    The image quality is mind blowing and the ergonomic/usability design is sublime as is the build quality.
    I had a Q2 too and totally agree.
    I use mine with the leather Q2 holster, it fits fine even with battery grip, thumb grip and finger loop attached, this protects the screen very well and makes it very easy to carry around and quickly shoot.

    Great video. I was in the same boat a year ago thinking that my Q2 would be ok for an October trip to Italy. As time went on, I changed my mind and put in an order for a Q3 with a local camera store in Minnesota but it never came before it was time for the trip. • @whygamewhy
      @whygamewhy 2 месяца назад

      If you never had any other interchangeable lens camera, I wouldn’t recommend Q3 or Q2 for your first camera, but you like me had had a lot of lenses then I think the 28 mm is actually a bless. My best works taking the wordsfrom my friend, came from the Q3. And I only bring the Q3 I no longer find the trap of constantly deciding which lens or which zoom range to use,wasting all that time. I will know that I should just use what I have and focus all my attention until what you shoot and how to compose.

Everyone talking about Leica Q3 mentions this cropping feature, however, no one talks about perspective. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on q3. I’m just a photophile, with R5 and rf24-70/2.8 & 70-200/2.8 and also bought rf 24-105/4 for travel as the other two are so big to carry around with family. Even 24-105 is so big to carry around. So I was looking at q3 as an all rounder. I usually use 70-200 for my kids soccer games and little bit of wild life in the backyard or near by parks etc. 24-70 for all the rest of the stuff such as family photos or personal product photography etc. my question is did you try q3 for small scale sports photography (I’m not talking about professional level of sports photography), but at least kids sports etc. I even thinking about getting rid of 24-70 & 24-105 and buy q3, keep 70200 & r5 for kids sports. I followed the Q series for quite a few years, but unwilling to spend 6K for such limitations!
    If I was using such a camera for street photography, I would prefer to have a 50 mm , that way I wouldn’t have to crop nearly as much to get the 90 mm focal length you’re talking about.
    Rarely do I photograph people at a wider angle.
    For me, the Q3 and the digital 90 mm you’re talking about, would be compromised heavily at 11 x 14 size.
    Right now I’m shooting with Fuji XT5. I have all the prime I need from 18 to 90 mm. The auto focus is great and the crop that I do from time to time is also good at 40 megapixels.
    It’s nice to be able to carry three or four lenses in my pockets for any occasion.

    • @randomcomentator
      @randomcomentator 8 месяцев назад

      photos of people shot at 90mm are boring, there is no intimacy. You need to get closer. 28mm is the perfect focal length cause it's good for landscapes and people with a bit of a crop at the same time

    • @Unknownresident621
      @Unknownresident621 8 месяцев назад

      I shoot only 28mm for street. It's harder but the images are 'fuller' and tell a much better story. SOme of the greatest street photographers shot at 28/35. 50mm doesn't capture the environment enough for me.

      A lot of the old masters use 50 mm, and I’ve got some of my best shots using that focal length!
      It’s all about the environment you’re in. If there’s a lot of people around you wider the better, if there’s fewer people I go to the 50 to 85 range.
      Everybody loves my photos, and they don’t ask me what focal length I took them in!

      @@simon359 Yes everyone is different. I had the original Q and it was the only camera I used for 5 years - it went everywhere with me and I became an extension of my eye. I don't see a fixed 28mm as a limitation - in fact it's so freeing that I did my best photography with the fixed lens (many people say the same thing). I have tried other cameras (including the Fuji Xt30 which was horrible and I returned it), but my best photos (and the ones that get the best feedback) were taken with the 28mm. The whole thing I like about Leica is the simplicity - all the 3 key settings are physical dials, no complex menus, no 1000 options etc. This simplicity makes the process of photography so much more enjoyable than every other camera I've used (Sony, Fuji, Nikon). I like simplicity and beautiful design - but that's not for everyone.

      Good points, but it seems Fuji is finally getting auto focus right on the XT5. For me, my eyes are very bad at age 67 and without auto focus I cannot get the street images I want. And I understand, hyper vocal length, but I want a specific type of separation that you cannot get from a Leica! Only true prime lenses can give me this. I use the auto ISO at a certain setting that gives me the separation. It took me a while to figure it out.
      The pictures I’m getting are absolutely outstanding and I wouldn’t change it for anything right now! 🖖😝

      clearly you missed the whole point of Leica - it's the experience of shooting that makes it a pleasure. A solid hand built in Germany product vs a plasticy off the line factory in Asia. Why do people invest in a Rolex or another nice watch? An Apple Watch / Casio will do a 1000 more things. I know which I'd prefer. Guess you'd like the Casio because 'it has an alarm'?

Leica is a Calvin Kline bag for women who live with status symbols. I'll keep my Sony camera and shoot to my hearts delight. I do give my Nikon a little exercise once in a while.
