I did this A/C compressor replacement earlier this year on my 2000 C5. I did not need to remove the tire to access the lower A/C compressor bolts. I found that leaning over the fender, into the engine compartment, I could reach down to access the 2 bottom compressor bolts and remove and reinstall them. I could not see the bolts, but I could easily do it all by touch and feel. I was also able to torque the bottom bolts from the engine compartment.

take the Thurmond housing off then jack the engine up about an inch on the pass side then work the compressor out the front. no need to remove all that stuff you did

What stuff . . . . . the exhaust manifold and spark plug wire? That was easy to do. And, I did not need to remove the spark plugs.

@@jcinmi8598 I’m saying like just in case it can damage the oil pan or something, it might be quicker but i feel like it’s more reliable this way
