I come back sometimes to watch these just cause … Like watching a show u seen many times before but still enjoy Got my shared system 7 or 8 year ago That thing never gets old
hey holmes i really appreciate your videos! you help me again appreciate modules i stopped loving for one reason or another hahaha. -jonsimon aka DISXIPLE113.
You'll need a modulator source for the moddemix as well (VCO, some other audio, whatever), but yes, absolutely can use that instead of Dalek in my example.
Absolutely! Modular signal levels are considerably louder than guitar, so you'll want a companion module that is designed to boost the guitar up, and then attenuate the output of the modular system back down - there's a few out there that do this. This one looks particularly cool: www.rmlfx.com/?p=1479
Possibly the FX Loop if your amp has one, but even those are still usually 'guitar level' - line level at best, and eurorack modular operates at much higher signal levels. You can always try it, but I bet you'll end up wanting/needing the other module to adjust the signal levels up and back down. Note: absolutely do NOT take the speaker output jack of your amp (the output you normally connect to your cabinet) and patch it into a modular.
Yeah, __never__ plug the speaker out from your amp into anything except speakers. That is a low impedance high-current signal and could damage whatever you're plugging it into (and potentially the amp as it's expecting a low impedance load - the speaker).
Possibly. Walker and the MakeNoise team have been putting out fantastic videos of their modules the last couple years so I haven't felt the need to cover those, and I have a lot of ideas in the pipe. BUT, I'll definitely consider including it as part of some future videos. Thanks!
jamescigler The MN videos are indeed fantastic, but, the depth and details on your videos are in another league for learning and understanding the modules you cover. Your DPO/MATHS/ECHOPHON videos for someone wanting to get the details are just amazing.
7 1/2 yrs later, still useful and great video. Well done, man.

Rewatched this again today. Good to refresh the basic understanding of modules from time to time. As always, great video..
That was some unexpectedly pleasant melodic improvisation!
3:26 convinced me, damn, I'm getting one of these! Great demo, thanks!
Absolutely awesome demo.
Just got one, looking forward to trying this out -- thanks!
Another stellar tutorial James, thanks!
great demo ! need to get that module now...
Definitely made the case for my getting this to go with the Mimeophon- thanks! (I think…)
Best demo for this.

best. comment. ever.
haha but its TRUE!!!
Awesome demo. Thanks!
Could a moddemix be used as rm in the feedback path like you use the dalek?

jamescigler cool, thanks!
On the fence on this or the mimephon or both
Get the Mimeophone
Great demo. Question: you don't get crackle when turning the depth knob?
does it work with a guitar as an external signal?
Absolutely! Modular signal levels are considerably louder than guitar, so you'll want a companion module that is designed to boost the guitar up, and then attenuate the output of the modular system back down - there's a few out there that do this. i could take the output of my guitars amplifier no?i think it worths it to use the echophon as an effect for the guitar.

lol that's what i had in mind...you say it wont work?

It can probably make rain too :)
Faaaaaaaiiiinaly someone reviewing a Make Noise module. Thanks!
Amazing
Just added to www.modularmusic.tv! Keep an eye out this week!

Thanks so much for all your videos, super interesting. Erbe-verb maybe?? ;)
