  • Believe it or not, there are chemicals in most of the fruit and vegetables that we eat every day.
These chemicals are called pesticides and are used by farmers to keep pests away from their crops.
However, sometimes some of the chemicals leave a residue on the fruit and vegetables.
Most of the time, the residue cannot be seen without a scientific microscope or perhaps a magnifying glass.
Even though we may not see the residue, we are likely still consuming it.
Too many of these chemicals can affect our health.
If fruit and vegetables are eaten raw, without properly being washed, you are ingesting chemicals.
This is important because pesticides can cause cancer. They can also damage your nervous system and reproductive system.
They can even cause birth defects to an unborn child.
It is important to note where you are purchasing your fruit and vegetables from and what types of chemicals, if any, that farmer uses.
When possible, buy organic fruit and vegetables so that you know no pesticides were used on your produce.
Regardless if you buy organic or not, it is important to properly clean your fruit and vegetables to remove any residue.
Below you will find a list of all-natural ways to clean fruit and vegetables.
These home tips can make you feel healthier, increase your lifespan, and decrease your risk of disease:
    1. Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the most powerful ingredients that help to kill germs and pesticides from your fruit and vegetables.
    - First, fill a sink with water.
    - Then, add one cup of white vinegar.
    - Rinse the fruit and vegetables in this solution.
    - Once completed, place the fruit and vegetables in a clean bowl.
They are now ready to be eaten.
    2. Baking Soda
Baking soda helps to remove the harmful pesticides and chemicals from fruit and vegetables.
    - Add 5 glasses of water to a big bowl.
    - Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda.
    - Soak the fruit and vegetables in this solution.
    - Wait 15 minutes and then remove the fruit and vegetables.
    - Wipe them dry.
It is now safe to eat your healthy food.
    3. Turmeric Water
Turmeric is a spice that acts as an antibacterial. That means that it can kill germs.
    - To a bowl of boiling water, add 5 teaspoons of turmeric powder.
    - Add the fruit and vegetables to the turmeric water.
    - Rinse the fruit and vegetables in the turmeric water.
    - Transfer the fruit and vegetables to a bowl of clean water.
    - Wipe dry. Your fruit and vegetables are now safe to eat.
    4. Salt
Salt is a well known compound found all over the world. It comes in several forms.
Rock salt and ground salt kills pesticides quickly:
    - In a bowl of clean water, add one cup of salt.
    - Add the fruit and vegetables to the salt solution.
    - Allow them to soak in the water for 10 minutes.
    - After 10 minutes, drain the salt water and add fresh water to the bowl.
    - Rinse the fruit and vegetables in clean water 5 times before consuming.
The tricks and tips listed above will remove almost 90% of any residue left from any chemicals the farmer may use.
They allow you to clean your fruit and vegetables at home.
However, to be on the safe side, peel the skin off fruits and vegetables that have deep ridges on the skin.
These are locations where the chemicals cling onto and linger.
    Happy eating!

Chi Dixon you can trust yourself. If you grew your own fruits and vegetables, you wouldn’t have to depend on the morality/non presence of morality from second and third parties. These people take advantage of us because they know we’re too lazy to learn anything outside of our own interests. Most of our interests are of bullshit means. Most of us would rather tune into Love and Hip Hop or The Bachelor than to learn how to grow our own food. We’re purposely not taught shit like this in grade school, and we graduate grade school celebrating because we’ve viewed school as prison just being glad we don’t have to go anymore. If you stay ready you ain’t gotta get ready, and there ain’t no corporation who can say they’ve fucked you with the corporate dick. If it came from your hand, you therefore shouldn’t have any worries unless you can’t trust yourself

Extra tip for this: DO NOT USE TAP WATER FOR THIS! Your tap water is filled with lab made fluoride and metals, these won't disappear by using salt, tumernic, vinegar or baking soda. So invest in a good reverse osmosis water system to filtrate your water or if not possible a jag that uses a multi-filtering system to clean your water.

The problem with the word 'organic' is that it really just means that it's derived from living matter. So unless the produce is certified organic, it's either a company advertising it's products as organic when it's not... or it's a company that follows the guidelines for organic certification but not willing to spend the money for the certification for lack of resources or to not drive up the prices. Ya just don't know.

This definitely helps to remove pesticides from the external part of the fruit..
However, unfortunately, if pesticides and other chemicals are in the soil that the fruit is grown in, then guess what?? it's also inside of the fruit itself.. we can escape the toxicity :(

    • @gb4771
      @gb4771 3 года назад +12

You are right. There is pesticides everywhere, even on organic fruits and veggies. Most of the non organic fruits and veggies are normally treated with organophosphate so the pesticide goes in the fruits or veggies. For the organic ones, the molecule of the pesticides is suppose to deteriorate naturally and does not stay much inside, but u still have residu outside and need to wash. The residu for organic ones is so small compare to the non organics that we can say they are more safe. Sorry if my English is not good.

Just rinsing is not enough, pesticides are absorbed into soft skin fruits and vegetables. Soak the fruits and vegetables in white vinegar at least thirty minutes the longer the better. It will draw out the pesticides and not taste like vinegar.

You have to consider your WATER too... make sure it is at least Filtered.
In my area, and many others... a person can smell the Chlorine in the water that comes out of your faucet! I can't afford a whole new filtering system, so I use PUR filters, as it gets a high percentage of chemicals out of the Water...
Then mix this water with Vinegar.
By the year 2025 - it has been forecasted that our Planet will experience Water Shortages...this is already a reality in some countries.

organic farmers can use pesticides on their crops. Check with the FDA. Big farm companies (Monsanto etc) lobbied the government to allow some chemical pesticides be used on "organic" crops. you are not safe from injesting organic crops without washing them.

Washing it doesnt make a difference. The fruit absored most of the chemical anyway

Wow thanks i think this will reduce pesticides i didn't knew that baking soda also helped. Turmeric could give it a bad taste but i believe that is also a good way

maybe you could try white turmeric most people don't know about that how I found out about it is because these dark-skinned women from India were showing us how to make a face mask out of turmeric and as soon as I started to put it on I stopped myself and said hey wait a minute what if it dies my skin for a couple days because I have very pale skin I did my research and found out that indeed would have happened so then I saw in the Indian Grocers white turmeric I think it is powerful but I only used it once the reason I think it's powerful as I cut one open took the juice of it and put it where my third ideas and when I went to bed I could see something up in between my eyebrows with my eyes closed it was sort of a dark maroonish red color and sort of shaped like if you looked at a statue or painting of Mary or Jesus if they had their arms out spread but we're wearing a veil type thing it's sort of shaped like that almost shaped like an American Military Air Force jet can't think of the name of it but I realized it was being projected by the third eye and I think it was definitely opening up
