use it in any other mode apart from sRGB. Maybe you could test this - for this monitor and for others, might be interesting?
@@TotallydubbedHD I certainly get much better scores playing with sRGB mode on so I don't think it's placebo. Perhaps my eyes prefer the sRGB colour space? Or I have a faulty monitor? I've already had to send one back for RMA (started having funny lines across the screen)....
Wanted to give an update after having this monitor for almost a year. Few weeks ago I noticed when turning the PC on, the AOC white colored logo on startup would reflect horizontal white lines upwards on the black background. Didn't give it much attention because right after on Windows, the monitor worked fine. But few days ago I had to go to the BIOS and I noticed massive flickering with horizontal lines across the screen, could barely read the text in there. Went to Windows and tried lower refresh rates and that's when I found out that if I decide to use lower refresh rates below 240hz, there will be massive horizontal lines/scanlines across the screen. Definitely won't buy anything from AOC ever again, it could just be bad luck that this happened to me, but won't try anything from them again. Other than that, I like the monitor, will continue using it until it breaks or I buy a new one. TLDR: Horizontal lines/scanlines started appearing on the screen when using refresh rates below 240hz, after almost a year of being bought.
@@TotallydubbedHD Yeah you're right, unfortunately I threw the box away thinking I wouldn't need it anymore so with that goes the warranty. It's all good though, I'll be more careful next time. I also researched and feel like this is not so uncommon to happen with high refresh rate monitors, so I'll give AOC another shot in the future if they come up with something better and if it happens again I hope it 'breaks' before the 2 year warranty expires.

Just ordered this one after going back and forth between many 240hz 1080p options. I’m curious, having watched your review of the recent AOC 25G3ZM, which of these two you would prefer for competitive CSGO? I ultimately didn’t wanna gamble on a VA panel and went with the IPS for that reason. But since you’ve given glowing reviews to both of these monitors for being affordable and great I’m just curious which of the two you would give the edge for CSGO specifically
Honestly, I really love the VA. They're both excellent, but given my recent tests and comparing results with this one (going based on subjective opinions shared in the video), I'd lean towards the VA. Which honestly, never thought I'd say!

Bought this monitor cause of this video the responsiveness was impressive and colors were also ok for my gaming experience but I noticed one stuck green pixel after just 3 days of usage. I decided to check, if it's covered under warranty and they told i need 1 more stuck pixel to get covered under warranty which really sucks. Luckily in EU there's 14 day return policy and hopefully can get money back or at the very least new display. So far the AOC pixel defect warranty policy has left really bad taste in mouth and don't want to buy any new displays from them.

Yeah dude, the is the big problem with aoc monitor. Always get dead pixel after months of use. Btw, not just aoc u can't claim for 1 dead pixel, other brand will do same way. In my country u need 5 dead pixel to claim that's suck

As a pro gamer, what's your opinion on 240Hz vs 144Hz? Will it make much difference in valorant? Also, how does it affect movies etc, my guess is that going higher isn't going to make much difference for movies etc and only really affects gaming at elite level
I'd suggest watching my video on 240hz vs 144hz; the main thing however to consider, is that when that video was filmed, there weren't many low input lag, good response time 240hz monitors - now that's changed. Ultimately, more frames - more fluid - will you notice the difference as a hardcore gamer, yes. But would I personally pick it, if I could get a 1440p 144hz vs 240hz 1080p, for the same price? No.

I imagine that this is the same spec as the monitor you have just reviewed, with a slightly larger display. Would this be a monitor you recommend, or are you familiar with it yourself? Yo man, thanks for saving me here, choosing a monitor is so much harder than choosing a pc. I have the GTX 3080 and I wanted to go 4k 120hz but I don't have £2k to fork out for that, so I wanted to get the best curve 1440p with the highest refresh in 32", IPS. I considered the Samsung Q7 but heard to many negative inconsistencies, I've been at this for a couple of days non stop. Budget up to £1000 but would like to aim around £650-£800, any off the top suggestions to look into more? Appreciate all your videos

Unlike others, I watch your videos from start to end. But I still have to question one thing because maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned with this topic. How come IPS panels beat TN and VA ones in terms of latency/input lag...?? Its what I focus on the most. There's no point on buying a tn one today then?
Thanks buddy! Well technically TN is still the fastest when it comes to response time. Followed by IPS, then VA - though there are some exceptions. However, given the near-identical if not better input lag on IPS Vs TN, then factor in the refresh rate, pricing, contrast ratio, colour accuracy...TNs are old tech that is now getting phased out. @@TotallydubbedHD Ah okey. I'm choosing between this, the 390Hz acer monitor or a 240Hz TN panel. I'm on a 144Hz TN panel right now with no ghosting/smearing from what I can tell. I'm trying to get to top 100 in quake champions duels. Do you think this will be a "good enough" upgrade? Or would the 390Hz acer be a better option? Or a Zowie 240Hz? Or are all of them about equally good? This one is one sale where I live right now. About 270 USD.

