Do you think we need 8k video? or.. should manufactures focus more on dynamic range instead of resolution?

thanks for hanging out with me 😊 vid turned out great!
Man! This guys constantly inspires me!
Thanks a lot! Really good review and footage!
That autumn scenery is freaking incredible!
Footage is cleannnn! Thanks for the overview
Those colors are damn exceptionally great... Your editing skills are another level.. kudos bro.. 🔥🔥🔥
Nice review plus that outro is 🔥
Love the color grading. Stabilization looks great too!
Thanks. I just used the fuji flog to rec709 lut and did some tweaks
I had the same bad results with rolling shutter, especially because I'm filming fast subjects (motorbikes). I am still keeping it tho, the standard 4K is more than enough and the extra detail in the 40mp sensor is a blessing. And to your question: I don't think we need 8K, the storage needed for only a few minutes in absolutely insane; increases the costs and slows down workflows. I would rather ask brands to focus on stabilisation, software and auto focus systems.
Yeah I think 4K is still tons of resolution. We just need 17-18stops of dynamic range like the new Arri cams :)
The XH2 isn’t meant to be used for Motorsport or fast moving subjects. The XH2S is built for that.
@@AsuquoTravelsProductions xh2 does well with that type of work if you set your af settings accordingly; the xh2s just does it better.
@@Eyeofkamau I agree. I have both and I know. People just like to pick out too much fault when it comes to Fujifilm but never care to mention that Canon and Sony have the worst Rolling Stutter in the camera industry.
@@AsuquoTravelsProductions Since you have both cameras, is the standard 4k on the x-h2 really worse than the 4k on the s, like some people say?
I did a codec test in my studio - (all 8k) ProResHQ vs h265 in 200, 100 an 50 (!) - only the 50 looked worse, everything else looked extremely similar, I would not notice. Of course, only studio guitar recording, not outside where you would prob need higher bitrates.
But the only codec my macstudio struggled with was ProResHQ!
Thx for quality content, keep it up.
Btw, do u mind telling how much do you make a month with youtube? Im thinking of starting a photography chanel myself
Haha. Yeah, Great video Lee. Super thx mate ✌🏻
Just wow
WOWzers…. This you apply any rolling shutter correction in post?
The rolling shutter is far less noticeable than I expected.
I shoot with the xh2, just have touched the 8k yet
Nice! I went to the store to hold it in my hand, and was kinda intimidated of the size for my taste. I’ll check out the X-T5 in the store once it’s in stock.
I just got the xt5 in for review. I can’t remember the grip size on the xt4 but I feel like the xt5 reminds me more of an xt3
@@LeeZavitz nice! I have been to check out the x-t5 in store twice. It feels incredible. Best form factor ever! I checked out the rolling shutter for both oversampled 6.2k to 4k, and non oversampled 4k though, and although the non oversampled mode is not so bad, it’s clear that the scan rate on the x-t4 is significantly faster and more video friendly. (The chunky X-H2s without classic dials is not what I want.)
Just testing Angel bird on H2 with various 8K codecs only ProRes HQ was impossible to keep stable writing more than 30seconds its seems that there is no card that could cope on that bitbarte.
What about high iso in night situations ? How good is it ? Thxs
Just when I was searching for x-h2 stuff for video. Most info is on photos. Now trying to decide which is best for video x-h2 or x-h2s.
Thanks.
The xh2s is probably still better for video if most of what you do is video. Otherwise the xh2 is pretty solid especially for that price
@@LeeZavitz you've been such great help. Thanks much.
I would like to know if the autofocus is better/faster in the XH2s? For video? For stills? I am now 50/50 stills and video and trying to decide between the two.
❤❤❤
I am a Sony guy, but think I would like to dip my toes in Fuji and your recent videos are not helping me resist! I think XH2 could work since I have sony for video mainly. Not sure about XT5 so awaiting your review!
For video go for xh2s.If primary concern is photography, go for xh2
2:41 good one 😆
Colour Looks Amazing, bro! Probably it's in the golden hour. How's the performance in the low light?
Slightly worse than the xh2s but if you shoot 8k the noise is a lot finer and almost looks just as good. I wouldn’t shoot past iso1600/3200 though
@@LeeZavitz Thanks
Hi zavitz, how did you screen record the xh2,really interested to know
I use a wireless hdmi transmitter (accsoon cineye) and it sends the feed to my phone and I record it on there
@@LeeZavitz Thanks for letting me know. But all I saw was a shotgun mic on top of your camera.I am confused. Is it necessary to plugin the accsoon cineeye to camera?
Which would you choose overall? Sony A7iv or Fuji XH2?
A7iv
Colors sick, but I felt like you had a pro mist just on ?
No. Just VND
Why do i have a feeling one day you gonna have a video in which at the end you ask her hand? :))
this or the X-H2S for video?
So I've seen both of your videos this one and the S model Fuji. What's the big difference? Is one better suited for video over the other?
