    What do you like to use your EAD for, or what would you use it for if you got one?

    What equipment did you use to mount it as an overhead?

      I just sketchily attached to a cymbal stand that I had as high as it could go

    One solution to the 'issue' is mount the EAD in the normal place (on the hoop) and then use a slightly softer bass drum beater to bring down the level of the kick. Then you can still trigger if required (without using additional triggers), but the mix can be adjusted to suit you. I carry 4 different bass drum beaters with me to cover all kits (I'm often not using my own kit when using the EAD) and all stages (hollow stages have more low end) and rooms (brighter room make the snare and toms appear louder). Easy!

    First - damn good Kataklysm tattoo.
    Didn't know about EAD-10 can be mounted such different ways. The 2nd position is the most pretty sound.
    Which is the most natural sounding preset in EAD-10? I am going to go to a studio to make a recordings and kind of don't have much time for experimenting. What preset would you suggest for achieving live untriggered sound?

      I think you’re the first person to point that out on the channel. Nice! To be honest, I just find Arena is the best. It’s just a nice basic drum sound and you can control the reverb to taste

      @@BlackBridgeSound cool, I will try the Arena first.
      Early Kataklysm (till 2000, including Prophecy) is one of iconic bands for me. Sylvain Houde is a beast in everything - music, lyrics and vocals. Hope he appear and do some more.
      Also, respect for ice hockey :-) Nashville enforced with Stamkos and Marchessault, let's see what perform upcoming season. This playoff final was mind-blowing - Oilers' return from loosing 0-3 was very impressive. They were deserving to win, although the Panthers too :-)

      Fun fact, it’s a little later but if you look through the thanks section in the booklet for Prevail you’ll find Mike’s name in there!

    One also has the ability to cancel the trigger signal and use a pizio trigger for separate bass drum signal and reshape from that signal.

    The ride is to loud when u have the toms on one side. When mounted above the ride was good.. I have one tom on each side of the mics, i feel its better to cobtrol cymbals, and especially the ride.

      I’m an IPhone user so I can’t reply help you there. I have seen some people having trouble with Android and the Ead10 on the Ead10 Facebook group maybe if you checked that out someone would be able to help

    2:54 mounting the EAD10 mic as an Overhead isn’t the same of using overheads?

    • @BlackBridgeSound
      @BlackBridgeSound  Год назад

      It’s the same as using overheads yeah, only this is the ead10 not a pair of microphones being used as overheads. All the positions used in this video use audio only captured from the ead10 module, in 3 different positions.

    I prefer to mount mine on my head. The initial installation hurts tho.

  • @mrblackbasser
    @mrblackbasser Год назад

    So when it's not mounted on the kick drum, the trigger is not used, correct?

    • @BlackBridgeSound
      @BlackBridgeSound  Год назад +2

      Not too sure. I always have the trigger string turned off completely so there’s no trigger on any part of this video

    • @mrblackbasser
      @mrblackbasser Год назад

      @@BlackBridgeSound I've always used the trigger, mounted on the kick, but the stand mount looks like a cool alternative. I do live sound and lighting, and the EAD has really simplified my set up. I have two trigger/mic units, and split their inputs, so for larger, double kick kits, it really covers everything. But with the techniques you showed, I might have to experiment. Thanks for the vid!! 🤘🤘

    So you've lost the trigger capacity and you didn't realise you are not hitting your drums strong enough? Tell me i'm dreaming? Bass drum is too loud? No! Your arms are too weak! 😂