Hi. Do this IPS monitors cause image retention/burn in ? The panel its IPS but the backlight is LED right? For example when we are watching movies the black bars dont cause those issues? There are no issues with burn in to worry about with any of the modern LED LCD monitors (be it TN, VA or IPS) - at least not as far as I'm aware. Indeed, TVs were known for it, namely plasma and OLED

I saw on the rtings site the difference between the 24g2 (which i think it's the same with this monitor?) and the benq xl2540k where it was only shown without the k. The aoc has 8.1 ms response time at strong overdrive and the benq has 8.3 ms. Does this response time give me more competitive advantage on seeing my enemy first or is it another factor that gives me gaming advantages? Thank you
hey there! im planning on getting a 240hz monitor from aoc but i have a little question regarding this model: you are reviewing the aoc 24g2zu model, but its 300€ and i wanna get its „little brother“ the 24g2ze which is significantly cheaper (about 50-70€). so how i understand it, the only difference between these two is that the „u“ model has a usb hub inside and the „e“ model doesnt, but they dont differ regarding the ips panel/refresh rate etc. is that correct? thanks in advance!!

@@TotallydubbedHD Yeah, i also looked into it more. Basically the only disadvantge is not having variable overdrive, which isn't that important from what i can tell.

@@TotallydubbedHD was wondering the same, i have this aoc monitor and ive returned one already because the ips glow bugs me, i game in complete darkness most of the time and in tarkov night raids it feels like a lamp is being reflected over the entire hand of my character. I am kind of interested in the features of the zowie 2546k and not having ips glow, but a bit worried of viewing angles, i always sit straight on in the middle or slighty below middle but heard it can be seen anyway. So why do you say you wouldnt get the xl2546k? Is it only because of the price? Sorry for the wall of text.

@@TotallydubbedHD Such a high shrill note on the verge of being heard. Someone with less sensitive hearing may not even hear it. But it's noticeable to me, especially when going from quiet to the point where it starts doing it.
@@TheGulomet I'm very sensitive too, does it change pitch when you're adjusting the brightness? I've noticed it twice on other AOC monitors, but can't recall having any issues with this one

@@zvelekva there's certainly no difference in the different colour modes. Funnily enough, while gaming, I was using it outside its sRGB mode

If you have dead pixels press lightly on the pixel itself, it will cause more dead pixels around it. I tested it and happened by accident lol
let me say to you that policy of stuck or dead pixels is in all the manufacturers.

Yo man, thanks for saving me here, choosing a monitor is so much harder than choosing a pc. I have the GTX 3080 and I wanted to go 4k 120hz but I don't have £2k to fork out for that, so I wanted to get the best curve 1440p with the highest refresh in 32", IPS. I considered the Samsung Q7 but heard to many negative inconsistencies, I've been at this for a couple of days non stop. Budget up to £1000 but would like to aim around £650-£800, any off the top suggestions to look into more?

Well technically TN is still the fastest when it comes to response time. Followed by IPS, then VA - though there are some exceptions.
However, given the near-identical if not better input lag on IPS Vs TN, then factor in the refresh rate, pricing, contrast ratio, colour accuracy...TNs are old tech that is now getting phased out.

Hi. Do this IPS monitors cause image retention/burn in ? The panel its IPS but the backlight is LED right? For example when we are watching movies the black bars dont cause those issues?

There are no issues with burn in to worry about with any of the modern LED LCD monitors (be it TN, VA or IPS) - at least not as far as I'm aware.

I saw on the rtings site the difference between the 24g2 (which i think it's the same with this monitor?) and the benq xl2540k where it was only shown without the k. The aoc has 8.1 ms response time at strong overdrive and the benq has 8.3 ms. Does this response time give me more competitive advantage on seeing my enemy first or is it another factor that gives me gaming advantages? Thank you

hey there! im planning on getting a 240hz monitor from aoc but i have a little question regarding this model: you are reviewing the aoc 24g2zu model, but its 300€ and i wanna get its „little brother“ the 24g2ze which is significantly cheaper (about 50-70€). so how i understand it, the only difference between these two is that the „u“ model has a usb hub inside and the „e“ model doesnt, but they dont differ regarding the ips panel/refresh rate etc. is that correct? thanks in advance!!
That's correct, also the ZE has a fixed stand and isn't adjustable. Other than that, they're identical

@@TotallydubbedHD was wondering the same, i have this aoc monitor and ive returned one already because the ips glow bugs me, i game in complete darkness most of the time and in tarkov night raids it feels like a lamp is being reflected over the entire hand of my character.
I am kind of interested in the features of the zowie 2546k and not having ips glow, but a bit worried of viewing angles, i always sit straight on in the middle or slighty below middle but heard it can be seen anyway.
So why do you say you wouldnt get the xl2546k? Is it only because of the price?

The monitor whistles quietly at a frequency of 240 Hz. I don't know if it's normal or if it's a complaint.
As in audible? From the panel? That shouldn't be the case, not from my experience at least
@@TotallydubbedHD Such a high shrill note on the verge of being heard. Someone with less sensitive hearing may not even hear it. But it's noticeable to me, especially when going from quiet to the point where it starts doing it.
@@TheGulomet I'm very sensitive too, does it change pitch when you're adjusting the brightness? I've noticed it twice on other AOC monitors, but can't recall having any issues with this one
