I remember 1 ringgit = 1 Singapore dollar. Malaysia now rank below Indonesia and is the lowest among ASEAN (initial 5). PAS will make malaysia like Iran. If a majority of Malay think like you do, Malaysia glory years won't be to far away. Using Religion in politics won't work. Why US was so success in the last 50 years and now is trending down? Socialism and religions become a factor and Corruption.

Agree undoubtly... tyranny occurs when absolute power is granted to the rulers of the day... corruption creeps in as power furthers their own interests instead of working for the common good. Malaysia's Constituiton which upholds the "Rule of Law" at its highest, serves as a 'safeguard' against tyranny. The "Rule of Law" which is good and upholds just principles, would bring good order to a nation and thus we should all fall under it's protection....

As long as Islam is the majority religion in Malaysia, race and religion will always be the number one problem. It can only be solved if Malaysia turns into a fully secular country, which of course, is almost impossible to do given the fact that Islamic conservatism has taken root after the era of Tengku Abdul Rahman's rule was over in the early 70s. Mariam Moktar and her like-minded cohorts of that 'secular' era are fast dwindling. Subsequent Malay leaders Abdul Razak, Husein Onn, Mahathir and Najib contributed to the fast tracking of conservative Islamisation process of Malaysia. Anwar's multiracialism and multireligious effort to change Malaysia will be met with strong and formidable resistance by the majorly Malays. The "battle" will rages on for many years to come.

The politicians use this to their advantage as they know their people (will swallow this whole). It is us against them even as I suffer as long as the "right" muslims are in power. You can only hope one day, they realize and snap out of it but it is not going to be anytime soon. Malaysia was ok during Tunku's time. It was 1969 May 13 racial riots engineered by Tun Abdul Razak that started this Malay supremacy and nationalist movement. Mahathir, another Malay nationalist maniac, was suppressed and put into cold storage in UMNO by Tunku and rightly so. When Tun Razak became PM he took Mahathir out from the doldrums and elevated him. For this reason Mahathir was indebted to him which was why he supported his son Najib to take over the reign after the temporary seat warmer Badawi. Why Mahathir is now against Najib is because Najib stole billions of Ringgit from the people which was significantly very much more than the amount Mahathir himself stole during his time as PM.

However, what is demanded of us in this period is not just that, but full acceptance of supremacy. We sabahans certainly did not sign up for this. If we truly andfully accepted your core beliefs, we wouldve already converted into it. Its the same vice versa, and we can accept that too out of respect. You can share your values freely, but shoving your beliefs down our throats.. we have to draw the line.

If such the basic is wrong and the election commission and register of society should not approve political party with religion ideology. This will ultimate create intolerance n over power others of other faith. If this is not set right, there is no way things can be corrected with good intention.

In reality, there isnt a distinction between religion and politics when it comes to them. This stemmed from the history of their religion which by default came hand in hand with political rule. We totally understand this, thats why we had to draw the line at the formation of the nation. The Constitution was supposed to limit how far all sides can push when it comes to religious powers, but sadly it is now being reinterpretted by certain ppl of the past administration to be larger than it actually is. We have to revert back to the initial intention of MA63 in good faith.

    • @loongsookum8761

The constitution clearly stated that all can practice their respective faith without any hindrance. That's why sabah and sarawak came together to form Malaysia. Now with the extreme islamination the question of sabah and sarawak state continuation in Malaysia will be the crucial issues. Thus political stability May be the continuation of issues of malaysia landscape if things are not set right. Just look at countries with islam in the middle east and you will know their problems. Singapore was smart to Break away from Malaysia due to their wise political foresight that religion and politic does not mix.

As usual, you are spot-on. We were harmonious until those holier-than-thou hipocrites started their racist and religious extremism. But Sarawak and Sabah somehow withstood the onslaught of racism and religious bigotry and keep their harmonious existence intact. All thanks to our far-seeing leaders of various races and religions. No thanks to the toxic rhetoric of certain Peninsula hipocrites!

In current times where many laws & religions fight for our support, we need to look at the good of whole community & the countries' development.
The purpose of having laws is for maintaining peace & order.
Laws must also be updated to allow development of economy such as tourism & ease more women in more career avenues such as engineers.
We see no advantage for laws needing 4 witnesses to define rape.

I'm a Buddhist but i will not publicly claim "Buddhism is Best" bcos i'm mindful of others who will feel insulted. Besides, i am humble & honest enough to admit i'v no deep knowledge in other religions, therefore i think it is best to keep my religious convictions to myself. Having said, 😮i hav a big doubt on this malay university student's sound knowledge in other religions for him to boldly claim "Islam is best" in public ?????

Good night from NYC, Miss Mariam and I dunno what to say about Malaysia nowadays, I really dunno.
If by looking 1:08 where even Tunku Abdul Rahman himself saw that extremism is a dangerous thing,, this means that politicians were playing around since the 1970's.
I wish I knew but other than having my outraged by what the inept politicians did to Malaysia, I dunno what to say.

Ms Mariam....just wondering if u r saying that human made laws are supreme to Allah's laws. R u saying that syaria laws are unjust, ketinggalan zaman dan tak sesuai untuk dilaksanakan. Dan Secular/civil law itu so perfect.
Bukankah agama islam itu untuk seluruh alam yakni hukum hakamnya merangkumi islam dan bukan islam. Bersikap adillah. Jgn sebarangan hukum agama islam kerana kelemahan pelaksanaan misalnya.
Hang berat sebelah dlm memberi contoh yakni contoh -ve kpd syaria (vs civil) ttp tidak sebaliknya. R u saying civil law is so perfect that there is no such -ve example(vs syaria)?
Dari Allah kita datang dan kepada Allah kita kembali.

The law is fair to all. No man is above the law.
Yet, because of religion, the religious law even no fair, is being practise and profess...
Pakistan was under British colony and the beauty of the British law was administer, but for obvious reason, changed it to the law they like, which causes hardships esp to the unfortunates... The country can never progress when things are not right... 😢😢😢😢
