Man, people keep coming up with such interesting ways to make a type chart and not just copy/paste it from Pokémon. I think this one might deter some people because of how many buffs/debuffs/transmutations you have to remember, but I think it adds a nice complexity. I’m not a game developer or anything, but maybe a UI that describes the effect of your move on a targeted Cassette beast would help make the game more accessible. That way, you can keep the really interesting type chart without penalizing people who can’t remember all of the effects very well.
Great video! I imagine lightning will turn earth into glass, as lightning striking sand produces fulgurites which are a form of glass. I’m surprised fire doesn’t do the same, changing earth into glass or metal.
I can definitely see the work you have put in this video. The research, editing and looks of it look really good and neat. I can see for sure more promising videos in the future. Keep up the good work!!
I love this system. It seems so fun to manipulate. It kinda reminds me of the chemistry system in Zelda BOTW where you can manipulate the elements, such as fire, ice, electricity, metal, and plants to your advantage. For example if the enemy has metal armor electricity fucks them over. That system makes BOTW one of my favorite game of all time. I'm excited to use this system in Cassette Beasts! Also if Astral is supernatural I'm guessing Fire buffs it as fire is often used for demon summoning rituals, so maybe itll give an offensive or speed buff when it hits an astral type?
I can picture electric transmutating "ground" into glass (I know its actually sand that changes into glass but they might generalize what "ground" really is)
This seems like a pretty cool system. It's innovative anyways. Might be hard to balance everything though. Do you know if there is pvp planned? If it's just pve, the balance thing doesn't matter as much.
I see a lot of potential for double battles. You could run a support/attacker combo based on buffing and type coverage sinergies, and progressively use one of your monsters to buff the other with weak attacks. Definitely in my radar now.
Sounds like Astral is more akin to mind to the Cosmos, so maybe its weaknesses to poison is like getting a cold, you are not in your best condition to think, so maybe your attacks miss more
I think the astral is like the light type. It buffs itself and plants because of light. Also, fire also creates a light, so that's why astral get energy from that. But poison debuff astral is wierd... maybe poison represents the dark type, and poison gas cover the light? Or the astrals are only aliens and weak for poison like plants and animals are.
Ok I’ll admit I’m actually surprised by the types interactions I expected something similar to super effective and not very effective hits but the buff and debuff and transformation system is very interesting
If astral types is ET sort of type...maybe since its not from earth it not used to the common iillness of the earth make iit difficult to handdle it? Maybe? Idk just an idea
I think Poison beats astral as Poison seems to relate to pollution in the game? So like Pollution is killing our planet so it can destroy astral entities, maybe harming plants is for a similar reason? I have no idea though that's my best guess!
Lightning buff plastic: The static electricity. Have U seen picture about cat and styrofoamXD But I don't have clue which game mechanic will fit for that.
Ohhh true!! Maybe the buff will be that anyone that contacts the plastic type for x amount of turns gets a shock effect? Kinda like static from pokemon
I can picture glitter bomb, being the pocket sand of cassette beast.
A move that turns everyone involved gay
This is a really unique to the type chart mechanic. I'm so happy that more games are trying out new things with Typings and how they interact

Gosh pkmn sweet was bad at that

You know what after I made the video I was thinking the same thing lmfao :o
My guess is that lightning turns earth into glass (obsidian)
Yeah, I agree. Lighting can super heat sand, making glass.
Glad to see more people talking about Cassette Beasts. It actually looks unreal. Great video too
Thanks! I got more planned :D
Great video as always, im so Hyped for this one

Thanks! This one doesnt have a lot of gameplay so I had to improvise a lot with the editing:)

Oh that's a good idea! I said astral type seems weak in the vid but I'm thinking it's meant to be a support type or something
It's great to see just how many of these you got right. Some were absolutely spot on.
Oooo fancy new logo
Thanks! It was actually made by bisloba in the discord! Their fan art was way better than my actual avatar XD
Gym Leader Ed that’s awesome!
Metal beats earth, uh, tools are made of metal, like for agriculture, so maybe they make them receive extra damage from plants
This seems like a interesting twist on the usual type advantage in these games.
I can picture electric transmutating "ground" into glass (I know its actually sand that changes into glass but they might generalize what "ground" really is)
I agree :D
I would love to use this type of system for my action rpg
Is Good see more games of monster genre!
For sure! This game was definitely worth the 6 hours of editing lmfao

I'm not 1000 percent sure but I'll do some research maybe ask the devs see what they say :p

Since Astral seems to be related to Stars maybe the Fire type buffs by making them shine brighter or something?
Ice buff Steel: the tongue in iron pole situation. If opponent hit, it takes little damage( like the "rocky helmet" in pkm)
Correction: Damage _does_ increase or decrease with advantage or disadvantage, but it's not as substantial as Pokémon's damage multipliers.
Sounds like Astral is more akin to mind to the Cosmos, so maybe its weaknesses to poison is like getting a cold, you are not in your best condition to think, so maybe your attacks miss more
Earth buffs wind: would you rather walk against strong wind, or a sandstorm of the same wind strength? ;)

Actually, I think there is damage multiplayer, but it is very small, maybe something around 25% to 35%.
If astral types is ET sort of type...maybe since its not from earth it not used to the common iillness of the earth make iit difficult to handdle it? Maybe? Idk just an idea
How can this be posted 2 years ago since the game only came out last month???
Because I've been following all of the games news and updates since 2020

perhaps lighning and earth makes metal
Machines work better and are better maintained in cold temperatures.
Earth to Air is a sandstorm buff to Air.
have you tryd to trow a rock on plastik?
or plastik on a rock?
what do you mean have more effect? :D
XD
Is it using open doom?
Is this on steam?
No, it was just announced recently it's in very early development, but looks extremely promising!
