That was a quality relay/259 rant, Nick - enjoyed it. True at HF we can be brutal with that stuff; but at 2m?? Looks like the relay did alright though. I had envisioned an attenuator before the SA to cope with the amp output - just how much headroom do you have on that Siglent? (it's been a while since the HP behemoth was in this lab)
I wouldn't have built it like that, that's for sure. Spectrum analyzer says max input +30 dbm, but I've never trusted it over +20, could be an expensive mistake otherwise! In that experiment it was seeing -5 dbm approximately
