- Thomas Robert "Tom" Laughlin (August 10, 1931 -- December 12, 2013) was an American actor, director, screenwriter, author, educator and political activist.
Laughlin was best-known for his series of Billy Jack films. He was married to actress Delores Taylor from 1954 until his death. Taylor also co-produced and acted in all four of the Billy Jack films. His unique promotion of The Trial of Billy Jack (TV trailers during national news and an "opening day" nationwide release) was a major influence on the way films are marketed.[1]
In the early 1960s, Laughlin put his film career on hiatus to start a Montessori preschool in Santa Monica, California; it became the largest school of its kind in the United States. In his later years, he sought the office of President of the United States in 1992, 2004, and 2008. He also was involved in psychology and domestic abuse counseling, writing several books on Jungian psychology and developing theories on the causes of cancer.
You can see the love they have for each other in their eyes. They will be missed.
Oh, this is so incredibly sweet. I remember thinking, when I was a kid, Billy Jack was just the coolest thing I had ever seen. RIP Tom Laughlin. I hope his sweet wife is doing well.
They truly are a great couple, always together here on earth and in eternal life...
The first time I watched Billy Jack I was still in grade school back in 70's I love that famous kick to the right ear scene.I use to practice that kick every day until I so good at it That I actually use it on some kid on the playground making fun of me. I never saw that kid again. Hey man If you're still around I am sorry. I was up all night couldn't sleep because I thought the next day I thought the kids parents coming knocking at the door. My old man would have belted me good. Never told this story till know.
Quality of you to show regrets.
The very first time that i watched Billy Jack movie, i was just a kids i instantly fell in love with Billy Jack
Me too !!!! I practiced that kick until I finally mastered it! I love BILLY JACK TO THIS DAY ! I MISS YOU @R.I.P.

@@cabbie946 I was about 11 when I first saw it. From then on, me and my mates were always kicking at one another and calling ourselves Billy Jack. Can't believe I made it to 60.

Rest in peace, Tom Laughlin and Delores Taylor. We will never forget you, and we most certainly will never forget the movie, "Billy Jack."
Soul mates if I ever saw one.
Two beautiful inspirational people
You both will always have my love and respect
It's so nice that they were married for so long. I loved his movies growing up, and can remember going to the drive in and watching them with my parents. Thanks for posting this interview.
Their movies brought so many messages to the world. Too bad the return of billy jack was never released.
Filmed alot in Prescott, Az, my stomping grounds & still love to walk the town sq. to this day, Brings back good memories of the movie. Rest in peace
Dolores Taylor--80 year old fox. My god, what a doll. 40, 80, so what, just a real woman.
GET YOUR BRAIN TESTED. NICE YES , FOX ??? NEVER. NOT EVEN IN HER 30'S
I agree. Dolores is a fox. I can’t believe she’s 80 in this interview. Aged so well.
Rest in PEACE BILLY JACK. LOVE TO EVERYONE OOOOOOOOOOOOOXXX
Take a good look, that is what a good man and a fine woman look like! God bless Tom and Dolores!
I love Billy Jack.
Interesting about the martial arts. I would've thought the Manchurian Candidate (1962) would count as an earlier film that shows martial arts in a fight scene. There must be a distinction I missed while watching this.
Awesome people I love them
In Billy Jack, when he explodes the Apple with his kick. Such a soft spoken master.
This is where I first discovered about the art of Hapkido when I watched the two Billy Jack Films. It was fascinating since watching Chuck Norris films.
Happy Birthday
Lovely couple. RIP. Movies are no longer made this way. Shame.
We need more billy Jack's now days
Actually, things have swung so much the other way, we need more Posners.
My brother was the one who call all the vet for Dakota pipeline
My name is Felix running wolf
I've heard the art of Aikido, but I like that Billy Jack has his own original fighting style.
Still holding hands...everything else doesn't matter nearly as much.
RIP #tomlaughlin 👊🏼🤠👊🏼#billyjack
What a beautiful couple!
🙏
classic :-)
Tom and Delores were phenomenal, but, NO, Tom was NOT the first person to "bring martial arts to a film."
Absolutely, Bruce Lee had already been doing martial arts movies long before Billy Jack came along.
The first in film in HOLLYWOOD certainly not the first ever
Tom could kind of act. Delores... Not so much!
What a joke. Laughlin was not the first to bring martial arts to film. What a lie.
Yes he was. punk
He was only trained for a few moves, he did none of the kicks.
Delores has not aged well
These two were young adults in the '50's.
jimmy page Neither have you.
She was only in her 80's in this video. If you manage to live so long, you probably won't look as good. Give her a break!