Xh2s is better for video. More features. Stack sensor (less rolling shutter) open gate. And also 4K 120p
@@LeeZavitz Thank you, Lee! Always appreciated!
Would you take this or the A7Iv? I mostly shoot video, I dont care about 4K60/120 or 8K. Which do you like the most and why?
It’s better to look at what lenses you want to use. Most cameras will do a good job but finding good lenses for video might be harder
Depends on what system you are already in. Sony is still way better at autofocus in video have have better lenses for it. And obviously its full frame so better lowlight performance. Outside of that they are both good.
I’m taking the xh2 because at $500 less, better ibis (if needed), more custom modes, better build quality/feeling, top sub-screen, better codecs. The colors are better - therefore files are easier to edit and that’s if you edit. I’ve done a ton of video work that I didn’t have to color grade thanks to film simulations. Xh2 also does 6k, has internal prores recording and external raw recording, and has an optional cooling fan.
Sony’s charging $2,500 for a cam that doesn’t even offer 4k 120 (though you don’t need it) and overheats at room temperature after barely an hour of standard 4k recording.
Whereas the xh2 has an unlimited recording time.
If you’re looking for video, a7iv is not the one. For someone that’s primarily photographing and doing slight video work? Sure, but if you’re doing mainly video work, the a7siii is way better than the a7iv. And even at that point, you’re paying $3,000 when you could get a more capable package in the XH2s for $2,500. Again, better codecs, way better dynamic range (the xh2s is outperforming cinema cameras like the canon C70 in DR and competing with the Sony Venus) better rolling shutter performance, optional cooling fan, more custom modes and nearly identical autofocus performance in both photo and video.
@@Eyeofkamau Any clue on the xh1 for video work? I am currently working with a fuji xpro2 which is ofc, less than desirable for video work but I always assumed I'd be a photographer first
@@cine-ish yup! Not the best but a capable video camera and huge upgrade from your current body!
I'm confused between xt5 & xh2
The stare Lila gave you when you called her a demon 😂🤣
lol
The stare a demon would give??? 😂
I am more focust on photography is this a good buy for me?
Are you already in the Fuji system? It’s a great camera but the new xt5 has pretty much all the same specs just no 8k video and it’s cheaper. I’m working on a review of it. I just got it in for review yesterday
@@LeeZavitz yea! I own a x-h2 for 6 weeks now but I am struggling. Idk its my first “professional” camera so I think I have to learn a lot and be patiënt I guess.
Yes, perfect buy.
@@MrSolidairwhich one should I pick xh2/xh2s/xt5?
Because of you Fujifilm is selling thousands of cameras....
I’m a bit scared of the rolling shutter, I hope the x-t5 is a better in video as its 6k instead of 8. but still its worse than what I would like to see
That's why you get the XH2S to eliminate rolling shutter....the Xt4 has rolling shutter do you think the less video centric XT5 would be better.....keep dreaming.
I watched the last video you made of the XH2 and I was waiting for this video. You also made me a believer in the 18 120 lens. Thanks for all of your efforts and balance hands on review. I will match this camera with my Mavic 3 zone as well. Speaking about rolling shutter why not show video with the 18 120 lens to see how it works with rolling shutter.
@@technodronesogxl9783 Well in the video it was said that the non oversampled modes are faster, so would like to test those to see how they hold up on x-t5. On x-t4 the video is using oversampled in most modes
@@LarsSteenhoff gotcha, but if you are worried About rolling shutter the XH2S is a no Brainer. Pick your poison....
Well the xt5 has same rolling shutter in 6k and 4k HQ. Only way to get better rolling shutter performance is to shoot non oversampled 4k. It kind of sucks because Fuji has had really great rolling shutter performance in all of their cameras in the past
Dawg... she was not happy 🤣.. poor Lila
LMAO. Lila the demon 😅

Bro hope u have survive the demon. ... :D
Why get Fuji for video? The lenses are terrible for it. Rigging it out is hilarious. I can only imagine going to a professional shoot with it and get laughed at.
Because for the vast majority of people they want your skill and portfolio over what you use. Out of any job I’ve been posted for I’ve only had one ever require a specific body. I can confidently say I can create incredible media with my Fuji setup over half the talent locally. Someone who’s skilled can make a $5 work like a $500 tool.
There will be a point that there is quality in production that you will be able to nit pick but typically only by those who are equally as versed and know what to look for. I can promise you anyone I talk to, even the best photographers and videographers in town wouldn’t look at a video and say “oh this must’ve been FLOG 2 on the Fuji XH2 because the shadow noise”
who told you Fuji does not have good Lenses ? , it's nonsense . I agree their previous generation lenses were not good but new Fuji Lenses perform as good as Gmaster lenses , try out 18 1.4 WR , 23 1.4 WR , 33 1.4 WR , 56 1.2 WR, in addition you have new Sigma trinity of 16 1.4 , 30 1.4 and 56 1.4 also there and new 13 1.4 and 75 1.4 from Viltrox also amazing .. yea Fuji is a great eco system these days ..
